So apparently the last DLC for The Witcher 3 is going to be the NG+ patch. Not sure how i feel about this to be honest. I haven't touched TW3 in about a month because i've been waiting for this to happen. I'm afeared i won't be leaving my house when that happens. On a different note, i booked my hotel and bought my ticket for Greece today. Exams in August. Can't wait to get this shit out of the way. I've been procrastinating for like 3 years now.

Biking every where was an essential part of being a kid where I grew up. It was that or never leave your block. Bit its totally reasonable if you grew up some place real rural I guess.

Rollerblading took a while to get down, but I had to learn for hockey at a certain age so I got sufficient at it, but ultimately my hockey skills suffered at my average at best skating ability.

Ice skating is hard as shit, I was always garbage.

I guess I should have clarified that I wasn't rear ended by a car, lol. My roommate and I were biking downtown to get lunch, I stopped when I got onto the sidewalk after crossing the street and he wasn't paying attention and was right behind me and slammed his bike right into my back wheel. Thankfully it was a company bike and I was able to get it fixed at work today.

The other time I was hit by a car as I was switching into the left turn lane to turn into my office. I signaled and checked over my shoulder and didnt see any cars so i figured I'd be safe but I was mistaken I guess, same damage. Thankfully I wasn't hurt either time.

And yeah honestly I didn't know how to ride a bike before this summer either. Like I had learned when I was 12 but then I completely stopped after I was 13 because my parents were just willing to drive me around until i got my first car. I had completely forgotten how by the time I made it out to California this summer but I had to teach myself quickly because I don't have a car out here and its my only easy way to get to work / stores / anywhere not across the street. Its a lot easier to learn as an adult though lol, I had it mostly figured out after a day or two and you build up some strength pretty quickly when you have to bike to and from work every day and your work's campus is so big that you need to use company bikes to get from building to building remotely efficiently. I really like bike riding now though, kinda wish I owned a bike back home but I doubt I'd actually use it ever because of my car.

My parents actually had made me take a roller blading class in like 4th grade so I used to be able to get around pretty well on them but I've completely forgotten how to use the damn things at this point.

At 26, I still bike as much as possible, but currently I'm limited to cycling around my neighborhood on my days off, so to make up for it, I skateboard to and from my office and the parking garage.

I love bikes and ice skating. Went hiking on a frozen marsh last winter, was pretty epic, could skate miles on end...

I used to bike 20 miles to school and back during spring and autumn of last 2 years of high school.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

skating and skiing are quite similar motions. I found skiing pretty easy because I'd been skating my whole life before I tried.

you do really need someone who knows how to skate to help you out though if you're trying to learn. it's such a different motion from walking that if you don't know what to do you can waste a lot of time walking on skates and never getting anywhere.

Oh hi I'm alive etc. Should probably post here more.

Was up in Edinburgh for a Wii U Smash Bros tourney this weekend, came 7th which I'm pretty happy about. Drove up with 3 other people (2 London, 1 Cambridge), and didn't get more than 2 hours sleep from midday Friday to Sunday evening, so I have no clue how I did so well in the end. The other guy who came up from Cambridge got 1st place, so yay.

Bonus points to the guy who drove us as it was 7 hours each way, he was doing commentary for the stream too so really not sure how he survived it...

Ah well, next tourney is on Saturday in London. Way less of a pain to get to.

Bracket for the tourney here for the curious, I had a pretty insane Losers Bracket run after screwing up my second set: http://armagedinburgh.challonge.com/smash4

had an extremely busy, tiring, expensive, but ultimately fantastic weekend trip over to seattle for cap hill block party. i finally saw one of my favorite bands, diiv, and later saw zach cole smith and his girlfriend (and famous musician/model) sky ferreira just hanging out at the fest so i talked to cole and took a picture. i'm still pretty starstruck.

the low point of the weekend though was losing my [bleep]ing iphone during flatbush zombies. their set was insane and everyone was going [bleep]ing crazy, so i handed my friend my stuff cuz i was gonna crowd surf aaand sure enough my phone was to never be seen again. i'm mostly just really upset because i'm a [bleep]ing idiot and apparently i never backed anything up to iCloud, so i lost over 1,000 pictures from the past year, not to mention all my contacts and notes and stuff. ohhhhhhh wellllll agghhhh

I had a dream about an escape route in a castle. Basically, it would be a relatively obscure tunnel with a set of stairs going down, staying level for about 100 yards, and then going up again. At the top of the second set of stairs, there was a way to dam a sizable stream of water (basically a heavy metal door that was above the exit of the stream, locked in place by a horizontal metal bar). In order to prevent the opposing force from reaching our party, I pulled the bar and dropped the door, thus flooding the 100 yard passage and preventing anyone from following.

I wonder if such a thing existed in reality. Seems kind of difficult to pull off in reality (since you need a steady source of water and advance notice)), but I guess it could.

No tracking software on your phone or anything? D:

nope :/ I coulda sworn I had it hooked up to iCloud which would've made it possible to track via find my iPhone, but apparently I only ever set that up with an old iPod touch and not my iPhone.

it has a passcode on it so I'm not too concerned about them trying to get personal information or whatever if someone even has it, I've kept calling it and it goes straight to voicemail anyways. I'm just assuming it got crushed in the crowd.

The iPhone finder is great, I used it a couple years ago to find my phone at a tweaker motel in Palms Spring after it was stolen from our hotel room in the middle of the night, which is also extra weird because we were in there, but that's another story. Shitty yours wasn't turned on though, but it also doesn't work if the phone is turned off.

My girlfriend got scammed on her lease so now she's homeless for 48 hours and out something like $950. The landlord has until Saturday to get his shit together legally, but there's gonna be so many pressed charges otherwise, and subsequently my girlfriend will be moving in with her mom and brother. What a day

I brielfy skimmed through an article earlier today about a man suing Etihad Airlines for seating him next to an obese person (think it was a man) on a 14 hour flight, and as a result he now suffers from back problems which has an impact on his sleep and career. All i can say is it's about damn time someone started suing for this bullshit. Hope he gets every single penny and more. It's time airline start getting their shit together.

Or maybe if you're to fat to fit in one seat you should pay for two.

Claiming that you suffer from back problems as a result of sitting next to an obese person seems a bit absurd, but I won't have much sympathy for the airlines if they're forced to pay out money. And I don't know about over there but here you can end up paying substantially more for a first class seat over a regular one. It's kind of a waste of money and you shouldn't have to pay that just to get something reasonable.
