Haha oh wow, nostalgia.

Why, oh why, must we always get that homesick feeling of nostalgia? That feeling of "Oh hey, that'd be a good idea, yeah, it'll be just like I remember it and it'll be just as awesome, right?".

Except it very rarely (read: never) is.

Visiting an old house or school, playing your favourite game from yesteryear, watching an old show from your childhood or even visiting a website that you had forgotten had even existed until half an hour ago. All perfect examples of turning what you used to remember as amazing memories of awesome coated win into mere remnants of your past.

Problem is, you only remember the good bits. The bits that made you like that memory - so you would remember it in the first place. But the moment you revisit it in an attempt to relive it, you realise you forgot the parts you didn't like.

tl;dr - What happened to the forum? Seriously, you guise.

I think it's just retrospect. I feel that the present always sucks, but then as time passes I look back and think about how "great" the past was. It happens every year to me at school. In 9th grade, I missed what it was like in 8th grade. In 10th grade, I missed what it was like in 9th grade. And so on. Right now I think this summer is boring, but in like a year I'll bet you I will feel nostalgic about it anyways.

Lol, reminds me of that South Park episode where the kids graduated and missed 3rd grade. It's weird how so many Off Topic threads can have South Park logic applied to it. Seriously, this is like the 5th time mentioning that show here this month.

Woah man! How are ya? What've you been doing? Long time no speak. Sticking around for long?

And i tend to agree with Zierro, generally everything seems better in retrospect that it was at the time.

Forums were brought down due to unforeseen reasons, and then brought back using the new kind.

Ya I often get nostalgia of old games or hanging out with certain people :( Why must I become an adult?

Retrospect is always a kick in the face though. Those irritating feelings of "Why didn't I do that" constantly chipping away at my sanity.

Keeping myself busy, somehow. I shan't say of any time scale or else i'll be obliged to abide by it.

A year? Surely its more so than that. And you must become an adult or else Peter Pan wouldn't be anything special. Except for maybe flying, that's kinda special. That being said, pilots fly, therefore pilots must be special. Be a pilot.

Ha, you really wouldn't know me, I mainly started posting around the time you left, but it's nice to see you again. I saw your name and I was like "oh crap, did someone bump a really old thread again" But anyway, I know what you mean with nostalgia. I recently found and installed my favorite game from younger days, and now, it just sort of sucked.

you know what's the worst part about being away from the forum too long? people like indy overtake your postcount :geek:

I've recently slowed down on posting, so it shouldn't be too hard to catch up :D .

Woah. I remember you, why'd you leave in the first place?

(It's been just over 1 year, 3 months, 1 week, and 2 days since you posted: Wed Apr 18, 2007)

Is that so? Well I think that post was the last time I revisited to post something or other. Still, a long time ago indeed.

After looking back at a few of my "last posts" it seems like I was. Though what for i'm unsure of. Probably because mods = gods. Or maybe they needed to control the cool level of the forum. One or the other. Most likely the latter.

I think it'd be the fact that I havent posted in over a year and yet I nearly have as high a post count as you. And, well, more than a lot of people that actively post nowadays.

Eye'm still the storngest, right?

Woah, I haven't seen you in a while. Holding up, I hope.

When I joined, I don't think I ever got the chance to enjoy that real golden age of Tip.It. It was small, everyone was very close-knit, and there was hardly any need for moderation at all. Did this age exist? I think it did. I remember people talking about it.

It was called the Maturity Age,and if you wish to refer to it,please state the year B4(Before 4chan).

Welcome back! You probably don't remember me...Well, your post count is still much higher than mine. Didn't lose any during the rollback, I guess.

And I think you were banned for that map-thingy. You know, where each Tip.iter could enter their address and you could see on a global map where people lived. Or was that someone else?

Anyway, I'm really regretful, so nostalgia reminds me of all the could have's, would have's, and should have's.

Damn. I hate the fact that I joined tif 1-2 years after all the good nostalgic moments happened. I feel soo in the dark here. Kinda like a white guy walking through a flea market. Except this flea market is full of nostalgia and friends long gone that I've never met. Makes me feel so out of place. :x

Welcome back anyways I guess. as for the whole nostalgia thing, I get that a lot when I find a youtube video of things I remember when I was little, like old tv shows. I practically cried when I saw the Muppet's Kokomo video yesterday after nearly 10 years. and that thread about 90s cartoons is one of my favorites of all time because of all the old tv shows I used to watch as a kid. Thank god for youtube, where I can relive the best tv shows of all time.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

It was close-knit as in we recognize people posting. A lot of them are gone though. There were less random people for sure.

But there was never a time when moderation was loose considering there was at least one major debate going on all the time. Those things get personal
