If you love lag, an EXTREMELY easy game, and believe graphics > gameplay, then WoW is definitely for you.

-.-

There is no lag at WoW.

Speaking of extremely easy game, runescape is evene easier.

Gameplay of WoW is much better then Runescape, runescape is much more repetitive.

I started playing RuneScape last May, played for about a month, came back to RS. In August played for another 2 months, came back to RS. In February I rejoined WoW and am still playing it.

Both games are good admittedly, and frankly, there isn't much more in WoW I can do except for the weekly raids. If I could play 5 hours a night, which I can't, I would still play WoW a lot more.

If you like RS, play RS, if you like WoW, play WoW. Simple. But it's a natural that all WoW players think RS players are morons for playing RS and vice versa.

I'm sort of in the middle, and again, it's a game. It's like PES4 and Fifa.

If you love PvP, then WoW is for you

Yet WoW is a PvE game and the PvP in WoW clearly fails.

And yes, RuneScape, once you are past your noob phase and know how everything works, it's just a grinding game for the most part. Same applies to WoW in some respects.

You won't get good answers asking it on this forum. Something like haft of the forum are fanboys who never tried anything but one or two other mmos . As usual, this is what they're going to say, very fery predictable: "RS is just SOOO good for java!" "And it's browser-based!" "WOW fans are idiots!" "And WOW is expensive!" "OMG RS is SO much better" "TBH, I tried WOW and I didn't like it" "I prefer new RS graphics, it's SOO much better!" and so on. Really, stupid, just don't post threads like that here.

I would probably play WoW if my friends played it, and introduced me to it instead of RS. These new graphics are pretty nice now, tho.

I wouldn't play WoW, but if you want to, then go ahead.

Remember if you play WoW, it's only 65 million boars for level 70

Nah not totally true, I have a 70 on WoW that I might have not levelled fully legally, because I don't like the grind, but I play to run instances and such with my mates at uni.

However I still scape and will never quit because of WoW alone.

Getting 70 on WoW legit is a lot easier and quicker than getting 99 melees on scape, but to me a heck of a lot more boring. Every zone you quest in is the same, you start with the close by quests, kill a few mobs, return to town, then you get the round of quests that take you further away from the town, then you get the generic fedex to the next town etc.

At least on RS I can park myself at a Slayer spot and click a mob every few seconds while watching TV/reading forums.

I tried WoW and came back. Wow has some really great clan support which unfortunatly Runescape really lacks but thats about it. I thought all the characters looked the same and for the cost and amount of space it takes up the graphics arent that great. I like that on RS i can do what i like. I dont need to create a new character to do a different skill and that there is no way i can max out all my stats any time soon (been playing saince 2001 and still not maxed). I also like that RWT has almost been completely wiped out in RS and yet Wow everyone seems to do it. I dont know a single Wow player (irl) that hasnt bought gold on Warcraft.

However if you posted this on Wow forums you'd get ppl saying they tried RS and didnt like it. And that the graphics are good and they like limits in skilling etc.

For the record tho. PES totally owns Fifa. :P

Most people who play RuneScape can't afford the godly computers required to run lag-less in WoW.

WoW is killing monsters over and over again for a week until you hit level 70. You're right that's way harder and nowhere near as repetitive as the 20+ skills, great story lines, and tons of quests and mini-games RuneScape has. Yes, WoW has much better gameplay...

You gain no experience if the mob (Creature) is 8 levels or more below you.

Yeah, I run instances and try to vary the areas as much as I can when I can whilst levelling, at 30-45, you should probably stick to Stranglethorn Vale, but you can go to various other places, run instances with friends and so on. But it is circuits of grinding where as RuneScape is just solid grinding.

Example: I want 99 firemaking, it costs X gp if I use Y Logs and X gp if I use Z logs. I think I'll buy Z logs. *Buy Z logs*. Tinderbox, log, tinderbox, log...etc. Bank, Tinderbox, etc. Same for cooking, and everything else!

Wow has some really great clan support which unfortunatly Runescape really lacks.

Clan chat was a great addition, but it just wasn't enough. We need guilds, then allow GWD, KBD etc. to become instances where you have your own special guild one, so you do not have to spend forever looking for a world.

Played wow on a private server for 1-2 months and got bored. It always depend of what you like to do and what you don't like to do. I don't see why you guys are always fighting to see which one is the best game etc. It's like youtube's video of WOW VS RS! Its so biased, everyone that play wow say wow is better and everyone that play rs say rs is better :shame: Get over it.

