Best laptop experience I had was a Compaq that lasted almost 3 years for $450. I practically gave that thing aids what with all the cracked iso games and limewire

My laptop was until this week my main gaming machine. And it does pack somewhat of a punch, could even run DA:I on it.

With this one, I didn't even get that many pirated games. With steam sales and humble bundles and gog sales I just have that big of a backlog that I don't need to pirate anymore.

I'm done with desktops in general. It's definitely worth paying the extra couple hundred dollars to have something portable. There's no point in having a huge rig that forces you to sit at a desk unless you really need the extra money.

What laptop is only "[an] extra couple hundred dollars" and equivalent or better than my rather old desktop: i5-4670, Radeon RX 460, 16 GB RAM, 2 TB HDD 7200 RPM / 128 GB SSD? In total, it was about $1,000.

It would need an excellent keyboard and a 1080p IPS (or equivalent) screen, mind. And it must support VT-d.

Aren't laptops really difficult to upgrade though? I couldn't upgrade my old laptop without replacing the motherboard and shit. But with the desktop I built, I can upgrade and replace tons of parts if I ever need to, without having to buy a completely new computer

Absolutely, but I have no problem sticking with a laptop for 3-4 years

Buying guns online sucks. I found a dealer in Missouri who has police trade-in Glock 22s for less than $300, but federal law requires that I have the guns shipped to a licensed dealer in my state who will run the NICS check (or won't, because I have a concealed pistol license). All the dealers around me want ~$50/gun to let me have the gun shipped to them and for about five minutes of paperwork to fill out the sales record for the ATF... which makes it much less of a deal than if I could just have the things shipped to me.

export fees to canada run around $250 CAD (200 USD), so I don't feel sorry for you :P

Ouch. Is that to import as an individual, or do commercial importers pay that and roll it into the selling price?

Typically people get a broker to handle importing, and that's their fee. That includes a whole bunch of stuff, like the actual government import fee, pinning magazines, doing paperwork, etc.

If you buy from a store that already has an import agreement it's not so bad. You just have to deal with the bad exchange rate, and their markup.
