You have to read all of this!!

Remember when beepers was the thing to have : )

If you are under the age of 13...you should not read this

Just because you were born in '97 doesn't mean you're a 90's kid.

It's not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but three conscious years of the 90's just wont cut it.

You're a 90's kid if:

You had slap braclets!

Way back.

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear.

Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!![/hide]

LOL..I remember almost every bit of this as a kid. Heh, I remember whenever VCRs were the way to go...I remember having a big rack of VHS tapes (I still do)..I even remember whenever tapes were out and CDs were in (over here, anyways)...lol, the 90's were great. Dial-up internet was a gift, Windows 95 and 98 were some of the greatest things around...*sigh* makes me wish it wasn't 2007. I also remember the Pokemon craze, DBZ and DB craze, whenever some people got back into Magic the gathering..heh, I loved it.

Anyways...I don't get the people who say pokemon is a kids game and all. I personally dont like it. I still play it though. Why? It's an overall good and kind of fun RPG. I like how simple it was to learn..and then you still had to manage the entire party, it was just a fun game.

pokemon, especially the new ones, take about as long as any 'sophisticated RPG', with just as much thinking involved.

only the anime is really targeted at kids, the games are for gamers, wouldn't you say?

heck, that game dragon quest is just as cartoony as pokemon, maybe more.

She said "you're movin with you're auntie and uncle in bel-air,I whistled for a cab and when it came near the license said fresh and it had dice in the mirror, if anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought nah just forget it , yo holmes to bel-air! I pulled up to the house around 7 or 8 and I yelled to the cabbie yo holmes smell ya later, looked at my kingdom and I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the prince of bel-air.(music)

Next, Heartless18, i think some of your 90's stuff is confused with 80's stuff :P

A 90s kid is seen as being born in late 80s/early 90s.

Anyway the games are always getting harder.

GSC showed that with that Ice Maze *shudders thinking about it*

i dont call pokemon a game for 8-12 because i dont see my little brother EV training his pokemons, giving them items to hold, giving them the right moves and using there weaknesses and resistences... to understand all stratergys of the game youll need to be etleast 16+ (or verry smart).

everytime i hear him calling my name because he doesnt understand stuff of the game... or he asks: should i keep this move or delete it.. "can you give my charizard a fire boosting item please" :wall:

RS is mainly aimed at teenagers, yet everyone in the top positions seems to be in their twenties or above.

Stupid age limit on RuneScape!

Seriously, Pok̮̩̉̉mon is actually aimed at a mixture of both Pok̮̩̉̉mon fans, like myself, who grew up watching the series and continue to play the games, and the 'lil kiddies everyone seems to think it was made for. things like EV training, natures, egg moves and all that would completely elude younger kiddies. These systems are in place so that older people can use the game to compete with, and this keeps them entertained.

Pok̮̩̉̉mon may be a G rated game, but there's no way it can be said to be aimed at little kids. Especially considering little kids don't have money...

Lol, brock leaving? They got rid of that broad Misty and got new ones, like May, and the latest Dawn  and Brock reappears in every season anyway.

@Ginger, I agree. Kid's don't have money, however they have parents who spoil them nevertheless...Oh, and the real dynamics of the game are what kids will never really understand (i.e., Ev training, breeding). In truth, Pokemon is just a huge math equation ready to be solved. Something kids won't ever see.

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night.

When light up sneakers were cool.

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $1.35 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded

stuff on VCRs.

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off of our walkman.

When checking out drawing books and that one book about the rainbow fish from the library was THE cool thing to do.

You had slap braclets!

Way back.

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear.

Who would have thought you'd miss the 90's so much!!!!!

[/hide]

Omg i can relate to so much of that. How i miss those things like orgeon trail and the actually good cartoons not this midless crap that a baby monkey wouldnt even find amuseing. I still watch pinky and the brain and boy meets world. I think you just read my entire childhood memories.

I think we need to make a discusion about remmembering all the 90's fads. :P

Anyway why does it matter what the so called age limit on a game is. If you like it you can play it at any age you want. Unless your under age for it then i advise you not to.

1990's KIDS!!! READ!!!!!!

You have to read all of this!!

Remember when beepers was the thing to have : )

If you are under the age of 13...you should not read this

and if you do, you should not repost this.

Just because you were born in '97 doesn't mean you're a 90's kid.

It's not like you could remember the original Simpsons. I am sorry but three conscious years of the 90's just wont cut it.

You're a 90's kid if:

You can finish this [ice ice _ _ _ _ ]

You remember watching:

-Doug

-Ren & Stimpy

-Pinky and the Brain

-AAAAAAAH Real Monsters!

on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence . . . not

when everyhting was settled by

-rock paper scissors or

-bubble gum bubble gum in a dish or

-daddy had a donkey inky binky bonky.

when cops and robbers was a daily activity.

when we played Hide and go seek until our legs grew numb.

when we used to obey our parents

You used to listen to the radio all day long just to record your FAVORITE song of ALL time.

