How many alchs per hour u can do?

From the time your character slams down the staff to when the alching actaully ends is 3 seconds. There's about 1-2 seconds in between to lift the staff, delay between alchs, etc. Let's give it an extra second to be safe. That's 6 seconds per alch.

3600 seconds in an hour. That's about 600 per hour. About. Remember there are times when you don't time it correctly and time for randoms.

I find that I can alch exactly every 3 seconds, so I can get 20 alch in a minute, 100 alchs in 5 minutes, or 1200 alchs/hour. Realistically, though, you can't make that many because sometimes you will click it too soon, or you will get distracted, so I usually assume 1000 alchs/hour if you are paying your absolute best attention. For the new animation, click exactly after you hear the sound stop. Don't try to anticipate when the sound will end, because you will end up clicking too quickly. Rather, click when you actually hear the sound stop.

It definitely is 3 seconds per alch, by the way. I've alched a lot of stuff as it is my main way of training magic so I know what I am talking about.

I'd say about 1k/hr, though I've never done it. I've sat w/ my friend fletching. He timed it well and he said it was about 1k.

Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again

actually the absolute maximum before the animation change was 1140 per hour, I've timed it several times myself and found that it was only possible to do 19 alchs per minute. I am quite confident that this is correct, since I did about 160k of them on my way to 99 mage last year.

Of course you need to take in consideration that you can't alch at this rate for many hours, simply because it demands a high level of concentration, and then there are the randoms.

As said before, I think 1k-ish per hour is very realistic.

Good luck with the alching ^^

99 Fletching - Edgeville Bank

99 Cooking - Rogues Den

99 Magic - Edgeville Bank ( almost all xp from 80 - 99 gained from high lvl alchemy spells and very proud of it =) )

99 Firemaking - Mostly Edgeville bank, also fally east

Retired- but I do like to play every now and again, and check up on how things are going

Yeah well I never really alched for an hour straight. But I just did a little math and that's what it came out as.

If it is wrong, it's probably at that time estimation. Although I'm sure about the 3 seconds. I count to 3 in between alchs and I can alch without delay.

Ok guys. I read all your comments but i have another question...

Recently i read post where it is explained how to use your keyboard to "click" instead of mouse. There is a setting in control panel,as a fact, and it is explained how to make both ur keyboard number "5" on numpad and mouse click to "click"

This would save me alot of energy, since mouse is not that comfort to hold for hours. But im wondering, what is your oppinion, is it totally safe? I ask you this because many people disagreed, but remember this shouldn't be 3th part software, and remember most of laptops got this option on manual (most of laptops got click button alredy, and some ppl dont use mouse there) its just ur windows settings for non-laptop,and it doesnt give any other advantage apart ur hand comfort. Thing that worried me is the other 1/3 of people who said its not totally safe, but somehow they got to point its safe...

If you use keyboard instead of ur mouse to alch post here what you think. If you dont plz post why u dont...

There once was a post on the rsof by a mod about this subject.

It heightens the chance of you being caught by the macro reporting system. He said it was okay, if you make sure you do something random every 5 minutes or something.

If you really want to be safe, don't use it, there have been people who got unfair blackmarks due to using the mouse keys.

alch + 5 key + talking to friends hasn't got me anything.

I'd say you're safe to go with it.

The new alch animation is not slower, you can click again before it finishes and start a new one.

You can do up to 1200 an hour, focussing and stuff. I alch at the nature chest in Ardougne, thieveing chests as soon as they are available. Cuts down the costs and monotony (sp?), get you thieving xp AND 3gp/nature extra!

Of course, 1200 alchs an hour is not feasable with this method.

I think people forget the time consuming of randoms usually as most people alch in places randoms come every few 100 alchs.

Anyways I did 25k alchs a few weeks ago for 99 mage. All using the new alch emote you get. I believe it to be slower then the previous emote beforehand. Anyways it's possible to get about 1200 a hour if you really go down for the nail at it.

Though I was usually alching 900 a hour on average due to me talking constantly, a few randoms etc etc. Though when i did about 8 or 9k alchs worth seriously. I got up to roughly 75k exp a hour which is slightly short of 1200 a hour. Also if you wish to avoid randoms a place mind you it's a boring place to do it is inside your house.

Too lazy to have a cool sig. So I therefore spam you with boring stat sigs

You have to be near the entrance portal to avoid randoms.. Inside your actual house, you can get randoms that will screw you up. I did some house alching with friends or by myself to 99 mage, and not a single random directly next to the portal..
