dan2012 Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 Ok, maybe that's a little harsh, but i'm getting a bit fed up with it now. I've been playing the game since 2005 and as you can see by my signature below, i've not spent it messing around. However, i have never had a decent drop (i.e. better than rune) in my three years of playing the game, and it's not for lack of effort. I killed fire giants from level 40 range to level 70 range (i was level 80-odd at the time, i started range late) and my best drop to date is a rune scimmy. Just the ONE rune scimmy. Now as you can see, that's a lot of fire giants. I did slayer for 6 months non-stop so i could get to level 65 and kill dust devils. I was level 99 when i started killing them and i'm now level 104. Fair enough i've not killed JUST dust devils, but i've killed enough to warrant a decent drop (i.e. a d chain). My best drop? either a handful or Rune Javelins or some Rune Arrows a few times. I did a load of barrows runs when it first started, apparently there was a mistake in that you had a 50% chance of getting a d helm - what did i get in my first 50 runs? Runes. No dragon armour, no barrows items. I absolutely love doing clue scrolls and i regularly spend time killing harpie bug swarms so i can do the level two clues - on my best day i did 12 clue scrolls in one day! my best reward? God Pages. :notalk: although having said that i have got all three completed god books as a result of clues. And just to round things off nicely.... these are drops received by my r/l girlfriend abbie372, who's been playing for about 18mths: level two clue scroll at lvl25 combat - ranger boots level two clue scroll at lvl40 combat - ranger boots fire giants at lvl80 combat - dragon spear iron dragons at lvl95 combat - dragon plateskirt numerous barrows runs - full ahrim, full guthan armour, full dharok. i just want a dragon drop. :XD: RSN: d35h1_5k4t3r Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(1 leg 2 skirts 1 med and a spear.) do some metal drags! :wall: you will get a drop if you know the best ways of killing them :wink: . However, you do have afew of your numbers out of line, like the 50% dragon med drop (more like 5%) and expecting to get a d chain from dusties without killing over 20k of them before beggining to wonder whats up. jackal_55 Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 i've been playing since '03 and i've gotten 4 d meds from barrows, and 1 skirt from steel drags, which i sold at a 400k loss, because of all the pots i'd used. i think i've gotten 4 rune chain drops from black demons, and 1 rune scimmy from fire giants, and i've never gotten a rare/semi rare drop from a slayer monster. i did get ranger boots from a clue once, when i was level 77, but back then it was hard to get 750k for them. other than that, the most valuable thing i've gotten from a clue would be a sara kite, sold it for 500k, and i went from 80 to 100 combat training on jellies, doing every clue drop i got, so theres no telling how many clues i've done. oh yeah i sold my yellow p hat for 26m. :roll: clap clap for the handicap. #-o wish i'd kept it. nudist hippy vegan elves who inexplicably wear leather. Nabbagad Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 Hey I'm not very lucky either, I've been playing for nearly 4 years and it took me 3 and 1/2 years to get my first dragon drop which was a spear (nearly impossible to sell and worth under 100k). I had also killed over 2k iron/steel drags without a dragon drop until my last iron drag task from slayer where I got a D skirt which has been my best drop on Runescape. (300k wow!) The fact is, some people are lucky and others arn't. All you can do it keep on trying... C110 Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 Ur not that unlucky... Lots (and i mean lots) off lvl 3 clue's best reward, sara dhide body. I got my first dragon left half @ 88 slayer. Im still waiting for my first dragon med. Over 1100 iron dragons without a dragon drop atm. Just don't give up. Kiriyama Posted January 3, 2008 Share Posted January 3, 2008 I went from 79-88 Range mostly at Dust Devils, thats around 2mil Range Exp. You don't get much good drops, although you do get quite a few alchables. Kill Black Dragons with Mith Bolts (make them yourself) and Rune Crossbow, that way you don't spend much except time making them, and its quite steady profit selling hides and bones. Don't go expecting a Visage, they are rare. (Although I was joking with a mate about what I'd do if I got one, I showed him). Might be worth your time to stockpile on Eggs, evil chicken's lair is a good place to kill them. Take like 2 Lobsters or something with you just incase.
