I went to the store late last night, around 1am-ish because i was craving some ice cream. The store up the road, a little convenience store, is the same one i've been going to since we moved here. So nearly 10 years. Been run by the same people all this time. Generally i go to the store at least 3 or 4 times a week, but yesterday was the first time in about 2 months i went to that specific store. Usually i only go there to buy cigarettes, and since i bought a lot of cigarettes on the airport with my last visit to Greece, i had no real reason to go there. Anyway, so last night i went to buy some ice-cream and ended up having like a 30 minute conversation with two of the owners. They just asked where i've been since they haven't seem me around in so long. And i realised something i hadn't really thought of before, and it's something i guess i always somewhat took for granted, but they're always treated me really well. I always get preferential treatment when i go there. And there have been so many times i would go to the store in the middle of the night to buy cigarettes but not have my wallet with me and they'll just tell me to pay them back next time. Small things like that.

Also realised that, apart from my parents, they're really the only other people in this country that have "watched me grow". They're the only other people that saw me go through my different phases and stages of life. I don't know why but it gave me a strange warmth.

I've not had any bond (for lack of a better term) with a store quite like that, but there have been a couple places I frequented enough to become familiar with the staff. One summer I ate just way too much fast food, and would usually have the same person ring me through, and they actually went out of their way to get me a discount. So, on the upside the fast food cost me a less ludicrous pile of money; on the other hand, that was a pretty big sign I was eating there way too often :D

There was also a corner store like two doors away from where I used to live. When I first moved in, the owner and I sort of bonded over our hated of the crazy person who lived in the house between us (the nonexistent noise we were making was keeping her dead husband awake crazy). The crazy person eventually moved out, and the store owner moved back to Ontario a few years later to be closer to the rest of his family.

One time, a game shop I visited weekly just stopped checking whether I had a membership after a few times and therefore no one noticed for literally 9 months that I wasn't being charged every month after their system failed, even though I was on a first name basis with multiple baristas, and they would just come hang out while we played sometimes.

I also used to go to an ice cream/gas station place on my way home from Taekwondo once a week in high school. They were essentially 2 separate stores, though, and I only ever went to the ice cream place. I would walk in in my gi, pay exact change for a 1-scoop cone, and leave. Once I came back my first college summer, the cashier of the gas station saw me and was like "Hey man, it's been a while!"

My skin is finally getting soft
I'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

I think our "new member" is a spambot who has already been banned

Ran into an old highschool fling last night. Of all places i'll run into her here. 10 years later, halfway across the world. Same girl who once told me she couldn't date me because i wasn't popular enough and her friends would think bad of her. Got a date with her later this week. Pretty nervous to be honest. She's still a total babe though. Hasn't changed one bit.

Met my biological dad for the first time pretty much ever. After 23 years of acting like not knowing me at all invited me to the extended family reunion out of the blue. I went.

Turns out, he is a "disabled" racist unemployed drunk. Disability is a bit of a joke and unemployed is also questionable, since he has a million dealings going on all the time, however according to law he is that.

My real dad is a hardcore metalhead American muscle loving beer-drinking dude. Long blonde hair, cowboy boots all the time, Route 66 jacket (certified, rode it through), owns the only Hummer H1 in the country, also owns a GMC Syclone, a chopper, and some more huge classics.

I now know where my egoism and arrogance and activity comes from.

Life is strange.

Pretty sure the only reason she said that was because i wasn't exactly the most attractive kid in high school and telling me i'm unpopular (which i mean, i was) is better than telling me i'm ugly as shit and i should stay in the friend zone i was placed in. Know what i mean? Besides, i mean it was 10 years ago. Literally. I'm sure she's changed.

Read obfuscator's post while picturing his signature in your mind.

[spoiler=Spoiler]He was taking a quote of out context to make a joke.

Also, Littlefinger is alive in episode S02E04. You were warned!

You bastard! I am only on S01E01. I can't wait to see what my favourite characters Robb Stark and Khal Drogo are doing in season 7!

Is your known dad from America then? Because that's about as stereotypical American as you can get

Something happens to Bran? HOW CAN YOU SPOIL THIS TO ME???

(actually having the GoT live at 3 AM on Sundays at the same time as the glorious states of USA is pretty sweet)

And RPG, no. He is Estonian.

From a small village in the countryside even. Used to love BMW's over everything else way back when my mom and he met.

I've been growing my hair for about 18 months now, maybe a bit longer. I think it looks pretty good. My hairdresser told me that not a lot of guys can pull off long hair, but i have the right features to pull it off. I trust his judgement. Anyway, my hairline has also been increasingly receding over the past couple of years, so when i tie my hair back my forehead becomes rather large. Again, not a big issue, it still looks fine. The only problem is that during summer, and especially during the end months of summer when it becomes extremely humid, my head looks like a fresh polished bowling ball. I swear it's like my entire body is completely dry except for my forehead which is covered in a thin layer of sweat, giving it the most obnoxious shine ever. Started carrying a handkerchief with me at all times just to keep my head dry and not a reflective surface. I feel like an old man.

Anybody know a car rental in California (heck, the whole USA?) where I can get a manual? I just don't feel that much in control without having the chance to control my traction and rpm's.

On topic, [bleep]ing cold out here. Everything was frozen this morning. Nice summer.

Probably not unless you go for some expensive sports rental. Most americans don't drive manual so car rentals don't usually have then. That being said most new cars that I've seen have a push button/slap stick manual setting, not a true manual though.
