Haven't touched Overwatch in ages. Been meaning to get into it again, but my internet at my new house doesn't seem to cut it. Taking it as a mixed blessing; forces me to do actual school work.

I haven't either... and I don't think I'm missing out on much. I love the characters and those trailer videos for them... but I don't like toxic communities, and can't get myself to invest in another game like that.

Up until around June I was eating pizza everyday for lunch. Just a slice of Ellios, nothing huge. I wanted to experiment. Also it was cheap af. Somewhere around August I decided instead of eating pizza everyday (which I basically was, maybe doing something different 3-4 times a month) I would eat one of those pre-made salads you get at grocery stores for like $2.50. Tell you what, I'm not sure when or how fast I gained weight, but I sure as hell lost like 6-10 lbs in 2 months just from not eating pizza every day. Guess getting old means not eating pizza every day.

Who do you guys miss that used to post here?

Honestly Muggi, I know he's still around and replies from time to time but I found most of his posts to be helpful or at least interesting.

Muggiw and LenticularJ for sure. I also enjoyed seeing Tim post and a bunch of others. Isn't one of you folks iEatWindex?

I just got back from seeing Brand New. Their live performance is spectacular. Every bit of stage presence and presentation was incredible. Unfortunately due to their wide range of genres, there was a weird mix of punk moshers and post rock indie kids which lead to some real shit tier mosh etiquette. More than once some skin head rammed his way through a crowd of girls just to stat windmilling. I'm cool with most pits, even enjoy them in small doses, but this was just not the kind of show that should have a mosh pit for more than a song or two. But the fact that all these moshers were spread out in the crowd made it way more annoying. Totally cool when there's one big mosh that the area of people all agree to participate in. Totally douchey to just ram into people who are just chilling.

Prime example: listen to the song "137" by Brand New. The first minute or so is barely a song at all it's so slow and lax. And guess when the first crowd surfer of the night decided to land on my girlfriends head? The same one she let fall flat on their face for being a dip shit.

Still a good show though, I would definitely recommend seeing them if you happen to be lucky enough to get tickets

I made an awesome peanut butter brownie yesterday.

I replace the cocoa powder with peanut butter and include a little bit of molasses to compensate (I think that's how that works; if I don't add molasses when replacing the cocoa powder the brownie tends to sink in the middle, but it could be some other reason that happens). Also add a bunch of fillers (walnuts, almonds, peanut butter chips, and chocolate chips).

But I did something different. After I pulled it out of the oven, I made a chocolate glaze of sorts. 1/2 cups chocolate chips, 1/4 cup shortening, and 1 tbsp corn syrup. Poured it on the brownie hot. Let it cool.

The glaze soaked through the brownie, making it soft. It was delicious.

Made 12 brownies. 600-700 calories a brownies, lol. I'm only going to have a few halves (sans the whole one I had yesterday), the rest are going to family.

We haven't had a proper topic for a heated discussion, once we get one, all the lurkers automagically appear again.

Hot damn, did a 69,5h work week this week, in only 5 nights. Night shift supply chain TC, yo!

Never imagined I'd have THAT much disposable income.

Also still can't wrap my head around getting paid weekly by the hour, not monthly. I have no idea why they do stuff that way here down under.

Also, long weekend, labor day is on Monday, so a paid day off! Only 8 hours though...

I miss Muggi aswell. Others still post every once in a while.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

I had that exact dilemma twice in 6 months. Why do all new phones suck?

(Because they don't have small screens, is why, but ya kno)

My skin is finally getting soft
I'll scrub until the damn thing comes off

Maybe i'm just very careful with my shit, but i had an iPhone 4 for about 4 years and not once had to repair the screen. My iPhone 7 is just about to hit 1 year and i don't think i've even dropped it yet. I have a hard time understanding how people break their phones so fast.

