The 3k Limit is Finalized - Everyone's Thoughts

Recommended Posts

*** ATTENTION: This is not a rant, not meant to be a rant. This is a general discussion of the problem - I mean, situation - with the new finalized limit. DO NOT FLAME! DO NOT BASH OTHERS IN THIS THREAD! MODS WILL SEE TO ANY RULE-BREAKERS AFTER A PROMPT REPORTING! Thank you. ***

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, the 3k gp per 15 minutes limit is finalized for everyone in f2p servers. I don't mind it, per se as to my goals dont need more than 3k per 15 mins per person, as I can get anything i need in the ge. But, I do have a problem, major one at that.

I've been RCing. Got from 26 to 43 in 3 days. I'm extremely happy I found the GE to pay for about 6k ess to get to 44 rc. I'm extremely glad I have enough money to go to World 16, the f2p air running world, and go rc. I'm glad I have enough money to pay for trips (I pay at most 1k).

But, ever since the new limit has been finalized, the lower-lvled players don't seem to understand. It's funny too, how these lower-lvled players also act like lower-aged children, while the med-to-high lvled players are the older, mature players, telling the lower-lvls that we can't pay them at least 1k for the trips.

These lower-lvled runners bring 25 ess unnoted, a little gp, couple airs, some noted ess. But, a common theme for most these runners has been the fact that they think we rcers can pay the promised pay of 1k, 1.5k, even 2k or 3k. They don't take in the fact that there's the limit on it.

I know in December, we still had the ability (anyone I believe that had more than 5 qp, or a cmb lvl higher than 15, let's say) could trade normally without restriction, between like players. To the lower-lvls (cmb lvl 3 to 15), they had the restriction on them (of course, to eliminate any last traces of RWTers).

I find myself to pay as low as 200 a trip, for the lower lvls. I wish I could pay 1k per trip for them, and I voice it to them. All I hear is "More!", "OMG!", "Noob!" Sure, I even got frustrated and called these immature players (who obviously have not paid attention to the front page) "noobs". I know I'm not alone, and I know many of the older, higher-lvled players are also losing their cool, not just in RCing airs, but other skiller events.

I know that p2p have up to 30k in trade. Not much, considering dragon items, barrows, etc. cost millions. I know, I have 93qp and I'd have 10.2k max/15 mins, if I were p2p. But I'm f2p. I just want to know how the majority of f2p tip.iters are faring in the new finalized 3k limitation. What do you think?

--------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: For those of you still learning the new system, it's 3k gp gain to you limited in 15 minutes' duration. You can give a lot of money, to many people, even more than 3k, as long as it's within the limit of the person you are trading.

Ex. I rc, stationed at world 16 air altar inside. People usually trade noted for unnoted (25 for 25) +gp fee to the runners. Avg pay = 1k.

Every 1 minute = 200 gp increase to limit. Therefore, if you've been paid 3k within 15 minutes, you can get more money paid to you:

= 200 gp per minute.

= 400 gp in 2 minutes

= 600 gp in 3 minutes.

= 800 gp in 4 minutes.

= 1k gp per 5 minutes.

= 2k gp per 10 minutes.

= 3k gp per 15 minutes.

This is assuming you don't trade right after you've gotten 3k in a trade already.

EDIT: This is a pic of the proof. I just got on to W16, almost to 44 rc. And I get pm'ed from ppl I dont know, which reminds me to put priv. chat on Friends...

problemwithtradesystemod5.png

Now, I've been getting some conflicting reports that I have a limit on how much I can give. I know I can give only the amount it says on the limit of the person I'm trading. Can someone please verify this? Or is it that I'm giving out too much money to too many ppl? I don't think I'm doing something wrong.

EDIT: OK, I've confirmed it myself. The limitation is based on how much you give . The 200gp a minute increase remains. Wow. I'm shocked. I thought it was the person recieving that got limited. Ok, we're def. screwed. Pardon my french. JaGEx needs to reword it to:

can only give out up to atm.

Much easier to read and understand.

I'm F2P and i think it's really stupid. :x

Well, if it DID work that way in F2p, we wouldn't be ablt to trade much anyways. You can gte like, 40 qp in F2P?

Its plain [developmentally delayed]ed.

Some J mods have announced that summoning will be F2P.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

well, i was made after the update. (by the way i believe it was only people who were made after the announcement that were restricted.)

but anyways, ive been playing for about 2 and a half weeks and its fairly easy to deal with. ive made a lot of money, gotten good skills, etc.

i actually don't mind it. if anything, all these updates are making cash raising more bearable.

