This is a collection of all the "Did You Know"s posted on Tip.It, at the end of Editorials and Letters to the Editor. Also, many players have submitted their own facts. Enjoy!

"Did You Know..." of the week!

... that when stealing from stalls, clicking twice on a stall will allow you to steal the object even if spotted by a guard. (Thanks Dark_Spirus!)

... that you will now automatically refill your Ectophial after you empty it and teleport to the Ectofunctus?

[hide=Skilling Tips and Tricks]... that while wearing a Ring of Charos (a), from the Garden of Tranquility quest, the Blast Furnace only costs 1250gp to use? That's half the normal cost. Of course, it's free if you are level 60 Smithing or higher, and also if you're just operating the machine without smelting anything, but you might still get you some Smithing XP. (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that the Rellekka area has everything you need for making Glass? Seaweed spawns, and if you have completed their Trials, a Sandpit, a Furnace, and the ability puchase a Glassblowing Pipe. (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that Cooking Gauntlets reduce the chance of burning Lobsters, Swordfish, and Sharks, but the range in Lumbridge Castle reduces the chance of burning for ALL food? (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that non-members can fish their Lobsters, Tuna and Swordfish now a LOT faster using the Bounty Hunter bank and the Fishing spots on the eastern shore of the Wilderness? Just be sure to protect yourself as this area is teeming with Revenants. (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... if you talk to a farmer after checking the health of your tree, you can pay them 200 coins to chop the tree down for you! Although this saves time, you do not get the roots like normal.

... that you can pay farmers watching your crops with noted items?

... that Monkfish give more fishing experience than Sharks?

... that you can replace lost abyss pouches via the fairy ring abyss area - no skulling, no multi-combat, no PK risk, and Abyss demons here are not hostile to low levels.

... that you can still make tele tablets and enchantment tablets at POH lecterns when you are on lunar or ancient magics. You do not need to be on the related spell set to focus a portal, either.

...that rune essence pouches can be repaired without taking them with you to the Abyss? The Zamorak Mage in the centre of the Abyss will still repair your pouches even if you leave them in your bank.

... that you can buy Plant Cure from the farmers at the allotments for 25gp, as opposed to 40gp at the farming stores right next to the allotment?

... that you can get a new small essence pouch from the Zamorak mage in the centre of the Abyss, rather than killing abyssal creatures for it?

... that as well as the easiest route to a spinning wheel, the town of Neitiznot has the closest furnace to a bank in all of RuneScape?

...that the General Store north-west of Tai Bwo Wannai village un-notes Essence for 2gp each? Just use the noted Essence on the store-owner, pick an amount, and you're done. Note that you should NOT sell them noted and then buy them back, it will cost you dearly. (Thanks to the Tal Shiar Alliance!)

...that fixing Barrows armour in your house gives a small amount of smithing xp (Thanks msiGC!)

...That when thieving in Ardougne, you can use the Town Crier to block the guards from attacking you while stealing cakes from the eastern stall just by talking to him when he is beside you? Just click on him everytime you steal a cake and he will stay forever, until you leave, of course! (This is especially good way for skillers and low levels to not ever get attacked while training thieving.) (Thanks Bad911!)

Using the Town Crier to block guards

v4mic2.jpg

... that using the Swordfish Gloves from Fist of Guthix, you gain the same xp per hour as fly fishing in Shilo and more cash! (Thanks msiGC!)

...that The Spell Charge used to be the fastest and most expensive way to train mage. People just had to click on the spell as fast as they could and watch their xp go up in seconds. This was later changed and now you have to wait a few minutes before you can use the spell again. (Thanks msiGC!)

... that Monkfish not only give more exp than sharks, but are faster than lobsters putting them on par with fly fishing. Until about level 95 they work out faster cash than sharks too. (Thanks Tritous!)

... that there is a fly fishing spot at the east side of the lake north of the Seers bank. As the spots do not move about much, it is at least on par with Shilo's fly fishing spots. (Thanks Tritous!)

... that flighting arrows and bolts can be done as quickly as you click. However, tipping them can only be done up to 10 sets at a time. (Thanks Tritous!)

...that F2Pers can now use the Lumbridge Explorer's Ring to fish faster and cheaper on Karmanja? Use the boat to get there, and just cabbage-port back when you're done fishing. There are unlimited charges, so you can do this all day!

...that all ores get lighter when smelted, even gold and silver? (Thanks penguinpoop!)

...that hunter catches such as Salamanders have no drop option, but rather a "release option"? This means they won't appear on the floor like normal items. However, if you give a Beast of Burden a salamander, and dismiss the familiar, the salamander will drop on the floor like a normal item does. (Thanks to zaaps1!)

...that when you're hunting Big Chompy Birds, you should bring partially made Wild Pies to add the Raw chompies to? This significantly reduces the weight as unfinished Wild Pies weigh next to nothing, and a Raw chompy weighs about 10kg. (Thanks to the Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... That with the Pawya and Grenwall update to Hunter, the last "useless" produce that Farming can give you finally also has a use other then food? You can use a Papaya now to boxtrap a Pawya. While most Farming Products can be used in Cooking, Herblore, other Farming uses, or even Summoning and Quests, The high level Papaya Fruit Tree produced food that was not used for anything other then Farming payment. Even flowers help with Farming, preventing crops from going bad.(Thanks to the Tal Shiar Alliance!)

...that your defense against Magic attacks is based more on your Magic level rather then your Defense level? To protect yourself from Binds and Blasts it might be worth investing into studying the arcane arts. (Thanks to Necromagus!)

... that the Ring of Exploration (Lumbridge Achievement Diary reward) when worn has a small chance of creating additional Water, Earth, Fire and Air runes? The additional runes also provide you the XP you would normally gain when crafting them! (Special thanks to the Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that with a requirement of only 30 Cooking, the Karambwan has almost the highest XP yield when cooking it? You get a whopping 190 XP when you cook it thoroughly. Do not attempt to eat a poorly cooked one, it will poison you, although when ground to a paste, it can be applied to spears to poison them. (Special thanks to the Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... the new Dagon'hai robes are the best mage robes that offer a prayer bonus. The top and bottom offer 20 and 15 mage bonuses (equal to mystic robes), but also have a +2 prayer bonus each. Requires 40 magic to wear. (Thanks to wyvren2000!)

... that if you use any item on a Leprechaun, the farming item exchange screen will appear? (Thanks to Hantoumei!)

... that it is a good idea to have 2 identical bows on you while Firemaking in Barbarian Style? If you accidently click it to wield the bow, you still have the exact some one in your inventory. (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that only a handful of skills are NOT used in Stealing Creation? Farming, Slayer, and Firemaking are the ONLY three skills not used or otherwise represented in this unique and versatile minigame. (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that an Amulet of Glory with charges and wielded, also generates more Gems on Free to Play worlds when Mining? So if you are Mining on a site that is normally busy on P2P, realise that there is no difference in speed or amount of gems, no matter what world you mine on! (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that mining Gems while wearing a charged Amulet of Glory , significantly decreases the number of "hits" you need to get the Gem? Someone 10 levels higher without a Glory will lose the race with someone who HAS a charged Glory. (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that the NPC contact spell on Lunar Magicks that lets you talk to the Larry the Penguin guy, lets you cash in penguin points as well. That means you can now level up wherever you want, without waiting for genies or books! (Thanks to Zombs!)

[hide=In-Game Facts and Tips]... that Noterazzo buys tradable items from you for the High Alchemy price? It's just the first item, so do not sell 10 at once. Also beware of Revenants visiting the Bandit Camp. (Thanks to the Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that there are two major exports from F2P to P2P (sold in F2P and bought in P2P)? Free players have always cut thousands of Yew Logs and sold them to Fletchers who then alched the bows for money. But another, somewhat overlooked product is Gold Ore. Best mined at the Crafters Guild, these sell currently for more then 400 coins per piece and cover the cost of a Falador Teleport nicely. So next time you're mining, mine the Gold. (Thanks to the Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that the people in Tao Bwo Wannai will have a Trading Stick in their left hand if they are ready again to give you some? (Thanks to the Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that the last great war of the old Wilderness was the one that Tip.it beat all other fansites in? It was also host to the greatest deathmatch ever, numbering well higher then 800, some say more than one thousand (the previous one was 250 people). (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that Ava's Attractor and Accumulator, while generating Iron and Steel Arrows and objects and retrieving your arrows, does NOT work when you have metal armor on. (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance!)

... that there is a Fairy Ring slightly west of Port Phasmatys? You can use it to get out of that murky swamp to go to Zanaris, and the code to travel to it is A-L-Q. A Dramen/Lunar staff is still required. (Thanks to The Tal Shiar Alliance and Meme79!)

