So I'm 1/2 of the way to Captain, and I have 90k credits saved up. Tomorrow I should get another ~40k credits (my friend found a great part of the campaign to repeat for insane credits, but it only works for around an hour a day) so by Friday I'll definitely be a Lt Colonel or a high Major. I need around 400k cR though for the remaining helmets that I still can't even see yet, and then PILOT HERE I COME! After I get all the helmets I'm also planning on buying all the armor so I can look like the Master Chief, which would be amazing.

You can buy MkVI armor? And what part of the campaign? :twss:

Anyway, I'm trying to make my guy look like Jorge. Just need his grenadier chestplate and his left shoulder (haven't unlocked it yet), and I should be good. If only I could make my guy a bit bigger <_<

Just started playing online and I love how stupid people are making their SPARTANs look. I hope they have this kind of customisation in the next CoD. I think its a real shame you can't customise your Elite though as they look really badass, and you're going to be playing as them like half the time online so its a shame theres so much for the SPARTANs, but for the Elites you can only pick from like 5 preset bodys.

Oops. Accidentally shut off my xbox while Reach was saving after quitting a mission during the campaign. Lost all of my Campaign progress :twss: Oh well, got a free 5k credits for restarting it . Didn't lose any of my armor or commendations thank goodness.

I believe you can buy Mark V (wasn't that what he wore in Halo CE?) and the campaign thing only works for like an hour and then it slows down to like 1/3 of Gruntpocalypse. You still get like 60k credits though. All you do is go on Oni Swordbase on Heroic with the skulls with these effects (I can't remember the names): No radar, constant grenades, less ammo dropped, no shields recharging. Then you start the mission and sprint to the part with the target locater and move around in that base until you get a check point. After you get the checkpoint use the locater on the enemies and you'll get 12-15 kills. Right when the rockets stop hitting (so you don't get the checkpoint after that) revert to last save and repeat. You'll get so many commendations, but after about an hour it'll slow down a lot. I think I got ~50-70k credits in a little over an hour.

Currently 690/1000 in gamerscore.

Been having whole load of fun but something is really bugging me.

The focus rifle is such a failure of a weapon in what it's supposed to do it's better off in close range and puts Covenant without a long-range weapon.

Which brings me to Invasion which is such a biased game type.

Humans purely have much better weapons having two sniper weapons and a better rocket launcher they could just sit at a long range and Dmr the Elites to death.

They get better drops too, better classes, they get better everything. T_T

Also biased gameplay you have nearly no way to deal with a vehicle without a power weapon from the same point capture they got it from but they keep camping points with it in slayer.

He wore Mk IV armor (which is odd, because Noble has Mk 5 don't they?), and upgraded to Mk V when he got back to the orbital Defense System back at Earth. Then got Mk VI sometime during Halo 3.

@Overdoziz

I can load up the mission I was just about to start, and the "first" mission (not even...). All of the others are either [locked], or not showing. Guess I get to re-play through the entire thing lol. Oh well. Still have my "campaign completed" achievements for Heroic and Normal, so I'll just replay on Easy till I'm ready for Legendary solo.

It's not glitched, just most people aren't observant enough to figure out that where the elite is almost all the time is too high for the achievement and you have to wait for him to walk away a little bit.

My Opinion on Why Halo: Reach's Multiplayer SUCKS

-------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all, this is just my personal opinion. I realize not everyone will agree. I also realize that what I may find unappealing, the person next to me might find amazing. So please try and refrain from any trolling or flaming... I'm simply explaining why I don't particularly enjoy the online game play. Btw, the numbers do not represent any sort of order... I simply used the numbers to separate different "dislikes". And if it's any consolation, I friggin LOVED the campaign. I think they did a really nice job with it. Although the campaign seemed a bit short to me, the ending was really good (and sad).

-------------------------------------------------------------------

#1 - Weapons - For whatever reason, they decided to change a lot of weapons when they introduced Reach. They got rid of the 3 burst Battle Riffle and replaced it with the annoying single shot DMR. They threw in a lot of newer weapons (Plasma Launcher, Fuel Rod Gun, Needle Rifle, Grenade Launcher... to name a few) but some of them just seem to suck. I can't seem to ever use the grenade launcher correctly. Another thing that blows my mind is the DMR's iffy capabilities. Sometimes, it works fairly decent. Other times, however, I can literally unload an entire clip on/around someone's head & upper body and it STILL DOES NOT KILL THEM. Same goes for the Needle Rifle.

#2 - Grenades - Is it just me, or are these things completely messed up (well, compared to H2 and H3)? For some reason stickies don't seem to "stick" very often for me... and that's something I used to pride myself on was my sticking abilities :shades: . Frag grenades seem to have lost their throwing ability as well. In past Halo games, everyone could throw a frag grenade like they were Randy Johnson. In Reach, it feels like I have to stare at the ceiling and throw it just for it to go farther than 10 feet. They also seem to do some CRAZY damage. I can't tell you how many times I've been around a corner and thought "that won't hurt me, or if it does, it won't be too bad" and ended up getting half or more of my shields blown off.

