Is this seriously turning into a "the real bigots are the people that notice bigotry" sort of thing...? Like it's one thing to drag the argument into a completely irrelevant context and demand that it only be argued on those terms (teabagging) and another to try to derail it further with that sort of nonsense.

I think I'll buy battlefield 1 soon. Anyone else play it yet?

It actually looks... good? Like the plot is actually worth paying attention to and the gameplay looks solid? Like there's still some general shooter-balance weirdness but if it's still a generic military shooter it's one that tried super hard not to be. Granted, I haven't played it myself and I'm usually not big on shooters that aren't mobility playgrounds, so take that with as many grains of salt as you need.

Pretty much every programming community sucks. Like, usually programmers in real life are cool, but the online communities seem to attract the lonely neckbeard type of programmers. It's always alt-right bullshit, women suck, not-so-casual racism in every off topic conversation.

I think there tends to be a bit of a correlation between one's lack of social skills and one's interest in programming, gaming, and stuff like that. And I also think people tend to blame the world around them for their shortcomings as a gut reaction, rather than looking for reasons why their own decisions and beliefs might be the problem. So when people have bad social skills and bad experiences with the opposite sex, combined with their initial tendencies to blame everyone but themselves for their circumstances, it's easy to see how some people can gravitate to certain political movements which center around blaming some external group of people for their problems

Not really. Maybe a little more than other occupations, but all of the people I've worked with and met at conferences have been perfectly normal. There's just a selection bias because the anti-social, neckbeardy types don't get good job offers and they don't network with other programmers outside of online communities. So it stands to reason that they seem a little more common online since the real world pushes them away, which feeds back into their bitter attitudes.

Quoting again for reassurance. You will always remember.

Also, as far as I remember you were always into "black" girls so I don't find this nearly as ground breaking as you seem to.

Bought Battlefieeld 1, currently downloading 40 [bleep]ing gbs. Yeesh.

Never really black girls. I always had a thing for Indian/Pakistani girls. Still do to be honest. But i just never really found myself attracted to a black girl before, until last night. Damn... She and her entire group of friends were so damn hot.

GOG sale is here. I feel sorry for my wallet. And my empty stomach.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

Today I finally leveled my Fire Trapper to Level 97 in Diablo II! Apparently I need a minimum of 2970 more Baal runs to hit Level 98, so RIP my life.

Okay, someone on this thread will be more knowledgable than me here: I finally got my first paycheck, and I'm getting ready to buy a new computer. But Thanksgiving is coming up, and consequently, Cyber Monday, so I'm trying to decide whether I should wait until then to buy some or all of my parts with the assumption that they'll be on sale, or if the savings will be negligible enough that I should just get things now.

Also if anyone has some nice $1000 builds to recommend I'd take those. I'm probably going to build my own using someone else's parts list, because I'm so overwhelmed by actually picking things out myself >.>

(I could make a thread in the appropriate forum, but heck that honestly)

My skin is finally getting soft
I'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

On Friday i went to a barbecue with my sister. Apparently one of her friend really wanted to meet me. We hit it off right from the get-go. I didn't actually expect it to be honest. We're gonna have a date sometime in the next few days, see how it goes. She seems very keen. I'm slightly nervous because she's got 8 years on me. Not really sure why i'm nervous. It sounds really stupid of me to say this, but this girl (guess i should call her a woman instead) seems different to the typical superficial girl i usually meet around here.

I quickly scanned through an old HDD before I wiped it and stumbled on a bunch of pictures.

Some of them were of the house, and I can't begin to describe how anxious the disorganization/clutter makes me feel. These pictures were a few months before my mom passed, and the house got worse after. Since I cleaned it back in January, the house hasn't seen a messy day.

A few had me in them. I was so round.

And one of them had my mom in them. She was on oxygen, watching TV on the couch. That was terrible. She loved TV. I have dreams where I'm trying to get her to watch the latest Doctor Who, or some new show that I know she would've liked.

I'm sad now. :(

Today I voted.

Got to vote against Senator Richard "Big Brother" Burr and Governor Pat "Sucker (Genital) Punch" McCrory, among others.

I want Burr to go so badly. He's a disgusting politician.

Unrelated: this article, McDonald's sues Florence for 18m euros for blocking restaurant, seems like something out of some dystopian fiction piece. But it's not...
