Black Demons?

Just before 90 slayer, yes! I was getting tons and tons. So much that I wasn't actually profiting (even from cash from other tasks).

I have noticed an increase but it's probably for the best. They give lots of exp and are easy to mage/range/hally if you want.

Yeah, I've been getting black demons a lot more too, but like others have said, it's not a bad thing. I just whip out my dharoks and cannon, and get really fast slayer xp for the next couple hours.

Looking back on my old logs of slayer tasks I used to get them frequently anyway, so I doubt anything's changed.

 

 

 

They're decent tasks anyway, especially if you're cannoning; although I can understand getting the same task too much can be a bad thing. Slayer's meant to add variety to training, I often found it to be quite the opposite giving me the same few tasks over and over.

I use prayer on em, and also use the 10% strength. I kill em very fast :P

This may be based on just luck, but has anyone noticed an increase in the amount of Black Demon Tasks being assigned by Duradel lately? Im going insane because I get one almost 1/3-1/2 of the time all of the sudden and Im getting very sick of these tasks that take 4 hours+ for me finish by Ranging and consume a vast amount of ammo (though it is a lot of exp.)

Now, I'm not complaining about the exp, though I do find faster exp from other tasks, you misunderstand me.

 

 

 

I have nothing wrong with Black Demons themselves, I just dont like it when I get a task as such over and over again. Like someone said in this topic, the fun of slayer is the variety it gives.

 

 

 

Im going to try meleeing them with prayer now, seems more interesting than sitting there and shooting them for five hours.

 

 

 

 

 

And for the people who seem to be shouting at me for this topic.. I'm just raising a discussion on the frequency of this. I am by no means whining about them or anything. I am also aware of the Burthorpe master thanks. Black Demons are just the kind of task that arent bad enough to burthorpe but not quite good enough to enjoy, if you know what I mean.

 

 

 

 

 

It seems others have been mentioning an increase in Black Demons from Duradel too, but the likely cause is just a bout of luck I know. Though someone else raised an interesting point of Duradel picking "Favorites" for a while or something?

i have terrible luck at black demons, aside from hitting 17s and having tons of hp, i would definitely mind skipping them.

Well i mostly get a horrible task, skip it, go back, and get the ask again...I dont know how random it is...but i got some 'bad luck' strikes, and sometimes 'good luck' strikes with a bunch off nice tasks in row...

You cant just look at how much xp you get, you have to take into consideration how long it too, too. Its like saying, ya, i gained 3 million xp there, without mentioning it took your 6 months.

 

 

 

That and the drops suck. Im 91 slayer and I never do them.

My most recent streak, not in any order was brine rats*2, black demons, kalphites*2, warped terrorbirds, until i got a nice task in abarrant specters.

 

 

 

Brine rats are great! Most of their drops are stackable, they have like decent hp, and raw sharks are FTW! They hardly hit, itf so then use Guthans!

 

 

 

anyway.... I did get a few BD tasks, but not THAT many... I think the "L" word (Luck) or "C" word (coincidence) are in place here.

About every other one I get are bloodvelds (Which is not bad xp...but annoying repetitive after a while)

I also get a lot of black demons tasks from Duradel but I don't know if that has changed as previously i was using the slayer master under edge.

Pro's:

 

-Large tasks give great melee experience

 

-They are awesome slayer experience

 

-Very rarely packed out

 

 

 

Con's:

 

-A task of around 150 can cost me 150k in pots

 

 

 

Very good task in my opinion, I would never consider skipping them.

I enjoy Black Demon assignments...the drops could be better, though.

I wish I had lots of black demons when I was training, they were such fast xp, just use protect from melee + cannon = awesome slayer xp :D

There's recently been some other rumors and hints that the slayer masters'(particularly durael) assignments are chaning.

 

 

 

This may not be the case though. You may have just stumbled upon a bad case of luck; and I don't think your few tasks are enough to conclude anything.

 

 

 

If, perhaps, you were to get 50 or so tasks from durael, record them, and post your results, then your theory might be true(it would take quite a while though). Around 50 tasks would definately eliminate the possible "bad luck" factor.

 

 

 

It would be a nice test if anyone would try it. If multiple people tried it there could even be multiple conclusions(e.g. the higher your combat the higher level monsters you recieve, ect.).

i don't see the problem i only wish i would get them as a task...

 

loads of slayer and combat xp/or camp with guthans or if you have a problem still burthrope i hate burthroping i always get desert lizards

Well ive finally stopped using them as range fodder.. for now, which was so ridiculously slow.

 

 

 

Im using p pots and tho it's more expensive it's much quicker and much more fun.
