While out shopping today Michelle and I found a cool card shop. Contains mostly MTG cards and a lot of stuff for D&D. However we found this card game and had to pick it up. I've played it before and it is so much fun. Basically you build dungeons with cards. At the end you have a boss you select while heroes travel through your dungeon. If they die before they reach the boss monster you get a soul point, if the make it though the dungeon without dying you get a blood point. First person to 10 soul points wins. Lot's of fun :)

EDIT: Also while browsing ESPN I noticed they added a new eSports section. This has to be the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. I don;t look or act like it but I am a closet sports junkie. I love Football both NFL and NCAA, basketball both NBA and NCAA along with MLB and soccer (please don't kill me for calling it that but it the states that is what we call it).

So the aim is to kill off the heroes successfully then, sort of reverse roles to usual? I think I've played an RPG-oriented type of game like this online before, but sounds fun.

Pretty much. Played 3 games the first time I saw it was hooked.

So my travelling for the rest of my year abroad is sorted. I'm going skiing early February after my first three midterms and then for reading week I'll just go to a small town by a lake in Northern Ontario. In March I'll be heading back to Montreal with the official band of my host university which should be good. Marching bands aren't really that big of a thing In the UK. I have to get used to some of the words used by Canadians when they're talking about musical scales but at the moment mission make-more-canadian-friends is going quite well. Most of my friends from first semester were European exchange students so pretty similar to me in that they liked drinking stupid amounts of alcohol all the time. Definitely toning it down a lot this semester as most of the people I'd have had drinks with have gone back to Europe anyway .

I'll go to the states another time. Flights are expensive and I really hate waiting at the border. It really lengthened our travel time when we went to New York

I'm having such a blast ice-skating.

Nearly every day out on the rink.

Teaching new moves to my mates.

Such a [bleep]ing shame that I have that surgery on Wednesday and this will be it for this winter for me then...

I preordered the collector's edition for Street Fighter 5. It comes with a sweet 10 inch statue of Ryu and a 48 page hardcover artbook. This is probably the best collector's edition of a game I've seen in years. The only way it could have been made better is with a steelbook covers for the game.

Think about it this way: it's something that's probably bound to come out sooner or later. Probably sooner rather than later, as my boss often teases me about my lack of qualification. So now this guy invested time and money into moving halfway across the world, two weeks later he finds out he's more qualified than his boss yet he paid 3 or 4 or 5 times less, starts giving me attitude, i have to fire him, and he has to go back home. So by being upfront with him, i not only saved him time, but i also saved him money.

I arrived in Greece yesterday afternoon. Pretty cold. I don't think i've ever been here in January before, so i really didn't expect it to be as cold as it is. My entire day yesterday was strange. I got slightly carsick on the way to the airport. The slight turbulence on approach made my stomach turn a bit too. I can't even remember the last time something like that happened to me. Usually it takes a lot for me to feel sick on a plane.  This is my 3rd time traveling to Greece alone in the past 6 months and each time it becomes increasingly more... depressing. I get that i'm not here to party or have a good time. I'm here to write exams. But i've become so accustomed to being around people all the time, it feels strange when i'm not.

I spent this weekend up north skiing for the first time with a bunch of friends at one of their cabins. It was a blast, even though I was completely horrible and could still barely make it down their bunny hill by the end of the day. I'm glad I got finally got to try it at least once before I move out of the state. I learned the hard way on the drive up that my tires are [bleep]ed though and are not winter-ready at all, but I really don't have the money right now to get them replaced right now, especially when I'm probably just selling the car at the end of the summer anyways... whelp.

The Canadian cold is really getting to me now.

I feel very sick.

I haven't got a whole lot to say other than this sucks.

I'm okay for about 10-15 minutes and then it starts to claw at me. I just want to hibernate at this point.

Trust me, Canadians feel this way too. Especially since I think you guys (Toronto/Ottawa) are sitting at -25ish.

We had -25 around two weeks ago. Then noone was sick. Now, for the first time, we are approching zero and now everyone gets suddenly sick. 4 people that I know got sick by today morning.

Also, that knee surgery in 9 hours.

[bleep]ing nervous.

Well to me anything in the region of 15-20 is already bordering on the region of too cold (taking into account things like wind and humidity). Anything below that makes me incapable of functioning. I really hate the cold. Right now it's something like 7c in Greece and i hate it. I still have to take a walk later on to go buy food, and i'm really just dreading it. I much rather prefer 45c to 15c, but that's probably because it's easier to condition warm weather than it is to condition cold weather in my house. And i really don't like having to wear several layers of clothing. Makes me feel too constricted. I really hate winter...

I'm doing a little better when I wear a sweater with a Cardigan on top and a hoodie on top of that and finally my coat. My jeans let the cold in but I can tolerate it. My boots have become uniform. It always looks like I'm upset because my eyes are so red.

First midterm of this semester 7pm Friday .

I go Tim Hortons before my 8.30 class and it keeps me alive for a little while.

My attendance is a lot better which is good.

This just reminded me of Florida back in 2012, having to wake up at 5am to be ready for a flight at 6am with weather so cold my hands were ice cubes. And then to make matters worse you're flying at ~3000ft where the weather is ~6C colder than on the surface. You're in an old plane with a heater that doesn't work, and even if it did work you couldn't use it without a high risk of getting carbon monoxide poisoning. And just to make things even a little better, sometimes you'd have to open your window while flying to see what's going on underneath you. Ahhh, those were the days.

Also: "A ten year-old Muslim boy has been questioned by police after mistakenly writing that he lives in a 'terrorist house' instead of 'terraced house' in a piece of school work". Happened somewhere in the UK. Not sure why, but i found it pretty hilarious. It's crazy that this sort of action was taken in this situation, but situations so much worse get ignored because of "freedom of speech".

I like cold weather.

Warm underwear is [bleep]ing epic. And I love skating, skiing, snowfights, snowboarding, whatnot.

And I miss out this winter cause right now my right knee is twice the size of my left knee, it has bled through the bandages and I'm in pain. Oh, so [bleep]ing much pain.

Didn't help that I got my painkillers from the local pharmacy 8 hours after I should have gotten them.

I hate doing things in the winter but if all I'm doing is laying around in bed I don't mind it at all
