The mysterious "Deposit <large amount>" function

So this morning I was organizing my bank and noticed a new "Deposit 50,000" function. Cool, cool.

Later on I came back and found it had been lowered to 500. I laughed at whoever had made the typo up at Jagex and continued on my way.

Just now, I got back from an iron dragon task and was met by a "Deposit 9,000" function.

What's going on here? Am I somehow changing the value myself (that would be awesome to be able to set it myself!), or is Jagex just tweaking it? Or is it totally random? Is anybody else even experiencing this, or am I crazy?

Try this: Click deposit x, type 400, hit enter. Now check the new function.

Clever! That was it- it adjusts to whatever you last did.

That is AWESOME.

For the longest time, I've been wishing that there was an "all" option for repetitive things like buying from npcs and fletching and etc... Instead they gave us something even better! <3

I'm off to go see if they actually added the new option to everything now.

You don't read newsposts much, do you?

We have added a counter in the top-right hand corner of the interface, which allows you to keep track of how much bank space you are currently using. We have also given you the ability to repeatedly withdraw/deposit the number of items you last entered using Deposit-x/Withdraw-x.

Guess not. Idiots these days.

Lol at how many threads turned up on the RSOF saying "the bank's glitched, i have 2 deposit 10 options".

You'd think Jagex would have set the initial value to something that wasn't already there, though!
