T'was two weeks before Christmas, and all through Runescape

 

 

 

Not a player had known what would soon be their fate.

 

 

 

The updates were posted on the website with care,

 

 

 

In hopes that all players would like what was there.

 

 

 

I logged onto Runescape and what did I see?

 

 

 

Four new updates were listed, ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅWonder what they could be?ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

When i seen mondays updates, i had to check twice to make sure i hadn't been stuck in some odd time warp and sent foward to April First. After that, i figured maybe somebody had hacked their website. I wish it had been one of those.

 

 

 

The crazy thing is, they will never kill cheating without shutting the game down all together, and you will never kill real world trading without stopping all trading and exchanging of items. Thats the thing about cheaters, they will find a way around it. They always have, they always will. I would like one example of how something ended ALL of any form of cheating without getting rid of a particular part of gameplay all together. It won't be to difficult for RWT to get around the 3k limit, hell I can think of several ways it could be done. All that it does is slow it down a little, at the expense of the rest of us. If you are the police trying to chase down criminals, its best to avoid harming innocent civilians. Jagex just nuked a entire town to get their criminals.

 

 

 

I'm going to stick around though. There is no way the trading limit is going to stay as they said. They aren't that stupid, they HAVE to know that its an awful idea to some extent.

 

 

 

As for pking, ahh pkers, we had our bouts, but for all your cruelty you NEVER deserved this. Not in a million years. I would give you a gift to ease the pain but, you know, trading restrictions, big brother is watching :anxious:.

Jagex is trying to make a better game for the players by making them quit... I'm not quiting, I'm staying. As ruined it can be, I'll be there. I just hope Jagex DOES fix this. They aren't ignorant to the point of losing many players (Though, compared to RS's 9mil players, that might seem nothing. Still a dent on the game).

 

Things I've enjoyed in the update: F2P Duel Arena and Wildy capes, and... nothing else. I'd find the Wildy a pleasure, if it weren't for those Revenants. What's the point in them, killing RWTers? Making the Wildy still dangerous? I'd prefer PKers over those stupid ghosts.

T'was two weeks before Christmas, and all through Runescape Not a player had known what would soon be their fate. The updates were posted on the website with care, In hopes that all players would like what was there. I logged onto Runescape and what did I see? Four new updates were listed, Wonder what they could be? Real world trading is bad, its evil they say A new Jagex fight against cheaters today! Real money for gold, their raking in lots. Kill all the autoers, kill all the bots! Removing unbalanced trades, *What the heck is that? Means all those merchants will never get their phat! Farewell birthday gifts, no more helping a friend. No more running nats, *Just where will it end? This 1st post was painful, yet I just pressed through. But I held my breath as I opened number 2. Trade and drop changes, seems like lots of chatter. I clicked on the link to see what was the matter. 3k gold pieces is now the trade limit. No more getting Barrows, unless millions are in it Drop parties are out, drop transfers are too. A gravestone is left if a Fire Giant kills you. No more getting rich when a noob makes a mistake. Those items are no longer yours for the take. I could not believe, in what was to be With an unsteady hand, I clicked post number 3. Wilderness changes? Please say its not so! Revenant ghosts? Now thats a low blow! Bounty Hunter, Bounty Hunter, Why is it multi? If you go solo, you surely will die. I PKd for a living, I guess thats now done. Jagex, you ruined it, its no longer fun. No more PKing, no more easy dough. No more Runescape, looks like its time to go If you liked this post, and I hope that you might. Copy and paste it, LETS PUT UP A FIGHT! Less money for those little Jagex lads.

 

Cancel membership, stop this new game,

 

We all agree that these new updates are lame.

 

Boycott Ruinedscape, stay off of it all,

 

These horrible updates will cause Jagex to fall,

 

Stay off of the game, and wait it all out,

They have no money without us, no doubt.

Wait for the staff to bring back Pking,

Now wait for these updates to be deleted,

 

So our joy of the game can now be repleted.

 

 

 

Stay off of Runescape, wait until Jagex cancels the Dec-10 updates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I totally agree with this ^.

 

We should stay off of RS2 until the new updates are removed. At one point, the amount of player's plummeted instantly down to 15,000. If some of us sacrifice our membership subscriiptions for a month, we can lower Jagex's profits, they may realize that their new updates has had MUCH more negatives than positives, and thus bring back the old RS2

It's a good idea, but unfortunately there is a possibility of many other people flooding to fill our vacancies. Best way to handle it is through demonstration, violent and peacable.

People need to learn to accept change, even if it's not beneficial for them. Jagex knew this update would deal a huge blow to the community, but it also deals a blow to the opposition--RWT. Like it or not we'll have to accept this update, and instead of rioting we should suggest ideas to Jagex in which they could improve the new wilderness, because incase you haven't noticed, the rioting isn't doing ANYTHING helpful.

