heavyc1
No. While it would be nice, there are just too many ways to abuse it. Correct me if I'm mistaken (back up with evidence), but there is no way to differentiate between pulling the cable and disconnecting. In my opinion, there should be an "Emergency Prayer" or "Emergency Food" slot. If you disconnect, it will automatically put on the selected prayer or eat the selected food. That way, you're using up the Prayer Points or Food you would have used anyway. (Maybe to prevent people from auto-eating by unplugging, the AI wouldn't be very smart. It would waste 1-5 HP for every piece of food, for example.) Thanks Draynor.net!
BloodArgon
I think it would work only on non-boss monsters and no pvp, or wildy. Its annoying to be in say waterfiends, loose connection, your prayer goes down and you die, pretty easy to be killed even if your not paying attention, let alone loosing connection just about when your going to sip prayer or eat or something. Unfortunately, the closest we would ever get to this, is instant log out. They did it with duels, so, why not monsters. 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th

Nenga
i support, but it shouldnt count for BH......people dissconected themselves, and just wait out the penelty or w/e Ye i did say in the post that it shouldn't count in pvp games. Read it next time please. This could be a solution to stop people abusing it: A player is only allowed 1 or 2 "protections" (if you lose connection the npc will stop attacking you and you can safely log out only once the box with connection lost-attempting to reastablish comes up as said in post) like every 2 hours in gameplay or 12 hours in real life. So that players cannot abuse it and people with bad connection don't have to fear if they lose connection.Like many people have said (me included) this can be abused to easily, though it's a nice idea. The only possible idea I could think of to stop it from being abused is that it doesnt work on boss monsters, revs, minigame monsters, or quest specific monsters (like damis from dt). Ponies! Miner_Guy
I just died yesterday because i lost connection, an evil chicken attacked me i couldn't see anything my screen was white. I then died and logged out my gravestone broke. Then the log out screen reappeared and i was standing in lumbridge with the 3 things i wanted least. I then had to buy everything at the GE. Personally i think this should be the next update. Please pass this idea around so i get more supports. The emergency prayer and food should be a button located in the "worn equipment section". Next to the "items i will keep in death" and "equipment stats".
Omali
Jagex would have to implement a system to tell when packets are no longer being sent from the client, as right now the game has no idea that you've disconnected. Those who have disconnected will know that the game does not disconnect you immediately, as it still believes you're sitting there at the computer. You have to wait until your character times out in order to reconnect. I think an easy medium would be, upon disconnection, your character is sent to the abyss network (Or whatever it's called) until the player hits the "play" button after he logs in, where he's transported back to where he was. No potting, no food, no way to abuse it that I can see, aside from maybe someone pulling their internet connection and having a higher level friend clear out the area so they can get away. Zaaps1
Right. I support it now. You can remove me from the "support?" list :P . One question, are these "emergency slots" items in your inventory? If so, we would need to reset them every time we make a new invent. So perhaps another interface button between the "Equipment Stats" and "Items Kept on Death"? ~It's Super Effective! I'm pretty sure it's not client side because then edited client macros in the past would have disabled it.
buzz_knight
"OH DARN! I'M DYING FROM THIS REV!" *Pulls cable* I have made my point. Then they should have a system where it can sense the connection being disconnected from the internet, and usually if you pull the cable it would take longer for it to reestablish connection, whereas connection loses would come back pretty fast. Support. wrong. my phone magically disconnects me when in use. ( no i am not on dial up  ) :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: that isn't my fault, I'm not to know when my family use it. :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: explain how that would work then :) :?: :?: :?: :?: no support, as of yet. :ohnoes:
