What Have I Missed?

Ever get tired of seeing these subjects posted all over the place by players who've been away from RS for a while?

Well having just come back from a 6 month absence myself, I can see why they would ask. Runescape is updated so often that it's hard to keep up. Of course, some updates are better than others, which brings me to my suggestion...

Update Rating System:

  • * Would work almost the same way as YouTube video ratings.

    * Each game update will have a star rating based on player votes

* Poor

** Fair

*** Good

**** Very Good

***** Awsome!

  • * Votes cannot be made until after a week (to reduce people who haven't tried it, or are just bitter about something)

    * A new header would be added to the Updates page allowing users to list the updates according to Star Ratings

All Categories - Game Updates - Website - Shop

Customer Support - Technical - Behind the Scenes - STAR RATINGS

This would be valuable for Jagex too as they can view at a glance which updates have been the most popular.

p.s. I tried posting this on the RSOF, but like most suggestions, it lasted about 20 seconds before being dropped to another page lol. Such a pointless forum lol

Harrington, I support this idea.

Sad to say, I've experienced this, as well as not being able to properly convey my feelings about some of the updates. (Jagex really blew it when they didn't allow F2P some minimal forum abilities.) So this would be a definite blessing to the RS Community. :)

If this suggestion actually lived and jagex made it I doubt f2p would be able to vote, or they would only be able to vote about updates that are f2p too.

I like it, but I don't think anyone is actually going to vote for this. People vote in polls because they hope it will benefit them in the future, what use will it be voting for a past update?

It would give those others who are returning an idea of the community's opinion on how an update fared around release time and a while after, which can be extremely helpful in deciding how to play next. :geek: ... That is quite much why I support this update. Resuming after a break without any idea what's happened can be frustrating. <.<

So, now that you have a better understanding of the issue, would you like to help support this too? :-s

If people are too lazy to read the front page of Runescape, what gives you the impression that they will read it if there are ratings.

Also, with how many whiny kids and trolls that play this game, it'll be pretty hard when 95% of the updates are rated at the lowest possible.
