They remind of me the GH:On Tour notes for the DS, which I find really unappealing :| They look too bulky. Also, I just noticed that they added SP notes when your in star power, just like in Rock Band (around 1:35 in the Satch Boogie video). That video made me so much more excited to get this game, playing on the Strat makes Rock Band guitar so much less enjoyable then it should be. Although I'm not sure if the timing window is a little more lenient in RB2...nevertheless it'd still be a lot harder compared to GH3.