#3 - Sniping - I've never been too impressive at sniping. Well, let me be more specific: I've never been that good at head shots. Sure, if I had the sniper I could kill people with it easily (its a sniper...), but I was never very skilled at getting head shots. The 2nd game of matching I ever played on Reach, I randomly ran in to the sniper right at the beginning of the game: BOOM! head shot. BOOM! head shot. BOOM! head shot. Not only did I get first strike... I got a triple kill with 3 head shots. HOLD THE FREAKING PHONE. The sniping mechanics on Reach have been tweaked to the point of patheticness (I had to make up a word to describe it). Anybody and everybody can now be sniping machines, and I'm living proof. They've taken any and all skill out of it.

#4 - Upgrades - I'm talking about thing sprint, jet packs, armor lock, and active camo. When I first heard about these little upgrades, I actually thought they would be a good idea. Boy was I wrong. Jet packs have made most of the maps virtually impossible to get away on. Oh, you spawned on the other side of the map after being killed? Too bad, I'm going to jet pack my way straight over to you and rape you AGAIN before you even know whats going on. I don't have much to complain about on the sprint & active camo, because those don't make the game impossible to enjoy. Armor lock is just as annoying as jet packs. I can't tell you how many times I've been blasting someone, just 1 shot away from the kill, when they go in to armor lock. All of the sudden I'm standing there like a fool when the rest of his team catches up to gang bang me while this dbag is invincible.

#5 - Shields/Life - The shields, and your actually life in general, are flawed. Why change the normal flow of things? I never played H1 very much, but if I'm not mistaken was it not always 2 melees = dead? In Reach, it takes 2 melees and some shots, or 3 melees. This is insane. It's not just with melee, though... it seems like it takes so much more damage to kill someone. I realize that spraying with an assault rifle at someone and finishing them off with a melee is pretty newbish move, but there are times when people pop up and surprise you that you pretty much HAVE to use it. Not anymore I guess. There have been countless times where I've ran spraying at people & punched them, only to end up getting killed, because apparently in Reach it's going to take more than an assault rifle clip & a swift karate shop to the dome to take people down.

#6 - Maps - The maps on Reach suck. Flat out. No way to sugar coat that one. They have too many twists and turns in them, and most of them seem pretty identical in design. The only "open" map you have is like 5 times bigger than Valhalla was in H3, and unless you're playing a Snipers match, you're in for an annoyingly short scoring game until time finally runs out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm almost positive I've missed something. It's funny how you can have all these things you want to say, but once you start writing it all seems to turn to mush  . I don't know if anyone will acknowledge this little reply of mine, or if anyone will even bother reading it at all. But ever since I started playing Reach, I've been wanting to get all this off my chest. And for the record, I'm not bashing the game because I'm not any good at it. Clearly I'm not as good at it as I was in H3 (I die like 3 times as much on Reach), but I'm bashing the online play because I legitimately do not enjoy it.

Out of everything you listed, the one thing I really agree with is the inconsistency of the DMR. That and the fact that Snipers and SWAT have been integrated into the Team Slayer playlist, but that is likely to change soon.

Weapons: Yea, the GL seems kind of iffy to use, which is why not many people do. The Plasma Launcher just seems weird to me. Not much point in it. I rarely have much trouble with the DMR, like it a lot better than I did with Halo 3's BR.

Grenades: Grenades are like what they SHOULD have been in H3 to me. Frags had barely any explosion in H3, but now they actually do something. Although I have to wonder why they went back to 2 grenades for each, but with only two types. Granted, you don't seem to throw them very far, but that's not THAT big of a deal if you are close enough to be using grenades in the first place.

Snipers: are a bit weird now. I used to suck, but now I'm pretty good with them. Honestly, was there any skill to sniping in Halo in the first place though? It's still two shots to kill without a HS, it just seems like our heads are bigger now.

Upgrades: I honestly think you are over-exaggerating the jetpacks thing. Just because you died to someone once doesn't mean you can't kill them later. Armor lock is a viable strategy, since you can't sprint or fly or any of that. Hence why they are called equipment. You can only have one, so you better pick what's best for you.

Shields/life: Normal flow? Get within one shot of dieing, hide, recharge shields and just magically go back to full health? That's not how things should be. 3 melees are fine, two to get rid of shields + half health, one to finish them off. (real men use assassinations :twss:)

Maps: Yea, some of the maps are pretty BS (the one invasion map... forgot it's name. The other one besides Spire.) And short game score? Huh? I thought they increased the score limit.

My opinions.

