I think I'm going to buy Reach... I hate 90% of people on XBL but the game play looks awesome enough to make up for that. And if it doesn't, I think I would just spend hours in forge.

Naw, the helmets don't do anything for me. I might like one of those armour effects or the death things. The little birthday one is fun to hear when you kill someone. |^_^|

As much as I don't like boosting I have to disagree with you. Getting digital items is a core part of the game - bragging rights. If you didn't gain ranks for it and credits i'd have no problem with it whatsoever because it's just like powertraining in RS, a faster way of doing something else for the same result.

It may not be morally correct but it's not actually against the rules as far as i'm aware.

It really is all about bragging rights with me, and all of my max rank(as of now) friends. The gear makes us drool. I really am into cosmetics.

I'd rather get credits the fun way than grinding. It's boring and doesn't really give you the feeling that you've earned the credits and armour pieces. It's just not in the spirit of the game.

We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.

 

A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.

 

As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.

 

A more comprehensive pass will be occuring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.

Edit 1: a point of clarification. No bans were handed out tonight for

 

a) Playing too much Gruntpocalypse (no such thing!)

b) Using the target locator too much (no such thing!)

 

Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via intentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)

 

Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.

 

 

Edit 2:

1) If you have lost your Legendary Helmet or any other downloadable offers, you can re-download them via your Download History. We're not sure this is affecting anyone (we haven't reproduced it internally), but just in case it is, give this a try.

 

2) We won't be resetting Commendations, as we do not feel that the exploit used affected them. It would not be fair to people who did use the exploit but who wish to retain the record of their playstyle, and we cannot differentiate between the two systematically. Sorry.

 

 

 

I am glad people who did the challenge exploit received a reset. That is what you get for being cheaters.

 

Also Halo2Proman, if you haven't got the Recon helmet back look in your Download History like said in Edit 2.

Basically, from what my friend says, you disconnect your xbox from the internet, just before you complete the last challenge.

And somehow you still get the credits from it, but it resets the challenges. So you can do it over and over and over again.
