NJE03
*Updated 11/18/2011*Updated 12/01/2011 My personal favourite place to train is the flesh crawlers found in Stronghold of Security. And having gathered over 20+ Million Defence Experience here and am currently in the process of getting 99 ranged here as well. I can assure you it works. Smile The great thing about Flesh Crawlers is they have very low strength and hit quite low (always less than 20). I can usually last around 4 hours on one load of food when meleeing, and around 2 hours with ranged. You are looking at around 30-40k experience per hour. The drops include plenty of gems, coins and VAST amounts of body runes. (I have gathered over 125k body runes here) Recommended levels:For the areas that include both flesh crawlers and zombies, 60+ defence would come in very useful. As for the area with only flesh crawlers, no defence is required, however the more the better (as with any monster). First you need your equipment: Melee:*Add rune gauntlets and either explorer's ring 4 or ring of devotion for the modern setup.*Gravite weapons are rather expensive to use, as they are degradable. I would not recommend them. Ranged:*As for the sighted longbow, It is too slow to be useful for training purposes (I have personally tested this). Next you will need food... I recommend one of the following options: 1) Bring a rod and feathers, fish from the river, cook in barbarian lodge on everlasting fire. 2) Buy kebabs 1 coin each from Al Kharid. (these heal anywhere from 0-30+) 3) Buy lobsters and bank in Edgeville. *If you have explorers ring 4, don't forget to get your daily food hamper from the Lumbridge cook! Your inventory may look something like this: *A gem bag is useful if you are fishing for your food and not banking, otherwise you will not need it since you will never get 28+ gems in a single trip.*Cornucopia would be worth using if fishing for food in the river, otherwise the effect is minimal. *Strength pots are not very useful in my opinion. They take up food space and have negligible impacts on xp rates (plus they are another expense). Now I drew on this map (thanks tip.it for map) for you to show you the best areas of flesh crawlers. :) The red circle is where the flesh crawlers are, the line indicates where to run when the aggressive wares off. Now you just sit back and rake in the experience. Hope this guide help you. Oathkeeper
Nice guide, but just a few things Maybe a comparison comparing other methods. Drops..(none i know) but still efficiency at certain levels, eg lots of food needed at around 60 def, getting less and less, till at high 70's where you only need 1 trout per aggression session (lol) and also, with the middle crawler spawn, you can run down to the south door, 99% of the time this will reset, otherwise just go through the south door, that will definately reset them. Maybe a guide V1.1?
viz94
2)Buy kebabs 1 coin each from Al Kharid. (these heal anywhere from 0-30+) they may also damage you. other then that not bad 6/10 cause there are many other guides with the exp per hour, etc. The Destiny FOR LIFE

runexa
Great guide 10 /10 i used this method once and will do it agian once my account is higher . Average exp per hour would be good And comparing them to the moss giants on Crandor where most high levels train these days in f2p . Another thing what level should i start doing this because on my first account i started at level 70 - 80 ( i got bored of Crandor ) but on my new account ( level 52 after 13 days ) when should i start ? Last but not least you should add more about fishing in barb village and what you should bring Grea guide : )

Kazel
Next you will need food. There is 2 main method I use for this... 1)This method requires 20 fishing - bring a rod and feathers, fish from the river, cook in barbarian lodge on everlasting fire. 2)The second option is to buy kebabs 1 coin each from Al Kharid. (these heal anywhere from 0-30+) Actually, kebabs heal anywhere from -4 to 30. Its possible to get a 'bad kebab' that damages you for 4 hp. SLAYERGEEK
