What do you think Jagex does with it's money?

So I got to thinking what does Jagex do with it's money? I figure they get about 5 million $$$ (usd) a month in gross. We can probably say that they spend 1-2 mil on taxes and another mil or so in fees. (i.e. credit card processing pay pal the like) but where does the rest (2-3 mil) go?

Obvious other locations of spending:

Staff

Hosting

All thoughts welcome.

They are building a giant a giant underground crumpet factory. Why crumpets? Because they're European, and everyone knows the average Europeans diet is 51.012% crumpets. This is how Jagex plans to take over Europe, and eventually the world.

They bathe in it.

They have a large olympic size swimming pool in their offices full of RuneScape membership fees, and a hot tub next to it full of advertising from F2P.

No, actually they probably spend it on the usual. Wages, taxes, and probably everything else that has already been mentioned in this thread.

I would think that a lot of their money would go into hiring staff and the up keep of the Runescape website and servers. Also, Andrew and co use this game as their source of income so they will take a cut out of profits. Taxes are another big one. They will spend a lot of money all over the place.

 I think the above poster covered it all. Bandwidth is where a unimaginable amount of cash goes.

I really don't think all of those things that were listed even compare to bandwidth.

So "utilities" isn't the blanket term anymore for servers, technical staff, and bandwidth? -.-

I don't think utilities is a good term for it considering that is probably where more cash goes than any of the expenses. I also consider utilities as electricity, water, sewer, ect.

They have a huge number of employees, something like 400 people. Average of 25k x 400 is £10m a year. Why do people always assume Jagex are rolling in it? They are investing the profits back into the game.

well, most employess are on a salary, they get paid a set amount every year in monthly or weekly increments. The other employees are generally shareholders, like paul and andrew, they have an invested interest in the company becuase they get paid a percentage of what is earned above what is given to the other employees as a salary.

So the shareholders earn more when the company is doing well and less when the company is doing poorly. Above this, what the money is spent on is none of our business. The share holders decide where the money is spent internally (within the company) when they form a board of directors. Some shareholders are nasty "no content updates and more staff!" they loudly yell. While other, nicer shareholders interupt politely and calmly remark "more updates bring larger profits, its better in the long run, and its good for the gamers" they say "to whom we owe or small fortune"