I disagree that you say it outright sucks, any multiplayer game is fun in one way or another and i've personally had a lot of fun with it, I can't say more so than H3 yet becuase it's only been out a week but i'm optimistic. I don't disagree with all your points, but I consider you to be unfairly harsh or wrong on most - no offence.

#1 - Weapons

There are TWO differences between the BR and DMR.

1) The first is 3 burst, and the other is single burst.

2) Recticle bloom

That is it. It takes exactly the same amount of clicks on your controller for the DMR and if you want to time it perfectly, you should have no trouble adapting from the BR, I certainly haven't.

The granade launcher takes skill, unlike the noob tube from MW2. I'm happy about that. Sucessfully using the EMP is difficult, but if you want to get good, practise the start of "Tip of the spear", once you can consistently and successfully disable both banshees that appear right at the start before they fly off, you should be able to get your eye in for multiplayer.

The needle rifle is automatic, that's the only problem I have with it. (Although it is handy)

#2 - Grenades

Stickies do seem to take more skill now, I agree with you, but i'm still ok with it, because I don't want someone being able to stick me easily.

They did nerf frags from the beta, because they went for miles and did too much damage. One effect of the nerf was that they changed the way explosions harmed you. There is now a radius of effect and the damage inflicted gradually decreases, as opose to set areas of damage in H2 and H3.

#3 - Sniping

I agree. Completely. I was never god's gift to sniping either, but then I had my first game of snipers in Reach yesterday, and well...

http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/gamestats.aspx?gameid=76262578&player=Keizer112

(I'm Keizer112)

#4 - Upgrades

Jet packs have their uses like that, but unless you suck really badly that won't happen all too often.

Thats what armor lock is meant to be used for.

Do you have any beef with hologram?

#5 - Shields/Life

I'm happy with the new sheilds+health system. Just if you didn't already know, sheilds now "pop". Meaning having 100% shields, and 10% shields will protect you from the same melee punch. Basicly, damage doesn't travel through shields unless you're using a power weapon. So if your using the AR, watch for that magic pop and then hit them. And if you can get two punches on them without any shield recharge, they should be dead.

#6 - Maps

I agree, too few maps. If they let any community maps in from forge world, i'd be happier. But they'll want you to buy all their future DLC...

Playing Hemmorage (aka Blood Gulch) with no vehicles is very boring, it's just too big.

Territories, snipers, elite slayer and headhunter work well though. (The tank in Territories is WAY over powered though - http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/gamestats.aspx?gameid=77107840&player=Keizer112)

[Hide]Yes, +95 KD. 85 kills in the tank alone.[/hide]

Please accept this constructive criticism, and i'm sorry if i've sounded arrogant.

On that note, what is the grenade launcher in terms of use and effectiveness?

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

On that note, what is the grenade launcher in terms of use and effectiveness?

Combat wise - It's okay for short-to-mid ranged combat, if you can directly hit the foe with the grenades.

Vehicle wise - It's beautiful <3: Hold down the fire key (RT) when you fire, and it'll turn into an EMP which can disable all vehicles near it.

Another thing that blows my mind is the DMR's iffy capabilities. Sometimes, it works fairly decent. Other times, however, I can literally unload an entire clip on/around someone's head & upper body and it STILL DOES NOT KILL THEM. Same goes for the Needle Rifle.

DMR is brilliant, I've never found any problem with it - and I cannot headshot for the life of me. Nor the Needle Rifle. If anything, the Needle Rifle is better than the DMR cause it causes the foe to have a supercombine explosion after a few shots.

Great, thanks!

I think they explode if you get 3 shots in on them. Well according to halopedia...

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

DMR is brilliant, I've never found any problem with it - and I cannot headshot for the life of me. Nor the Needle Rifle. If anything, the Needle Rifle is better than the DMR cause it causes the foe to have a supercombine explosion after a few shots.

Supercombine only works against unshielded opponents I thought? They would be dead before you got off a supercombine, unless you shot their dead body.

The only thing that seemed arrogant was where you put "Very long rant" as the hide tag... but aside from that, I see your point on pretty much everything you said. I suppose what has really been throwing me off is the massive difference between H2/H3 and Reach. On H2, I was fairly decent. On H3, I always felt I was pretty good (averaging a 2.0+ KDR most times). It's not the fact that I'm terrible at Reach... there are just so many things that feel flawed to me. But purpose it's because I'm still comparing them to past Halo games.

EDIT: I knew I had forgotten an equipment power up! Personally, holograms frustrate me... but they also crack me up. I always get tricked in to unloading on one of them haha.

Yea holograms are fun to use. Just point towards the ground so it stops only a few feet, then keep running on, not turning or anything. It's pretty funny to turn around and get someone meleeing your hologram  And the hologram is easy to get around. Protip: The hologram has no red reticule.
