Help with a letter, trying to get my first 'real' job.

Hey, I just got my Social Insurance Number in the mail which means I am now able to get a real job somewhere. I know there's an opening at a dollar store that's 15-20 minutes away from my house, and when I went to hand in a resume to the owner and she told me since I have no real experience that I should write her a letter telling her why I think I should get the job.

Here are a few facts about me..

-I'm 15

-Just passed grade 9 (with horrible marks, didn't even pay attention or anything at school..)

-I enjoy music, hanging out with friends and rs.

-I'm lazy, I try not to be but in the end it's very easy to tell that I still am.

I need help writing this letter.. I have no idea what to write or how to write it.. >.<

If anyone could give me some tips or an example or something I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks.

Laziness won't get you a job... Heres a tip: Don't mention you are lazy.

Another tip: You may want to get better marks... You'd have to handle money, and you should at least know math. (Believe me... I went to a store and the guy was counting by his fingers)

You're 15 and going for a job? I didn't get a job until I was 17... and that job didn't require anything in the brains department. I mean...

I'm in the top 10% of the nation in test scores and I only got a job because 1. I was recommended as a hard worker. or 2. they don't really care, just need grunts to make money. Yeah.

Good luck kid. Don't forget to milk family contacts either.

Remember. You cultivate good contacts through honesty and hard work. Work hard and you should have no problems.

My family has a saying, it changes from person to person, and this is mine: Learn to dig a ditch and you shall live comfortably.

Means: Work hard and you will be content.

Take this lesson to heart!

Hmmm, if you didn't give the definition of that saying I would have thought it meant "Learn to Dig a Trench for work." lol
