Yesterday I made a very exciting discovery regarding toast.

You see, my toaster is a genuine American product, which is the polite way of saying that it does not quite work.  Specifically, the toast does not pop up enough so I can grab it from the top and take it out of the toaster.  This leaves one with a couple of not so pleasant alternatives:

- reach in a little and risk a burn injury from touching the hot metal while trying to grab the toast.

- turn the toaster upside-down and spend the next half hour cleaning up crumbs (also I'd need to unplug it)

However, I have discovered that, despite the toast being quite thin, the toasted bread can be stabbed with a knife and carefully lifted out.  I can now once again sleep at night, knowing that I have solved another first world problem of mine.

Who said anything about it being metal?   :-w

Okay fine you win, it was metal.  Is it possible to electrocute oneself with a toaster (once it's finished)?  This knowledge comes as a bit of a shock.  Because technically the electrical circuit should be broken once it's done toasting.  Anyway maybe I will find myself a chopstick.

TIF drinking contest would be hilarious.  Assuming you guys all give yourselves ~2 beers extra (because it's the internet), I still couldn't keep up haha.

I'm cool with being a lightweight though.  The problem is really that I have about a 2 drink range in which I'm drunk, but anything under I'm sober and anything over I'm puking. It's hard for me to hit the sweet spot.

(You guys referring to the "serious drinkers". I'm sure I could still bury all these college freshmen if there was a need.)

Just unplug it first and you'll be fine

If youre toaster is plugged in, theres still 220V running through it, but in a potential state. Adding yourself as a circuit via metal fork will end badly. At least unplug it first.

TIF drinking contest would be Hella fun. I'd def reinstall Skype just to experience that with you fellas. We could have like a bracket tournament (though I suspect Saq and I would be finalists, though I know a few others have some "fight" in them)

Oh yeah, I meant to wait a little bit AFTER you unplug it for the capacitors to discharge.

In other news, I went into the city last night to see Bill Nye with a friend. More people were supposed to come, but they didn't show up, so it was just the two of us and honestly, the night was pretty miserable. We didn't get to see bill nye, so we went to a T.G.I. Fridays for about an hour and a half, 80 minutes of which was waiting for the food to come. Then I suggested we go to a hookah bar, but the only one my friend was willing to go to (Because he didn't like the names of some of them (He did the same thing with food places and it pissed me off)) was 21+ and he's 20, so the bouncer or whatever told us where an 18+ hookah bar was and when we got there, it was actually kind of scary because reasons, so we just decided to go back home at that point. We were in the city for about 4.5 hours, at least 3 of which were just walking. The area behind my left knee is sore now. I thought for sure I'd have blisters on my feet this morning, but somehow I don't. Anyway, yeah, I think the only reason I had fun in the city the last time I went was because I got drunk.

NYC can be cruel like that, but I feel like your buddy didnt have an open enough mind. Turning places down based on the name? I don't care if the club is called "The Aids Transplant" if they let me in and its close by I'm going to have a good time. What happened to Bill Nye? Did he leave early or something?

OH! and new Knife Party album dropped today. It's out of this world. I especially love all of it (but start with SuperStar because its funny)

Right, because watching a bunch of TIF'ers get so drunk they can't stand will go down REAL well with our users and staff :P.

He is extremely stubborn. We spent literally at least half an hour deciding where to eat. It started to get on my nerves because whenever I suggested something, he'd come back with either "It's too far", "It's too expensive", or "It sounds really 'sketch'". Eventually he said that some random diner was fine, but we passed by a Fridays and I was just like "We're going there" and we did.

As for Bill Nye, when we got to the library they were sold out of the book he was supposed to sign and the popo wouldn't let anyone else go to the top floor where he was. Apparently people had been waiting since 10 AM for the signing at 7 PM.

So I'm going for a run this morning and two (adults) on bicycles are behind me talking about how I'm running as fast as they're biking...ironic since I think a healthy person can easily bike 2-3x as fast as I could hope to run.  And then a car starts tailing all of us for some unknown reason.  A picture would have been hilarious.