"Where in the World is Carmen San Diego?" was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet. He's a Hero.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green ranger, were meant to be together. ???

You remember when Super Nintendos and Sega Genisis became popular.

You always wanted to send in a tape to America's Funniest Home Videos . . . but never taped anything funny.

You remember watching Home Alone 1, 2 , and 3 . . . and tried to pull the pranks on "intruders"

You remember watching:

-The Magic School Bus

-Wishbone

-Reading Rainbow on PBS.

You remember when Yo-Yos were cool.

You remember those Where's Waldo books.

You remember eating Warheads.

You remember watching:

-the 1st Batman

-Aladdin

-Ninja Turtles

-3 Ninjas movies.

You remember Ring Pops.

You remember drinking Surge, and Tang.

If you remember when every thing was "da BOMB!"

When they made the new lunchables so that you could make pizza AND tacos.

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players.

Making those little paper fortune cookie things, and then predicting your life with them.

You played and/or collected "Pogs"

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet, or Nano and brought it everywhere.

. . . Furbies.

You haven't always had a computer, and it was cool to have the internet.

And Windows 95 was the best.

You watched the original cartoons of Rugrats, Power Rangers, and Ninja Turtles.

Michael Jordan was a king.

YIKES pencils and erasers were the stuff!

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.

You remember when the new Beanie Babies and Talking Elmo were always sold out

You collected those Beanie Babies.

Carebears

Gak was the coolest stuff invented.

Lambchop's song never ended.

The old dollar bills.

Silver dollars, which were cool to have.

You remember a time before the WB.

You collected all the Troll dolls

If you even know what an original walkman is.

You remember wanting to sit on the orange Nickelodeon couch.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You know the Macarena by heart.

"Talk to the hand" . . . enough said

Before the Internet & text messaging . . .

Before Sidekicks & iPods . . .

Before MIKE JONES . . .

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX . . .

Before Spongebob . . .

[hide=I totally agree]Almost forgot to quote this.

Dude, you're my hero. Everything you just said has reawakened the '90's me...Ren and stimpy...Pinky and the Brain...Doug...All good shows, you are right. Ice ice baby! Wow...Are you afraid of the dark...*Quivers with chills* I still remember the last show...Not vividly, enough to know that the small silver iron ball they had was part of a horse in a fair, and it was evil...Anyway! Goosebumps are still up on my bookshelf, DAMN PROUD OF IT!! I even read them still!

Let's not forget Disney's shows, like the weekenders, recess...Now Disney has Hanna montana and crap like that. <.< I remember when Nick abandoned doug and disney took it in and extended the series... <3:

It upsets me to think of the new shows, which tarnish the good name of Nick, Cartoon network...Disney...Nick's good shows were all of the game shows, like Legends of the hidden temple, when those games were AWESOME to go on and, at that time, exercise was popular amongst kids. I still watch that and Guts or whatever on my adelphia channel 154.

Then, also in nick, Rugrats, all of that...I loved Rugrats. Now, Nick has crap like danny phantom, cancelled shows like catscratch and My life as teenage robot...Wow there's a lot.Dexters lab, Jonny bravo, Courage the Cowardly dog!! Where'd everything go? What the hell is ben 10?

The only good modern day show that may match Hey Arnold! (BTW, have hey arnold tapes that I watch still!) or any other old show is Spongebob.

But, you're right, the 90's was awesome...Many Kids weren't fat and lazy, in fact, they were in shape, in fact everything you said is quite true...

Goosebumps! marathon is coming in CN...Can't wait...

And that's all I can say. Definatly off topic...[/hide]

The point beyond this is, pokemon was invented in the 90's, and it was popular for all ages of people. When it started to get technologically advanced, with DS and eventually Wii, from just an old game boy black and white...To think origins will always be the best...No matter what. Well, except old computers...They're slow. Like mine. Lags too much.

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

[Err, list thingy]

I think I just got slammed in the face and into a wall by the biggest Nostalgia Hammer ever made by Man.

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Tell me about it  . But seriously, most of those things were simply awesome and so simple, yet so much fun. I still sometimes get out Oregon Trail and mess around when bored.

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

Nerd alert.
Stupid post alert.

+1 alert :anxious: :wall:

I agree with you. But it is targeted toward a younger audience. There are some aspects of it that could be said are more focused toward adults(such as all of the many ingame mechanics)

Heartless, you made me remember all my old memories of the 90's. I was born in '92, so I grew up through most of that. I remember waking up every morning to watch cartoons, when pokemon was cool to play, and when hide and seek was the coolest game around. Makes you wish those days were back :(

But on topic, I don't think there should be an age limit on any game. Just because a game is being targeted to a certain audience, doesn't mean only that audience can enjoy it. Im 15 and I still enjoy the Pokemon games, though I just started to understand EV training and the mechanisms of breeding. I'm starting ot delve deeper into the game, finding a truly great game.
