Graphically updated monsters

As part of the graphical update on July 1st (readable here), most monsters in the game also had more detail added to them. It is logistically impossible for the Crewbies who work on the Bestiary to locate every single monster and take new pictures, especially for quest monsters.

 

So, we'd like you to submit any new pictures in this thread, where we can process them and add them to the Bestiary. Just try to follow this advice:

 

• ALWAYS submit images in .png format, definitely not .gif, .jpg or .jpeg. If using MSPaint, this is doable in the 'Save As' box by clicking the 'Save as type' drop-down menu at the bottom. All other software I've seen has something similar to this.
  
• Try and make the screenshot as big as possible. For non-aggressive monsters, a tactic we use is to run behind the monster so the monster fills up the screen. The orb of oculus may also be helpful.
  
• Make sure no obstacles, like rocks or grass, are covering the monster.
  
• Use the highest possible graphics settings. If you find that screenshot ends up being too dark, consider setting 'lighting detail' to low - this will greatly increase brightness in underground settings.

 

Two more things. When submitting, please include the id number of the monster you've taken a picture of. This can be found here:

 

 

And finally, check to see if an image has already been submitted. Our policy is to accept the first image that comes to us unless the first one is of poor quality.

Looking at these pics, it's gonna be a lot harder to clean off the backgrounds and make them transparent, if that is the goal.

 

 

 

Might want to go back to low detail - I predict the revised monsters will look the same at every detail level? (I could be wrong - let me know!)

It would! However I am trying to find a few people that have some cropping skills to help out. Once that is done it takes me a few minutes to get it Tipified and uploaded. If anyone wants to volunteer feel free to do so via post or pm. :D Thanks!

PNG is a graphics format. In MS Paint, go to Save As, and after the name of your file (i.e. guard.bmp) make it .png instead, Paint will save as PNG but not open PNGs. (I think the XP version may open pngs. not sure) (in the example above, change it to say guard.png) then click save.

 

 

 

Btw ones I took to do:

 

IDs 423-428, Al Kharid Warrior, Cave Crawler, Cocatrice, Dwarf, goblin, guard, highwayman, hill giant, hobgoblin, man, pirate, pyrefind, roach drone, rock slug, snake, unicorn. I was going to do the tzhaar but they have been done yay!

not to sound all pushy and stuff, but i posted pictures of some of the tzhaar and pirate and snake a month ago, but when i checked it on the tip. it bestiary, it wasn't updated. but when i saw the other pictures people posted, they were put in the bestiary even though they have posted l8r than me. is something wrong with my pictures? if so, please tell me so i can fix them or something....