I got back from Greece today, and on the flight back home i realized just how much better my trip was than previous trips, because i chose to step outside of my comfort zone a bit. A couple of months back when i stopped taking my ADD medication i developed really bad social anxiety. I got so used to the medication making me so much more outgoing, that i got too used to it and basically started relying on it for any sort of human interaction with people i didn't know very well. I was never even like this before i started taking the medication, i think it's just something caused by the medication. Anyway, as a result of my anxiety i would avoid going anywhere crowded when i was alone, which made it extremely tough going to Greece alone. I would often end up just eating either McDonalds the entire time i was there, or sandwiches i bought from a nearby deli. The only reason i felt comfortable going to the Deli was because i had been there so many times before, and the only reason i felt comfortable with McDonalds is because i knew chances of finding an english speaking employee was much higher than going to a local fast food joint/restaurant. I would basically avoid any local places unless they were empty, and that was hardly ever the case. But yesterday i decided to say screw it. I was really in the mood for some local food, some pork, some tzatziki, etc. So i ended up going to a place and bought some food there, and it was great. And afterwards i'm always hit with the same revelation: "That wasn't so bad". I don't know why i get so terrified of these things anymore. I never used to be like this. But it's something i really want to start working on changing a bit.

I've never damaged a phone screen ever. In this case the power button is broken so that it constantly turns on and off. I'm just going to get the same phone again (used). 120 US instead of 500+ for a new phone

Oh, I wrote an API for stuff like that a long long time ago. It's definitely a pain in the ass. The worst part is keeping it updated

That's why I extract it from the game!

The Make-X menu has the requirements, and I built a tool to parse that interface using my GPD thingy. So I go through each item in the Make-X menu, dump the results to a file that looks like this:

ITEM 210.000000 Shark
REQUIRE 80 Cooking Level
REQUIRE 1 RuneScape Member
INPUT 1 Raw shark

...and so import it into using my tool, Plato:

vvpWt28.png

Explanation: the 'cooking.range' action produces 1 'Shark' and 210 'Cooking' [xp], takes an input of 1 'Raw shark'. It also requires 1986068 'Cooking' [xp] (it makes the goal planner simpler to implement if I store skill requirements as XP, so it can improve the plan as it unlocks things from leveling up).

Any way you could open it up and fix it? A laptop I had was having an issue with the button and I just opened it and managed to fix the mechanism controlling it. I don't know if phones are so amenable to tinkering though...

I'd have to either replace the motherboard, or replace the power button on the motherboard. Both technically possible, but expensive/time consuming enough that buying a new phone makes more sense to me.

I do actually have my old one working now, I took out the external power button and manipulate the switch with a paperclip. Not a long term solution...

What kind of phone is it?

Unfortunately I'm a bit of a sheep who upgrades every two years. Would probably save money just buying a durable phone and keeping it.

Today I played some League of Legends ranked flex and lost a bit... but I think I'm getting back into the swing of things again as I've hard-carried some games:

12/0/4 Shyvana

18/4/7 Shyvana
20/5 /10 Vi

I need to be more consistent again though... It used to be super rare for me to get a negative KDA, but now it seems to be much more common -.-...

So I'm going to be going to my local community college come January...

I was in a pickle because I had transcripts, but 1) They were from a home school 2) The home school administrator is deceased 3) The transcripts were not notarized. But I was able to talk to the Admissions Director, and with some supporting documents (letter from the state, home school registration, and death certificate), they accepted the transcripts.

Had to take placement testing (gosh it's been over 7 year since I've even looked at a polynomial, lol), but it appears I passed everything there. Not entirely sure, I doubt I screwed up the essay portion (the only part that couldn't automatically be graded) enough to undo the other results. Going to touch up on some of the more complex math stuff on my own in the next couple months anyway, though. That was a painful experience.

On top of the other errands, I was busy from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Single break for dinner. Didn't even have lunch. Ugh.

Tomorrow will be a little better. Just have to go up and register for classes and get a haircut.
