Why'd you quit?

Yeah, man, what's up with that? What about me, huh?!

Anyhoo, after seeing on the recent poll that hundreds of our Tip'ers have quit, I said, "Wow. That's quite a lot indeed, old boy." So I wondered, "Why?" Then I realized I just made a conversation with myself, so I decided to just make this topic to avoid more rather quizzical looks from my fellow house-liver-inners.

So, why did you quit? I sooo want to know.

I have quit RuneScape. I have posted on the Leaving sticky saying so. Goodbye.

Hey, well personally I've never quit (in fact...I just wanted to be the first one to post O:) ), but anyway.

After answering that poll, I laughed at where it said `I've officially quit and am still retired`, I just found it funny/strange/odd that someone would still visit a RuneScape site if they didn't play RS =P.

Takes up too much time for the average party-goer. Plus I learned that no matter how many acheivments I achieved(for lack of a better word), i'll always be paying $5 a month for something that although I enjoy, really have to bore the heck out of yourself to be good. And in the end, when its all said and done, i'll have spent hours upon hours on something that has no effect on my life. I figured finding a better hobby, something that when i'm done with it, that I can at least tell stories about or get some kind of gain, would be a much more wise decision.

I have quit here and there but come back because I would get abit bored if I started playing more then usual and then come back and play less and enjoy myself. I enjoy about 2-5hours(usally closer to that 2) of RS a week, but what keeps me from quitting is I can easily afford the 5 and I go to my parties and all friend outings, so its not like it stops me from doing anything in life.

Although I haven't quit runescape(yet), I can explain why the poll numbers were unusually high.

If you look around tip.it, past the players just struggling to get an easter, you'll discover many tip.iters that hold a large amount of wealth(ex. Duke Freedom was a huge merchant back then, but has retired since then) or some with many super high skills(Valerie, Wakka, ect.).

I think some of the old timers, even though they might have quit runescape, still hang out at tip.it because it's overall just a great place to chat. I remember a topic that brought up the idea that tip.it was harder to quit than runescape, and that is certainly right for our tif veterans out there.

By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

Yea I did quit once or twice, (dont know if its actually quit) more like a long hiatus. I usually stop from January to April, where Easter events interest me and bring me back to Runescape.

  • 2 weeks later...

If I (which is likely) it will be because of boredom...I just can't seem to find anything to do over long period on time (I.E. Summer or winter break). I was deciding to quit in Summer of this year though but i stayed because i got into hunter...now I'm on the verge of quitting...again...

I've quit to....boredom. I've noticed if I play for only 6 or less hours a week, however, that I do not get bored. It tends to wake away from social life if you play it too much, but my social life was down the drain even when I didn't play, so that doesn't apply to me :)
