im probaly going to sound like a noob but.... how do you examine things like that?

It's a spell called Monster Examine on the Lunar spell set. You gain access to it (the Lunar spell set) after Lunar Diplomacy and then get the Monster Examine spell along with some other new spells, after Dream Mentor. You just cast the spell on a monster and it'll show the info as seen in my guide.

Ice Troll King is

"An impressive looking troll"

This is a guide for Monster Examine images, not... examine info. Err, that can get confusing...

Anyways...

Is the max hit MALIE only? The reason i ask is that tzharr mej can hit 20+ with its mage attack. Almost killed me once lol. :-k

Come, be my light.

Mingle with my darkness

May we mix to create

Our own twilight sunset

The dusk breeze

Spreading clouds

On our murky horizon

Melee, and I think so... at least by default, there might be some where Jagex has forced the correct value upon it.

If it was melee only I don't get how Karils max hit could be 20 =s he's a ranger..

On the other hand Ahrim lists as 11 while his mage max hit is 20 aswell.

Very nice guide but I think the feature is abit too buggy to trust 100% :P

99 cooking / 99 magic / 99 ranged / 99 hitpoints / 99 herblore / 99 defence

It's not buggy, it's a flaw in the programming logic that was used to design it. And only the max hit part is flawed. Name, Combat and HP are 100% accurate, always.

  • 3 weeks later...
nice guide, really helpful, but the files are a little too big

Not much I can do about that, sorry. It's using pretty much THE best lossless image format for the web that there is.

I'm Willing to:

1. Add a link to the monster's bestiary page.

2. Add a title before each picture, so, it's possible to use ctrl + f.

Tell me if you want these done.

I may do the title thing, and don't worry about it yourself as it would be quite easy for me to do it, seeing as I have a PHP script generate all the forum code for my guide automatically.

As for the first option there are several reasons I won't do that. Sorry.

Saturday, September 01, 2007

  1. Added the rest of the POH monsters (hobgoblin, baby red dragon, huge spider, troll, hellhound, kalphite soldier, Tok-Xil, dagannoth, steel dragon and rocnar)

  1. Added Rabbit (level-2)
  2. Added Ghost (level-29)

I forgot there was a level TWO rabbit as well as a level one. And go figure, the level 2 was in the game before the level 1...

I finally found out how to make the ghost appear. It'll only transform if you're next to it and it's stationary, but not if you block it. Kind of hard... I went there to the Haunted Mine today for another try and ended up running around the ghosts, finally getting them to transform...
