Yawn, another WW2 game? I'm getting pretty tired of "fighting the good fight" over and over.

What are you, a Nazi? That's no way for a self-respecting person to talk about the most important war in Earth's history! Unless you're getting paid to say otherwise. Watch your back, soldier boy, unless you want it ripped off and fed to the dogs. Don't bother trying to run away from this kerfuffle you've kicked up, either. My pistol's aimed straight at that treacherous son-of-a-[bleep] head, and I don't hesitate to shoot.

I sure hope that Dustys parts was sarcasm. He probably meant he wanted to fight on the nazi side for once, I agree as I find the "good guys" side pretty boring now days.

^That's prerendered right? not the actual gameplay?

Most probaly.

first trailer, its Cod 4 but in world war 2

http://kotaku.com/5018540/call-of-duty-5-first-trailer

Its looking like thsi will be a side franchise to call of duty with it just being world at war, so they release one of these while infinity ward release the proper one :P

Don't understand how you can label the game like that without even playing it and just because its in WW2 its gonna be rubbish? I reckon the storyline will actually be better than the far fetched terrorist one of COD4.

Treyarch's making it. Instant fail.

Ditto.

I agree as well...cod 3 was the worst cod game, maybe even the worst ww2 game...though I did not like the other ones other than 4...WW2 games are way to boring...

COD5 better have some kick [wagon] multiplayer like 4

No, you will give me a copy of COD5 with edges like those of a chainsaw, and I shall throw it into the head of whoever had the bright idea of handing the game over to Treyarc

Like I said before, it isn't just treyarch making it, They are passing the game over to IW every now and then for testing, evaluation, etc... From the looks of this interview they are really working hard to come up to par with CoD4, You guys just need to have a little faith. I believe that this will succeed and will probably be one of the best games in the franchise. It's fresh and original, I haven't seen many other games set their story in WW2 pacific.

They ARE using the EXACT same engine that CoD4 was made in, so it's going to be the same basic game with different skins, weapons, AI, etc. In the interview it says that the AI is going to be one of the most advanced with enemies playing strategically compared to how you are playing. Enemys from level 1 will act different to enemies in the last level. When they fear defeat they will do almost anything to take down as many people as they can, sometimes acting in suicidal ways :D

And the trailer looked [bleep]ing awesome :D (I downloaded it from xbox and watched in HD, and it looks great)

Far fetched. And Treyarch have said that teh reason for no specific numbering is that this may become the side franchise to infinity wards modern warfare games, the 2 year development cycle on each mean sthey can pump one call of duty game out a year.

Oh and judging by the contents a lot of that is running on the engine since its a modified infinity ward engine.

I personally don't see how you can make a WW2 FPS as good as a modren-time FPS, simply because we would find the weapons boring. What this really needs is a balance between strategy and ease of play, the strategy for the hardcore players, ease for the casual players. COD4 pulls off this balance very well, although that is not to say that it is without faults. I think that a WW2 version of COD4 will inolve much more strategy than the current one, because you'd have less ammo, less accurate, less powerful, and overall crappier weapons. At the same time, if you want to get into realism, the survival of these wounds would be less because of the medical care that would be available.

I really just think that COD5 will not be as good as COD4 because of the concept.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

It looks cool kind of...

But it does not look to me like a WWII game...it looks like its a Vietnam game...just the locale....

Looks like we'll be able to climb trees as well.

But I hope they redo the flame animations, they look like something out of Renegade.

Ya they probably will, in this book it says that flames will act a lot like in real life, spreading accross the fields, devouring tall grass, trees, and humans :D

See the thing is, I'm not actually talking about the "most important war in Earth's history". I'm talking about games that are based on said war. And when a new one comes out once a month for almost 4-5 years straight, it does get pretty boring playing them. Oh and I'd watch who exactly you start throwing around accusations of being a Nazi and a "trecherous son-of-a-[bleep], considering I have family that fought in both World Wars on the Allied side.
