The people killed in 9/11 were rich office workers in one of the tallest buildings in the world in arguably the financial center of the world by people trying to attack the strongest nation in the world. Thats why people cared more about them this is the group people the world over aspired to be, that people want to believe is invincible because they hope to be them someday.

also like it or not social class matters to us, millions of people mourned the death of Micheal Jackson or Steve Jobs or more recently Robin Williams yet likely non of those same people mourned the deaths of millions of African children.

That is because those people have no attachment to dying African children. Someone who listens to MJ might have mourned his death because he provided them with something and was identifiable.

It would be like if I had a relative die and I posted about it here. None of you would give a crap because you didn't know anything about the person.

“I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”

“Do you have any regrets?”

“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”

“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”

“Mmmhmm.”

Except, ya know, the funny thing is that the comments sections are Real People who really think these things, and just ignoring them doesn't make them stop having those thoughts. If anything, it makes them more prevalent, just because circle jerks have a nasty habit of reinforcing terrible beliefs.

Lol I don't but this is the best keyboard I've ever used as of yet. My keyboard was a Logitech Mk710 but it's one of the worst keyboard I've ever used a well lol. Went from the worst with keys that would get stuck and the keyboard that would lag to a high performance mechanical keyboard. Best move I made in a long time. Now if only I had the money to build a replacement for that 6 year old computer I built for $600 back then... Lol but that's going to come later I guess as I'm probably getting a pretty big salary increase in january.

Pulled an all-nighter with a couple of my best friends. Drove to the top of a mountain and watched the sun rise over our part of the city. It was pretty beautiful even though we were all very exhausted yet shaking from caffeine intake + a lack of food. Now I gotta fix my sleep schedule, [bleep].

Leavin' for college in 4 days, pretty wild that summer's ending already. It's too bad that I'll be away from my friends from home, but I'm definitely in the mood to be productive and actually learning things again.

Apparently dry soup mix still tastes pretty good after a year of residence in a cabinet!

Just, like... dry soup mix? Just reach in a grody hand and pull out a fistful of dry powder? Feel it slither between the too large cracks in your hands, run along your cracked, rough knuckles? Getting caught on the little calluses you didn't know about as you raise it to your lips and just drop a bare handful into your gaping mouth like its going to give you some sort of quench? Allaying your hunger but not your thirst as little motes of dried tortilla are picked up by miniscule air currents and tiny shavings of herbs bounce down the sides of your face where your guzzle hole didn't catch them?

You realize that shit's not cereal, right? Or maybe it is like cereal, in that you're supposed to put liquid in it before you eat it!

Hahahaha...for the record, I DID cook it in plenty of water and eat it as actual soup.  I hope you didn't lose too much sleep over my health...

First time in my life started drinking on at 10 am after a party. Always before waited until evening to start drinking. Preferred not to drink after a party.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

Pulled open a pistachio.

Worm inside.

Just chillin.

How many of these have I eaten?

Oh god.

It could have been worse.  There might have been half a worm!

Hitting it off with a girl I've been seeing lately. Trying to avoid the infatuation phase at all costs.

Nothing wrong with being infatuated or falling in love as long as you don't make stupid decisions based on those feelings.

That balance has always been hard for me

I'm not going to freeze in here another winter because they're too lazy/cheap/inefficient to turn on the building heat when it's 50-70 outside.  So I obtained permission and bought a heater today for $50, should work.
