Adderall.

What kind of classes? For math based classes, working practice problems is the best way to study for quizzes/exams. For memorization and fact based classes, a lot of people find flash cards a good way to learn definitions and principles.

“I had a feeling we weren’t coming back from this fight when it began.”

“Do you have any regrets?”

“I don’t. It seems surprising, I know, but I wouldn’t change a thing. This is how it was meant to be.”

“Huh, you never really notice how lovely the day is until you realize you’ll never see it again.”

“Mmmhmm.”

I found myself to be most studious when I used my breaks between classes to go to the library and do my homework which left a large happy gap of responsibility between me working and sleeping. Mostly just take advantage of the time you have (as a college student, you have more than you think) to not only explore that cool new Web series on Hulu, but to actually do your homework/studying. It's amazing how much homework you can knock out in 20 minutes

@Major - I've considered trying adderall it at the same time I'm already broke. I think I just need millions of flashcards then because it is almost all rote memory.

@Lower - Hard to do a GPA because the majority of classes are actually just pass/fail but I'm probably pulling of at least that now. Just thinking I need better habits before anything heavier hits.

@Ring - Any suggestions on a good program for that? Lots of reading that I get assigned and I find it very hard to read the textbook.

@Rpg - Might need to start doing that. Right now I tend to treat any between class time as social time and I can definitely see it being better study time.

After/between your classes, go to the library while you're still in "productive mode." It's a lot easier than going home, relaxing and getting comfortable by not studying, and then trying to get productive again. An object in motion stays in motion

Never done adderall but my friend aced one of the most difficult med school courses by studying like 8 hours/day with it

I always had to binge study. I can't just study for an hour at a time. I have to do like 8 hours in 1 day and stay up to like 3 am to get anything done

Exact opposite problem. Unless a deadline is looming and I have an actual assignment to do I find it hard to force myself to study for more than 40ish minutes before procrastinating for at least an hour. I think my biggest issue is just dry and boring material that I have to try and slog through. Anything interesting however, I'll study that no problem.

My problem might resolve itself though as I have much more interesting classes next semester and right now I don't think I can fail any courses unless I forget everything I already have memorized.

I would avoid studying in your dorm/house. If you really want to study in your own place, at least do something like designate a chair as 'the study chair', and do nothing but study when you sit in it. I prefer going someplace like the library, simply because it gives you fewer options to do other stuff (leave your phone behind if you have to), but also an association thing (which is why I recommend the chair).

I find it helps me, at least.

Still trying to make a final pick for a new GPU to get this year. I think I've been convinced to stay on team Red pending more DX12 and Vulkan based game releases, along with better long term driver support, but I'm still hoping to see more cards go on sale, or on bigger sales. AMD vendors seem to be secretly trying to kill AMD by charging more vs the comparable Nvidia models. I'm also back at the classic problem that everything AMD makes seems to want to light your computer on fire. The Gigabyte G1 or Windforce are currently my best bet, though the G1 seems to be having hardware problems, as is Saphires card, so that's fun. I've been absolutely tickled pink with my ASUS mobo, so at this point I'd be pretty happy if they'd go on sale since I'd just as soon buy from them. Same goes for XFX, from whom I bought my current GPU.

Oh well, fun times.

I wouldn't say Nvidia skimps on older card support. My laptop has a lot newer AMD card and it has not had any updates to drivers in over 400 days. Meanwhile. the GTX670 I got for me desktop got a new version of drivers 2 days ago...

I only buy Nvidia because Nvidia actually provides native binaries for FreeBSD (and Solaris, though that's probably less surprising). Since maybe 0.0000000001% of people use FreeBSD, the manufacturer providing support is a major selling point.

I need a "business formal" outfit. I don't want to spend a lot of money buying one. I was looking around and I found these:

http://www.hm.com/us/product/56484?article=56484-A

http://www.hm.com/us/product/51618?article=51618-A

Would the two of these together be business formal? Do you know of any better options?

Business formal usually means full suit. Not sure what your finances are like, but you should be able to get a decent one for 250-300, or a crappy one for 100 or so. It is useful to have one in your wardrobe as well, for miscellaneous fancy occasions. You'd want some nice shoes, a dress shirt, and a tie as well.

When you say a full suit, do you mean a top and bottom from the same make and model, for lack of a better phrase? Is what I posted not a full suit because the jacket and pants are different styles, or is it because of the material or something else?

Doesn't playstation run on freeBSD?

It's a highly specialized proprietary fork of FreeBSD, yes. The exploit used to gain super-user privileges via WebKit exploited an old FreeBSD kernel escalation bug.

Full suit means:

Suit jacket

Dress pants

Dress shirt

Dress shoes

Tie

Jacket and pants should match (usually black or grey). Same make/model.

Alternatively if you don't want the jacket and pants to match then you could wear a blue blazer and khaki pants or dress pants. Still wear a tie, dress shirt, and dress shoes.

I got a solid suit at Kohls for $100. Is it awe inspiring? No. Do people tell me I look great when I wear it? Every time. Just find a designer that fits you right and it'll all fall into place.

Unrelated, I bought a big ass 50" tv because black Friday go America. It didn't fit in my car and then I felt stupid. But now it's in my house that doesn't have cable so for now it's a super expensive YouTube machine.

You can buy an antenna and get pretty decent public TV on it still. How did you get it home anyway?

I've had 5 suits in my life so far. Never go H&M.

A proper suit is something you shouldn't skimp on. Unless you wear it 4-5 days a week like I do, it'll last a lifetime.

I don't really have interest in 90% televised programming, but my roomate just hooked up his wiiU so at least we have that going now.

I had to get my girlfriend to drive my car back to my house to pick up her car to drive the TV back to my house. It was silly but it worked out.