The majority of my gaming friends all prefer Wow to Runescape. I had always heard stories about people becoming seriously addicted to Wow, and I always stayed away. My brother bought the game a few days ago and I created a character and began playing. I really do like it, for the day I have played it, and I think I will carry on playing it. Everyone compares Runescape and Wow but I can't really see any similarities. They seem to be totally different games. As to my favourite, I think Wow is a better game for me personally, but I don't think I will stop playing Runescape.

Good job, Cartman. The Mr. T commercial for WoW is also awesome :P

Yet, if I ever start WoW, the thing that will get met back to RS will probably be my empty bank account..

When I played wow, it was decent fun but my beef with it is that there is almost no solo content at the higher levels. Once I reached 59 and 60 (back in the day pre-bc) the only options available to me were either battlegrounds or raids. I didn't have time for raids and battlegrounds got a leeeeetle boring after running the same method every darn time.

Runescape is still my favourite because it's so accessible. I can play it for 5 or 10 minutes and actually get things done (MTK, GE, etc.). With wow, although it does load fast, you need to sign in, find an instance that interests you, find a group (or ask guildies), make a party, wait for dumb party-mates to get to the instance... it just goes on and on.

To be honest, though, anyone posting in a forum saying "WoW>RS" or something along those lines is asking for a $#@!storm. Just play both games for a bit, form your own opinion, and be done with it.

alright. once, there was a family of the dad, Joe, the mom, Sue and the son Jim. one day they were sitting at the breakfast table eating pancakes. the next thing they knew, 3 giant penguins came in and bit their heads off. they died. the end

That was exactly my experience with WoW. Admittedly there are a lot of fun elements to the game. I enjoyed playing it, but after a while you realise there's not much more to it than questing and grinding a few mobs while you level up. The end-game isn't as good as RS either, particularly the solo end-game. Raids are really well done and fun to do, but really thats all there is. There's far more for a maxed RS character to do and that's why i came back to RS.

Once you go WOW, you never go back?

This is the case for me. Although I still find RS interesting, I'm no longer an active player, as an awful lot of my time goes in WoW.

I see some comments on WoW being a grind. Well, sure, every MMO is in a way. But RuneScape as far worse as far as grinding goes.

I wouldn't say it's easier, either. Boss monsters in WoW are vastly more complicated than anything on RS. The only thing that really stand out in Scape is the fight caves, although that's more or less due to the amount of time required for each shot you get to take at Jad.

I also saw someone comment he played on a private server. Seriously, don't. Both the community (which is like half the game) and the gameplay itself seriously fail on private servers.

The lack of solo-endgame comments are a valid complaint. Sure, there's some factions you can improve your standing with, but that's that, and even those have aspects of grouping to them. There's no devilishly complicated stuff like Mourning's End Two you can lose yourself in. So if grouping and socializing isn't your cup of tea, then WoW probably isn't for you.

I do disagree with RS being more "accesible" than WoW. Doing some stuff on the GE for five minutes is compared to doing an instance in WoW. A more reasonable comparison would be killing bosses in the God Wars dungeon versus doing an instance. And face it, you don't log in to do some boss killing for five minutes.

And finally, sure, you need a fairly recent PC to run WoW flawlessly on it's highest settings. But my old PC, which is at this time about six years old, was able to run it at an acceptable level with most settings at a medium level. Most of the requirements to run the game at an acceptable level aren't high at all - only it's RAM requirements might be considered high, as it isn't really playable with under 512 megs.

I played WoW for just over a week (brother let me use his comp and account when he was on hols) and after that i don't think i will play it again for the following.

its not that hard to max,

gameplay aint that great really,

costs more,

sure gfx are slightly better but its is like a 1+ GB install compared to rs 78mb.

Personally after awhile it got so boring, i had to go play rs now and then just to get over the boredom.

Better than RS's PvP in my opinion...but yeah, WoW has MASS PvE in the end-game...

That's what got me bored in WoW. All you get to do in the end-game is instances... no solo-play at all... -.- And if you wanted to do the better instances you had to join good guilds that require you play hardcore which I really don't like.

If you're a casual gamer (like I am now), RS is better than WoW in the long-run. Don't get me wrong, WoW is a great game, really fun from levels 1-60, but it fails at the end-game for casual players/solo.

I dont know much about Wow, but does Dota count as it?

Cuz the reason most of my friends/ people I know play Dota instead of Runescape is because of the graphics (not any more), they cant buy prepaid cards and have to rely on themselves to level up rather than party/teaming.

I'd like to try WoW, but Im not willing to spend money on the disc and leave Runescape for it.