Its ok, it got rid of the RWTers. I don't mind it anymore since i'm selling and buying off the GE. I just miss that i can't give out presents to my friends anymore.

that was most likely not true, and if summoning IS f2p, then Jagex will only make it useful to a certain point (another user mentioned that runecrafting is f2p but most is only open to members).

If it's f2p at all. That picture could be easily fake.

It could be a fake, but two different players (at least) had screenshots of a Moderator saying it.

It'll probably be greatly limited in F2P, but still available.

I really don't mind at all. All it has done is reduced the smart beggars who realized that it is not worth bothering me for 3k anymore. Other than gift giving and world 16 airs, I haven't run into any downsides. I don't really mind the gift giving because giving gifts is basically trading the same amount of gp between two people and I'm okay with not doing it. As for air running, many people have offered new ideas and I am sure Jagex will realize this. If they recognize the fact that world 16 and 99 are for running ess, I'm sure they won't stop it for some silly update.

Sadly there are still many dumb beggars :(.

Already had a few people asking me for money, and even when I told them about the update, they said they knew and still wanted at least 3k.

It's annoying enough that the over-3-K limit only applies to P2P (but since most bots are F2P, yada yada yada, I can get the point of why they made it this way).

But the worst is that if two people have different limits, the smallest applies, regardless of which one is transferring the wealth. Now THIS rule is illogical, unjustified, and plain dumb.

Logically the limit should apply to the giver (by giver I mean the person who gives more wealth than he gets in a trade, and the reciever is the one who gets excess wealth from a trade). Logically, only the giver's quest points should determine the maximum excess gold they can give to the other person, regardless of how many QP the recieving person has). Two reasons for that:

- Vast majority of gold farmers have low QP, so they'd be limited to the 3K anyways

- Most of those who BUY gold are actually likely to have high QP since they will probably be mains

What's the point of having the RECIEVER's QP be taken into account? It does nothing to stop bots, but does a lot to frustrate honest players. Pray tell me, what is the advantage of my high QP if the people I trade with have low QP? Having me restrict buying stuff from low-QP players can be justified because of RWT, but restricting me from selling my stuff to others who have lower QP than me makes absolutely no sense.

I do however see some logic to having even the highest level cap at about 30K. You can say, "almost no RWTer will have 250 QP, so why not let the honest players be able to trade 100k+?". Well, here's why:

Remember that the time limit between trade timer resets is only 15 minutes. This limit is intented to prevent lump RWT purchases. Almost nobody will stand around for weeks transferring gold from a bot, when they could have made more skilling in the same period of time.

But now consider that an RWTer has a middleman, a person specifically trained with high QP. Only one middleman bot for hundreds of regular bots. The RWTer can then set up a macro to transfer gold from bots to middlemen, however slow it takes, because they can just have macro programs running for weeks doing that. RWTers will mine gold and slowly dump it on the middleman. Over the course of weeks, the middleman could accumulate millions of gold through lots of small trades with bots. And when the time comes, the middleman trades with the buyer, and since he has high QP, he can transfer the money very quickly if the limit was 100k+ as many ask for. And he can transfer by trade, duel, or whatever, so you can't limit trading while allowing million-gp bets in the duel arena.

Yes, you can say that Jagex can track and ban the middleman, but they also could track and ban bots before, and we all seen how little effective that was. Jagex's objective is to create a system that police itself, rather than having to police it as before, or they are back at square 1, and all they'd achieve is more restrictions with zero benefit to stop RWT.

So (while I still staunchly disagree with Jagex's changes, just so you don't quote me as being contradictory), I can at least see the logic behind keeping maximum trade limit at 30k, rather than hunrdreds or millions.

The restriction of the RECIEVERs quest points still makes absolutely no sense. Only the giver's quest points should determine the maximum gold transfer allowed.

Live free or die. First option is exhausted, so guess what remains?

Excellent thoughts. This will allow charity, (perhaps?) drop parties, and last but certainly not least the ability to give your friends any gift you please. Jagex should listen to stuff like this.

Say I were to make a trade and I paid 3k for a law rune, and 3k is my max. Does that mean I am not able to trade again for 15 mins?

No it just means you couldn't pay over the actual price of an item minus the current price of laws (around 300) at the Grand Exchange. So you could say get 5700 ish gp from another player and then give away 6000gp and so on.
