I'm working on 99 Woodcutting in F2P on OSRS. Do it while I catch up on YT/TV/Whatever. I just like watching numbers go up, makes me feel a little more productive. I highly, highly doubt I'll ever play seriously again.

I think my brother still actively plays. I also have a mate of mine, who is nolifing RS. Like seriously, he goes to classes and then just stays in his room to play. Didn't see him out a single time during my last year in Tartu.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

That's one of the biggest reasons I quit. During the school year I would just afk woodcutting or runecrafting while doing schoolwork or watching TV. It did make me feel a little more productive, but at some point I realized I was just wasting time accomplishing nothing.

I quit because eventually leveling up and collecting money felt more like work than fun. I calculated all sorts of growth rates and found all kinds of effective ways of leveling up, but by then it just wasn't fun anymore. Turns out I really enjoyed the social aspect, and by the time that died out there was nothing left for me

Lot of cool things happening here. I know most people have left but still want to keep people in the know.

Life couldn't be better. I got out of an abusive relationship about 2 years ago that almost drove me to killing myself. After about 6 months of being in a loving relationship and counseling I am doping much better. My current girl friend and I live in Radford VA, but plan on moving to a house we just bought in Roanoke VA. I currently work at dish network as advance tech support. I couldn't be happier.

Honestly, the only reason i'm playing right now, and the only reason i might even consider playing on a semi-regular basis, is pure boredom. There's a decent period of time between my exam periods where i do absolutely nothing. I can't work, because finding a job that would be okay with me traveling every month or every other month is pretty much impossible, and i can only play so much Injustice 2 before i feel like breaking something. So it's fun to do something i don't have to think about, every now and then. Can't really ever see myself playing as much as i used to a couple of years back. Just don't have that grind left in me anymore. I think my normal day-to-day life takes up the mental energy i used to spend on Runescape.

Was reading up/watching some videos earlier on building a PC. How to put everything together, etc. Kid of realised i went a bit overboard when buying parts. Don't really think i need something as powerful to achieve what i ultimately want to achieve. But at least it's gonna look really nice. So that's a bonus.

Speaking of RuneScape, I made something pretty cool...

I want to create a resource that connects things like locations, items, actions, shops, etc. Then you could perform queries like "Make 100 iron platebodies" or "Finish quest 'While Guthix Sleeps'" and it would give you a list of necessary dependencies, optimized by values you provide.

So i was talking to a friend earlier today. Told him about the PC i bought and how much the shipping was. So he asked me why i didn't just buy one pre-assembled here, or import the parts from the UAE. I explained to him that the same build would have cost me at least $1500 more pre-assembled, or $1000 more if i bought the parts from the UAE. And that's if you can even find the specific items. So now we're actually thinking of importing parts every week, and selling the PC for ~$1200 profit. There's a pretty big market for it here, and the finished product will beat store prices by like 20% or more, while outperforming them. Just import, build, sell online. Should easily be able to sell it within a week too. Should be an easy way to make some extra cash on the side.

Are people over there that willing to buy from an individual over a store? And hope you don't get in trouble with taxes and such...

We don't pay taxes here, first of all. And second, people would probably be more willing to buy from an individual than from a store when it comes to something like this. The customer service at these kind of stores is awful. The people have no idea what they're doing. When i was reading up on where i could buy parts here in Qatar i came across several topics on different websites where people said the salesmen at stores would try to sell you components that weren't even compatible with your motherboard and all that would say is "no problem, same same". So, not that i know too much more about this shit, at least i know everything is compatible and good quality.

My brother was awesome and wrote a tool that spits out JSON from Wiki templates, and I downloaded a database dump of the RS Wiki and ran the tool over it. A lot of data can be extracted with minimal effort (...mostly artisan skills like smithing), but then there's a lot that can't  (...mostly, all other skills).

I'm just surprised there's no good parsable data about RuneScape levels and crap but like everything RuneScape, stuff is just hacked together...

There's still some areas here on the far side of the Earth that are absolute crazyness to me. People riding on the wrong side of the road. Constant speeding. Max speed on rural roads is 100.

Blatant disregard to safety, or, on the contrary absolute control over it due to a huge amount of occupation-related and traffic-related deaths.

At least already made some local acquaintances aswell.

What's the max speed up your way? 100's normal over here in Aus too.

Max speeds here are 100 kph, but people mostly go 120 on the highway if there's good flow. 80 generally on rural highways.

Today I got into an argument with one of my teammates for my League of Legends LAN team... There's a lot of "drama" going on for this team and it's annoying. I may actually leave it assuming that our key top lane player actually leaves like he said he would, and our mid lane player decides to lead even though he has probably the least experience, is super arrogant, and lets emotions override judgment. That spells disaster, and I get the feeling that's one reason why our top lane player decided to leave, but we shall see...

I love competition and I understand how esports was born, but damn I miss just playing games for fun instead of for rank. Just a few weeks back I asked my girlfriends brother to play some PUBG, but he declined in the interest of maintaining his rank because he only plays with a very select group of ultra competitive guys. I think every game (I guess mostly FPS/MOBA) trying to break into esports level MLG bullshit ruined the game industry. Make games fun again!

That's why i can't play shit like CoD anymore. I remember back in the days of BO2 and even before that, played used to play for fun. They'd run around with shitty guns, shitty perks, etc. just playing to have fun, troll, whatever. These days it's full of people hopped up on addy and sweating g-fuel. Even playing TDM you're constantly up against people just trying way too hard. I actually thought about getting CoD this year, but even the thought of how sweaty lobbies are going to be really just puts me off. It's like everyone is trying to be a professional gamer these days. Probably why i've enjoyed playing Smite so much over the past year or so. There are some game modes where people either don't know what they're doing, or they're just trying to have some fun, and that makes the game extremely enjoyable.

heh

edit: re game discussion, I like csgo for this...I can play competitive if I'm actually going to try or just play one of the various casual modes with friends

yeah I agree with the general consensus here. my game of choice is melee. If I go to a tournament I can generally take a couple sets but not make it out of pools, which I'm totally fine wiht because I most play for fun with a bunch of friends at the same skill level, and if I'm playing with people that don't play competitively I can play some of the shitty characters and still have fun. I start to hate any game that I actually have to take seriously and I don't really practice because of that, its just a hobby and I have no desire to take it to any further level.

Conducting a job interview for the first time tomorrow which is pretty weird to wrap my head around. It's a software development intern interview, so I have to just ask about their experience / figure out how much is bullshit and give a coding question. I thought I'd have the weekend to try to find a good question to use but then they just sprang this one on me instead so I'm using a question from someone else on my team and hoping it works out. It's just weird because it still doesn't feel like it's been that long since I've been on the other side of this. They scheduled it for 9 am too which I'm not looking forward to lmao but hopefully it doesn't go to terribly

Don't ask anyone to merge or sort things in an interview, how cruel can you get?

(Before I interviewed for my current position, I studied exactly 2 things, sorting and joins. I have forgotten everything from both and have to look it up again)

My skin is finally getting soft
I'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

Rocc0, if you haven't already done an internship, get one from one of your professors or through your colleges career center asap. I've seen some people get lucky and land solid jobs right after graduating, but it's too rare to really depend on in this day and age
