Well today I completely shaved off my beard for the first time since September. Did so in preparation for working at McDonald's again. Was supposed to start working tomorrow, but they for some reason thought a scan of my ID was unreadable and so they couldn't set up the contract. Sure it wasn't readable on first sight, but everyone has a zoom function right? Also, my sister came and visited from Egypt. She's only staying the night before going somewhere else, but was still fun to spend some time with her.

The only logical thing to do would be to post it here so we can judge whether it's readable or not.

I'm going to milk Goon's teats

My local supermarket claims they sell the same product both organic and conventional for the same price. And to their credit, it is the same product at the same price - blueberries - aside from the fact that organic is 6oz and one is 1 pint. I may not know how to convert the two off-hand but I'm pretty sure it's somewhere between a third and half the size <_<.

That's of course true, but I think by pint they mean the measurement of volume and when they use ounces they mean weight...so it's a bit more complicated :P.

Hmm I found a flyer, and if I'm not misinterpreting, 1 dry pint = 12 "ounces", 6 ounces = 6 "ounces", and 4.4 ounces = 4.4 "ounces" (which are hopefully the same measurement). Seems like a marketing trick - tell people 1 pint and they immediately associate it with 16 ounces (everyone in America seems to know this) and rely on them confusing the two.

Well it's been a while since I've posted here but a lot's been happening and now I'm too lazy to write it all up.

My going away party last weekend turned out amazingly. About 40 ish people came out and I got to see pretty much everybody I wanted to. Had a really close call at the end though. Most of the party was sober, but at around 11 pm we got a handle for people who wanted it. It was working out fine, but at 1:30 am the cops were called for a noise violation. All they did was usher us all inside, but if they would have turned the corner around the shed they would have seen the handle and I would have been [bleep]ed. The party relocated to another friend's house, and one of my friends that wasn't drinking drove me and a couple of my other friends that were. We ended up getting pulled over on the way there, and the cop was interrogating my friend pretty hard. He finished by asking if we lined us all up and brethalyzed all of us if we would all blow 0s before walking back to his car. Thankfully he believed my friend that we wouldn't and let us off, but it was terrifying how close of calls those were to getting an MIP / worse 2 weeks before I turn 21.

Anyways, I'm all moved into my apartment in Mountain View now for my internship. The apartment is great and Google has been awesome so far. My first week has just been a bunch of orientation classes, but it a lot of them were interesting. And food. Lotsssssssss of food. finally got back into a gym routine there which feels great, though its weird being in a gym where the demographic is almost all software engineers where I end up being one of the bigger guys there, which is saying nothing. Gradually have been making some other intern friends too, though I haven't actually managed to hang out with any of them yet outside work.

Checked out San Francisco for the first time yesterday. The city is awesome, but not having a car blows as does not being 21 yet, most of the places were closed at the awkward time we were there. Got some of the best pizza I've ever had in my life there though and I'm definitely down to go back another day, it just blows that it takes about 2 hours to get there / leave and the weird public transport schedule kinda stops me from going to shows / bars / smash tournaments out there like I wanted to.

Google is in the top 3 best companies to work for. Uber is in like the bottom 10. Wonderful decision making.

Also, $5 for a Settlers of Catan board & pieces is phenomenal

They spread awesome technology to humanity and promote prosperity, while encouraging ingenuity and innovation. Scoundrels. (My cousin is actually the head sales rep for Google in the north west hemisphere. Hes absurdly rich to a point where its dumb. If he didnt buy so many nice houses and cars he pretty much could have paid my tuition and that of all of my other cousins and our collective future children. And probably their children. Salty. )

What is the problem with micro-managing? It seems like an effective way of managing employee performance (or perhaps my definition of the word is flawed).

It would not doubt be efficient, yes, but usually that refers down to the level of telling them what to eat for breakfast. I would get annoyed with that rather quickly, personally.

i'm back from sasquatch music festival

it was [bleep]in insane, easily one of the best weekends of my life.

far too many crazy stories and memories to share everything, but seeing kendrick lamar essentially close the festival last night was incredible. i saw so many great bands and had such an amazing time.

but drinking and smoking multiple times every single day while simultaneously walking miles in intense heat and drinking far too little water while also surviving on barely any sleep has taken a significant toll on my body. but i am alive, and my return to normalcy of school life begins now

Getting a kitten Friday. Sadly, due to college housing restraints he'll be an indoor only cat. My roommates are lukewarm about the idea and my mom is against it.. But I want one so I'm finna do it anyway.

CALLING ALL CAT OWNERS:

Will the kitten get bored/lonely while I'm working 8 hour shifts and he's all locked up in my room? I almost feel like getting a second one without running bit by my family. Ha. Don't like the idea of the poor guy being alone for so long everyday

Also, when he's older and litter trained he'll have free roam of the house, if that makes any difference

You might as well take a picture of said kitten and set it for your avatar because, for better or worse, I think that is the only image I will be able to associate you with from now on. :P

In other news it's sadly getting warmer here...guess summer will do that. I'm soaked every time I go for a run even early. Maybe I should wake up earlier and go before sunrise...

Is it a kitten kitten or a cat? A kitten will probably get depressed if it doesn't receive much attention for that amount of time. You'd really need 2 of them to keep them happy. If it were a cat, that might be a different story.

“I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”

“Do you have any regrets?”

“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”

“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”

“Mmmhmm.”
