Caxis
I used to play OGame a few years ago. It's a space themed text based game. I kept trying to get a massive amount of resources so I could upgrade my mines. Because of that, I got attacked a lot and kept losing my fleet.. I'm not sure how much has changed though.. ThurinEthir
Well, there was always Arenascape. I played that for so long...Had a pretty good mage, I think. I'm pretty sure the forum for it is still up. Then from that forum, I learned about Travian. There was a gigantic thread about it a while ago, don't know if it's still around. A lot of people here played...I personally sucked, but it was fun. It's historic-based, you choose from Roman, Gaul and Teuton. Then you build up your city, get more cities, etc. A similar game is Tribal Wars, which I played longer. It was fun for a while, but then it became too much of a hassle. I think there have been a few updates, but it's basically the same as Travian. However, the tribes (Alliances/guilds) are much more organized, wars are more organized, armies are bigger and stuff. Only one type of civilization though. Now this I was decent at, I was one of the top 500 on one world at one point. Korla
Well I recently acquired a taste for text/browser based games, I currently got started on CS-Manager where you manage a couterstrike squad and participate in leagues and stuff http://www1.cs-manager.com/ Used to moderate the Swedish forums over there. Pretty cool game, but I got insanely bored of it. And it just takes a massive amount of time finding PCWs and stuff, crazy. Have they added any more maps yet? When I played they added the 2nd. Also used to play ARENAScape, still do sort of, organize some tournaments or whatever, trying to keep that game alive. It's a decent game, and the forum is great (it's right here on TIF, on the very bottom). Warriors 2 is a fun game, as is Travian ofcourse. Warriors 2 is slightly different from most browser games in that it's 99% single-player. And you can store fights indefinitely, so that whenever you feel like it, just load it right up, no need to stay super active to play it.

Warnner
Browser games are really very interesting to play, few are for free and few are payable. I use to play runescape and war of legends.
oldbard
I thought I should mention this game as well since it is text-based and seems to slowly be growing in popularity: The Grid It's a huge board of players all fighting over different squares, and it's fun making alliances, gambling with gold, warping, and all kinds of cool stuff!