Don't give us that bullcrap. Do you think everything should stay the same? Of course not. Jagex had better ways to deal with these problems than simply giving us these terrible updates. They need to change back, and soon. The condition RS is in now, thousands of players are quitting because of this. I go to work and attend college, and I deal with change all the time. Do you know why riots are happening? Because people are pissed off at Jagex, they are not their former selves. Riots never did a dam thing to convince anything to change, if you didn't want riots, Jagex shouldn't of caused the problem.

 

 

 

RWTs and macroers were always around, and like it or not they helped shape the Runescape economy. Without them it will crash, and it's likely that it already happened because of the GE and the new trading system. These updates are a joke. I suggest we all quit subscribing to Jagex until they feel that they are losing money. Only then would they ever think of changing things to the way they were. But I highly doubt it, because all Jagex is anymore is a money hungry company. They have earned millions alone through members. They should be giving us quality updates, not updates of quantity.

 

 

 

I'm gonna go move to WoW soon if Jagex doesn't get their act cleaned up. At least Blizzard cares about the content of their game as well as their own community.

If you want to move to WoW, that's great. Of course they <3 their players more, because it is 100% pay to play. RS gains money of F2P through advertising. It just being there is enough.

I am going to start off by saying this, I am quite annoyed and mad at these updates. They were for good reasons but as stated, at what cost? I just want to say some things about how I believe it is still going to survive.

 

 

 

No more trading, pking, dueling, etc. That is the jist of what has happened in the recent updates. It looks like it will become a single player game in a mmorpg. I feel like p2p has become f2p in this aspect. When I play f2p, I tend to play by myself. I gather resources and play for my own achord. I feel this has happened to p2p.

 

 

 

The problem with this is that it will eventually become a single player game in a sense. We have to earn our own money rather than earning it via a company of some sort or whatever. People will continue to play because they will be bored and play a game that could get rid of that boredum. The only difference is that p2p will become a f2p game with added features.

 

 

 

I did not play this game for this purpose. I quit back in July for more time to myself and just chill. I came back in September because of my friends. I played to help them out. I did this by doing clue scrolls and giving them money when they needed it or supplies during a quest. With the recent updates, it takes that part of the game which I loved obsolete. There is no reason to fight the updates, it is their game and they can do what they see fit. I rent my character out signed by the terms of agreement. They can have their character and all the items on it. I don't care about those things. The thing I cared for: the friends, the memories, and the fun we had are gone. Without being able to help any of them out, I might as well just download mIRC and chat away the times like I used to. All I can do is cheer them on whatever they do.

 

 

 

Players play for themselves now. I no longer see this game as a multi player game anymore. Almost no interaction happens between players. That is why I played, the multi player aspect, is no more in my head.

I quit a long time ago my friend (Summer of 2006 to be exact). I tried coming back to play Runescape, and now it's never going to happen because of the direction Jagex wanted to go. Looks like this will be a Black Christmas for this year. No Party Hats, no Santa Hats, no Yo-Yos, nothing.

Whell, as my grandfather always said "Kid, you' re special. You don' t bother anyone, you don' t ask for anything, you give everything you can. Watch out, people will take advantage of this". Some did, I just left them alone, never to reply to their calls. But many players I watched grow, from simple level 3 new players, eager to play this game, to the mighty 126, who surpassed me in every combat level, yet he still called me "Sir". Allthough "Sir" was more of a joke, he really looked at me as a teacher. When he fought monsters, I fished food for him, I gave him armour and weapons, runes too.

 

 

 

Now, I can' t even give my friends a couple of lobsters. Allthough I very much enjoyed helping new players, supporting them and helping them in any way possible, this is now impossible. I am stuck with runes, food, armour I can' t give away... Anyone who knows me, knows that I rarely keep anything for myself. But, like Mirrorforced, I loved talking to friends. Now I have but 3 friends left, everyone else left... Allthough I like the downfall of bots, I just don' t like the downfall of non-skilling honest players.

 

 

 

I will stay, I' m going to keep with this game to the end, that' s my final goal. But I fear I may just log in one day, to find Falador half empty, the servers running at half speed. Or, I may just log in one day, to find an imporved Rune Scape, where PKing lives on, merchanting exploiting the small cap, a wilderness without any reverants, and finally, a new Rune Scape. This is not the end, rather a fresh start, a blank piece of paper. All that JAGeX did with this piece of paper, is that they took the pencil in their hand and started listening to the constructive criticism, drawing a new, better picture. I just hope that happens.

I'm happy with them, no more bots and unbalanced trade is going to get changed next month anyways. bounty hunter isn't bad either. :
