I'm not good with this kind of thing.) invited him to. I told him that I'd definitely be interested in going, but the main reason I said that I'm interested is because I see this as an opportunity to expand my social life (Which is far below average, but slowly growing) and potentially do something afterwards. The book signing is a state over (NYC) and would cost a non-negligible sum of money to get to and buy the book. I'm kind of confused as to what the intentions of the people going are (If they just want to go there, get a book signed, and then come back) and I don't want to just ask "DO YOU WANT TO DO STUFF IN THE CITY AFTER WE GET THE BOOK SIGNED???" because I'm not really in charge of this event and I don't want to appear uninterested in the author (Bill Nye (Don't get me wrong, I watched the show as a kid, but apparently he's more politically involved now or something and I know that's a touchy area.)) and I don't know if the hanging out afterwards is implied or not. I'm like 90+% sure I'm going to go even if it's just for the book signing because I have nothing going on that day and even if it's just for the book signing, I guess it would be a good bonding experience or something, but I'd really like to do something afterwards because I feel like the excursion would kind of be a waste of money if it's just to buy a book and get it signed. I feel like I'm just repeating myself at this point, so I'll try to wrap this post up. Would it be weird to suggest that we do something afterwards? I don't even know what that something would be, but even if it's just wandering around in the city, I feel like it could be fun. What would you guys do if you were in my shoes? Yeah math and physics is pretty easy if you are even mildly interested in learning it. (ie: doing more then the bare ass minimum your teacher tells you to do). It's not normal to assume you're doing anything after an event like that, but it is normal to ask. Ask your friend what his plans were after MEETING BILL [bleep]ING NYE and see if you an sway him into going to a bar or something. NYC is a great place to broaden your horizons. I suggest a hookah bar, as drinks in NYC are hella expensive. Don't forget - even the road trip upstate is a bonding experience. Share some music and talk about things on the way up. Maybe even discuss what you're doing after you get your book signed. Feel free to suggest whatever if your buddy doesn't have any other plans. But then again I guess that goes for just about anything.You say that, but I assume you're fairly decent at math, so it's easy for you to just be like "It's easy if you just put in the work." But if you had a bad teacher in elementary who didn't correctly teach you addition, or even worse, a bad class in middle/high school and didn't learn algebra, you are 100% ducked for every math heavy class from that point on. And algebra is legitimately very difficult to learn, there's a lot of abstraction away from 3 apples and 3 apples make 6 apples, and that abstraction is difficult to learn if you don't have the right mind. And then when I went running, three intersections in a row (with fairly major roads) were flashing red/yellow traffic signals. Told the dude I was going for the topknot/manbun style so I needed the top to stay the same length but the back and sides shortened as I'm waiting for it to grow out. He said he was going to do it pretty short, and I'm like yeah that's fine. Now I am Macklemore. Looks like its beanie time for a few days...