... that Tuna Potatoes heal 22 hitpoints in 1 bite! Thats 2 more then a Shark, and it does not require a high Fishing or Cooking level (only 68 Cooking). Be prepared to put some work into it though, there are quite a few ingredients and steps to follow! (Thanks Ts_Stormrage!)

When you're smelting you use less run energy carring the smelted bars then if you run with the ores. (not sure if this is true with gold or silver)

They are building a giant a giant underground crumpet factory. Why crumpets? Because they're European, and everyone knows the average Europeans diet is 51.012% crumpets. This is how Jagex plans to take over Europe, and eventually the world.

That's pretty much a given, because you always end up with less bars than ores.

......That the Rubber Chicken weapon gives -100 bonuses and has a chance of slipping from your grasp and landing on the floor?

......That the Holiday items: Reindeer hat, Rubber Chicken, and the comb

ination of the entire Chicken Set Clothing used with the emote "flap" will produce key animations. Same with the Sleepy hat in P2p, the Elvis suit, and others.

......That the Wise Old Man already had a party hat before he blew open a giant hole in the Draynor Bank? So he must have two now....

P.S. let me think of more, i just got this off the top of my head.

......That the fighting tree outside Draynor Manor was once used to kill and scam starting player's runes?

......That the most used items to scam F2ps were the Muddy Key and Polished Buttons.

......That there is a deposit box in every F2p bank except Al-Kharid bank and the Eastern Varrok Bank.

......That your "Run" button used to be Gigantic and very easy to click. When Jagex changed it, there was a huge protest from pkers.

.......That the Varrok center fountain used to be tiny, the size of the fountains found in the varrok palace courtyard?

.......That the Varrok Church didn't always have sleeping people in it, and it was once empty?

:-# Whats with all my random facts, lol. I haven't contributed to skilling tips yet....so...here goes.

......That when thieving in Ardougne, you can use the Town Crier to block the guards from attacking you while stealing cakes from the eastern stall just by talking to him when he is beside you? Just click on him everytime you steal a cake and he will stay forever, until you leave of course! (This is especially good way for skillers and low levels to not ever get attacked while training thieving.)

[hide=For Example, It might take a few tries to get the hang of it.]v4mic2.jpg[/hide]

(just found this out)

......That there is a song called "Fishing"?

Using the Swordfish Gloves from Fist of Guthix, you gain the same xp per hour as fly fishing in shilo and more cash!

The Spell Charge used to be the fastest and most expensive way to train mage. People just had to click on the spell many times and they would watch their xp go up in seconds. This was later changed and now you have to wait a few minutes before you can use the spell again.

Corrections and comments:

the lumbridge range only effects low level food. tests have shown that it doent tend to make a difference to the high level food, at least non that is noticable. Cooking gauntlets affect more than just those three, they also affect monkfish, I cant vouch for what else they help with.

monkfish not only give more exp than sharks, but are faster than lobsters putting them en par with fly fishing. until about lvl 95 they work out faster cash than sharks too

- Ones worth adding:

Bones to Peaches is a very valuable spell. Once unlocked it can turn a whole inventory of bones into peaches (heals 8) with a single cast.

There is a fly fishing spot at the east side of the lake north of seers bank. As the spots do not move about much it is at least en par with Shilo's fly fishing spots

flighting arrows and bolts can be done as quickly as you click. However, tipping them can only be done up to 10 sets at a time.

hope these help

Thanks for most of these, I'll add them. However, about the Lumby range, I usually find the Tal Shiar Alliance to be very reliable, so if you could come up with some more evidence to your claim, I'll be glad to change it, but as for now, I'm leaving it out.

Removing num lock in your keyboard, you can use the numbers 2,4,6,8 to move your runescape screen

I don't have any hard evidence, but I must say I've certainly never noticed it lower the no burn threashhold. My connection is a little haywire atm so I can't check exactly but IIRC that info was something I saw on runehq.

I at least found a couple of things I didnt know on this list. Certainly paying the farmers to cut down my willows and maples is useful :)

nice guide

you may want to add this:

If you press f1,f2,f3,etc... you can change which section of your ingame menu you are on?

(f1 is attack style, f2 is your skills menu, f3 is your quest journal, f4 is your inventory, f5 is your worn equipment menu, f6 is your prayer menu, f7 is your spellbook, f8 is your friends list, f9 is your ignore list.) (thanks to saif \' )
