I guess 4 wheel drive has spoiled me. I don't worry unless it's over a foot or so

Hell I live in Winnipeg and our car still has all seasons on it. It's not that hard to just drive carefully.

Completely agree with you, but in more and more provinces it's mandatory to have winter tires. I know some friends that couldn't afford another set of tires right away and they had to store their car for the winter, until they can buy winter tires during next summer. Anyway pretty sure right now would be the best time to buy them, lower pricefs because they're looking to sell them to make more space for 4seasons inventory.

I woke up with a stomachache this morning, probably ate too many cookies yesterday or something <_<. Anyway I ran as usual and it eventually subsided, but it's a slushy wet mess out there today. Going out today is not going to be a whole lot of fun - thank goodness I'm only going out once.

Not having a great day today. My stomach is hurting (again) and on the way to class they were unclogging something for construction, I think. Well they did it just as I walked by, even though they saw me and it obviously took like 2 seconds, and got mud all over my jacket, pants...even in my hair. I'm currently attempting to wash said jacket and pants, and will let you all know how that goes...

discovered Hearthstone last night and it's really fun even though it's just a dumbed down version of Magic so far lol

It really is a dumbed down version of MTG

maybe magic is just an over complicated version of Hearthstone?

Well considering MTG has been around for about 20 years....

Exactly, all that time and people are still figuring out how to play!

To be honest atleast MTG doesn't introduce drastically new game mechanics and has set rotation.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is insane atm. Some people lost it at Synchros, but I'm losing it at pendulums. Such a shame about the power-creep though.

I gave up at the birth of pendulums.

Hearthstone is a great time. I share an account with my brother and its tons of fun. Gives us something to talk about.

Have any decent decks? I've been playing a bit but trying to build a viable deck takes forever if you aren't willing to dump real money into it.

Birdman was a good movie and the cinematography/score were phenomenal but I didn't love it as much as everyone else seems to. All the criticisms that the movie makes seemed really obvious to me I guess rather than making any meaningful statements - most of the movie kind of boiled down to "lol franchises suck and are youth is too focused on viral videos lol damn kids these days" to me. It was definitely an enjoyable, well-crafted film though, and if anyone disagrees with me I'm definitely open to hearing why.

Last night was freaking epic.

Sauna, good party, cheap booze (even though I was completely sober), many music, much dance.

Felt really great to rock out.

Never seen a few people so crazily funnily dancing, didn't even know it was in them.

I was able to build viable decks after about 2 weeks of grinding. I refuse to pay for anything and I still do alright. Message me if you want to duel sometime!

Had a bit of a stupid moment yesterday morning. Woke up 2 or 3 hours before class with some congestion, and in a moment of total brilliance, I got up and had some NyQuil Cold & Flu, which among other things contains an antihistamine. Like a fair few people, my reaction to taking an antihistamine is to wake up very confused several hours later, which is fine if I take it before going to bed, and less desirable if I take it in the morning and then go back to bed to wait until my usual get up time. Next thing I know, I'm very confused about why my room is totally dark, only to discover it's now 2am on Friday, because of course it is.

The brilliant things I think up when I first wake up in the morning.

Of course, I've been up since 2am now, and I'm starting to get a little bit tired. So all I've actually managed to achieve is making an entire day of life just up and vanish

DMing my first ever session of D&D in about 30 minutes.  I'm pretty nervous, still trying to tweak the campaign to make it good.  If I had my way I would take another week to perfect it, but I'd probably never be entirely happy and we wouldn't get to actually play.

I don't really know one of the guys playing which is what makes me most nervous.  I kind of wish he wasn't playing with us and that one of my other friends joined instead, but I'll have to deal with it.

The addition publicity for The Interview wasn't really for the film itself, but creativity and free of speech, so I don't really get why some people had such high expectations for it. I thought it was good film, a lot of great jokes layered throughout the film.

The interview was a fun film. Typical Seth Rogan experience. Funny, but not entirely thought provoking or original. Predictable, but entertaining none the less.

I just watched Chappie which was basically Die Antword the movie, but I liked it. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 44% but it deserved considerably higher. Definitely better than Elysium, but still not quite as good as District 9. Definitely go see it, but only spend money on it if youre that bored. I'll give it a modest 8/10. After all, who doesn't like a feel good story of watching a young boy become a man with all the fun of robots shooting shit to pieces?

Hey, I've been sober over a week now!

10 days to go until I am free to drink again...

Spent 6+ hours today baking cookies and buns for Women's day tomorrow.

We'll be going on a surprise tour and visit all the sororities in town (there are 5 of them) and take them a big platter (or well, rather 2-3, cause we have so much) of our baked desserts.

A comment by my fratmate who didn't bake and visited the frathouse only for a moment after tasting one coconut cookie and standing still, jaw dropped for 2 minutes: "Panties are gonna drop!"

Guess we did pretty good.

I don't know why everyone hated The Interview so much, I thought it was pretty entertaining.

Was a shitty movie that got hyped the [bleep] out of because of the controversy

I still feel obligated to go watch it sometime...
