chenw Posted June 13, 2008 Share Posted June 13, 2008 I had to painfully burthorpe Kalphites immediately after obtaining my Slayer Helmet (which totally owns spectres btw), so i am working on my streak again. currently on Greaters and i think around 230 points on my name. Slayer ring is coming next but I have a suspicious feeling that I am gonna get kalphites as my task straight afterwards lol. My banlist will probably consist of Kalphites, Hellhounds, Suqahs and Steels (the last until they add in more steel spots) 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. Chapp3rs Posted June 13, 2008 Share Posted June 13, 2008 now THIS is why you keep a steel task, i used to burthorpe these, but a little while ago i finally did a task of 13 for this nice little suprise as for scabarites, with the right spot in the sophanem dungeon they are good exp and crimsons ive blocked hellys because they are too busy and no real drops, gonna block gargs and tbirds because i dislike the constant clicking, and i'm always forgetting my rock hammer anyway - last one will probably stay empty for now, no complaints on the others :oops: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I hate them myself but they're great exp.Just bring a cannon to scare people away and then melee when they leave.It's underhanded but it works :ugeek: The reason for blocking great tasks like greaters, kalphites, and hellhounds is the crowds. I also have blocked Hellhounds, again due to crowds and dogs in general irritate me. I would probably black Steels unless they add more steel dragons. It gives you the bonuses of: - [bleep]y Helmet First of all, you don't even need a helmet to go to ToG, thanks to the 2 step skip. Second, who kills these anyways? They give good XP but have horrid drops, and come in low amounts. Duradel assigns these, but they're weak anyways - Nose Peg No benefit, because Salve (E) has a higher bonus than Black Mask, and works on Aberrant Spectres. They do not stack, so the Salve E will take effect, and you might as well be wearing a normal nosepeg. Fury+slayer helm > nosepeg+salve(e) Plus the new dungeon allows you to cannon them. - Earmuffs No benefit, for the same reason as Nose Peg. Also, the fact that unless you're going to the new slayer dungeon, Banshees have a whopping 22 HP, and the attack and strength bonus does very little. Indeed, it is very helpful for the new banshees. Btw, they are undead so you can in fact use a salve(e). And all attack bonusses help. - Facemask The only real benefit IMO. However, most people kill dust devils either for charms or camping for Dragon Chains. The mask has no benefit when you're not slaying. Neither does the black mask. #-o But the slayer helm when not used on a task, still has the def bonusses. So you use less food. Also, it doesn't benefit range... which is still a problem I'm amazed Jagex hasn't fixed. Why doesn't Black Mask give range a +15% boost? You can't claim it's bad when people on NON slayer monsters would be using a Neit, which has the same defense bonuses. (and shes like 10 steps from the house portal :D ) agree with that completely. I am just using sumona all the time (will swop to duradel every 10 tasks). Yes, tasks are shorter and you get less points, but so much better than having to spend points on skipping tasks regularly with Duradel. I really like this new slayer master, my only bad task so far has been a pile of turoths, but I can handle the odd bad task from her. Not even sure that I can find 4 tasks from her that I want to never have again... I might even get my house changed, or simply get the slayer rings instead as I wont be spending all my points on swopping tasks.
