I'd say Immortal. They're an amazing black metal band, if not the best in the genre.

Sigh, if you havent listened to them yet.

(copypasta'd from my locked topic)

I've been thinking of getting a few random CDs... And my thoughts were that Tifers could recommend them to me based off some rather random songs I happen to like a lot. If the CD has more of the same on it, even if it's not the same band, I'd probably be interested in it. If you have a favorite song off the album and want to give me a link/yt that'd be great too. On to the list!

Harder Better Faster Stronger - Daft Punk (also One More Time)

Minus Celsius - Backyard Babies

Mardy Bum - Arctic Monkeys (also I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor)

Nine in the Afternoon - Panic at the Disco

Na Na Na Na Naa - Kaiser Chiefs (also Ruby)

Troublemaker - Weezer (also My Name is Jonas)

Under Pressure - Queen & David Bowie

Gives You Hell - All-American Rejects (also Move Along)

Holiday - Green Day (also Jesus of Suburbia, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life))

Besides that, my current top artists on my Last.fm are Muse (have Absolution and Black Holes & Revelations), Daft Punk, Boston (have a fair number of their albums), Green Day, and Panic at the Disco.

Since I have no idea what psy trance is... I'ma recommend some bands based on the bands we have in common...

Muse and Journey are both really good bands, I'd get Absolution (Muse http://www.last.fm/music/Journey/Generations ) to start.

I don't really know what Psy Trance is, but maybe you'd like Celldweller and Blue Stahli?

I'm looking for some rapcore/raprock, not your obvious choices either, I have mostly all of those.

Sorry mate, don't like rapcore/raprock at all.

have some acid instead

AWAY WITH ALL YOUR PSYTRANCE. Modest mouse, shpongle, ... look for psychedelic chillout. Or come to the darkside:

Rage Against The Machine is the only good rapcore band.

(that I know of at least)

All others are like limp bizkit and fail.

Someone else recommend something to Necro, I dont have anything.

I don't know, I'm more of a goa/darkpsy person then all that... Chillout/newschool trance like shpongle and modest mouse, logic bomb; I don't even know why I know a load of artists.

 you can suggest me everything though, I listen to everything as long as it sounds good. So, anything.

For you, Jaerk, I'd suggest Captain Dan and the Scurvy Crew.

The only pirate rap band I've seen in forever. http://www.thesixtyone.com/#/CaptainDan/

Or House of Heroes, a pretty cool rock/indie band. http://www.thesixtyone.com/#/houseofheroes/

My favourite songs from both would be Broadside, by Captain Dan, and If, by House of Heroes. Both available on that site. :>

Three recommendations from varying genres...

1. J Dilla produced a wealth of incredible instrumental hip-hop pieces before his untimely death.

Last Donut of the Night

2. Kaleidoscope is an underrated 60s psychedelic rock band that's well worth a look!

The Sky Children

3. Easy Star All-Stars is a reggae/dub band that become popular after their dub covers of The Dub Side of the Moon and Radiodread. It's a fresh reggae spin on some classic albums.

--

I'm looking for more jazz/hip-hop fusions (like Guru and Us3), electronic (like Ratatat), abstract/glitch hop (like FlyLo, Dilla, Dabrye and Bullion), and soul music (like Erykah Badu). Any suggestions?

PSY TRANCE PLEASE.

If you like Shpongle (psybient), check out Bluetech, 1200 Mics, and Nosaj Thing. I'd also recommend

to anyone looking for some generally psychedelic music (be sure to use headphones and an optional spliff for the full experience).

Sorry for the bump.

I just fell madly in love with Globus, and I would really like to hear something similar to it or E.S. Posthumus. I really like the full orchestra mixed with more current tones.

Does anyone have any ideas?
