Rams v Saints game was so [bleep]ing good.

I missed it for a board game night, but I heard the saints got robbed. Guess I was wrong about them taking it this year. Good for the Rams though

They kinda did get robbed. Play that should have been flagged just got ignored. Would have probably resulted in Saints getting an easy FG. But i'm still happy the Rams won. Can't believe i'm getting the SB ive been hoping would happen. Rams v Pats is gonna be so good.

I added 3 sets of prayers:

There's 3 that boost your defense bonus / level by 10%-50% based on your Faith level; 3 that boost your offensive stats by 10%; and 3 that boost your minimum damage by 10% of your Faith level.

The drain rate is pretty harsh on the offensive ones but even with just a Sailor's Hat (+4 divinity) and a Copper Badge (+1 divinity) you can get ~1 minute of the min-hit prayers at ~30 Faith. Combine that with faltering holy incense (1% of prayer points returned per second) and you can use it well at the bosses I suppose.

An investigator position opened up in an office closer to my house that I'm probably qualified for but it would involve me learning a whole new set of statutes and laws and I just don't know if it's worth the headache for an extra $250/month per paycheck. Plus I love working for my current boss.

And now with minimum wage getting bumped to $15/he, it might be worth just getting some bogus retail job on weekends instead

My plan when I get out of school to help pay down my debt is to work in Public Health and work in acute care on the side casually... thing is, I love public health nursing but if I'm to do NP school I need to have some sort of experience in acute care otherwise it'll be very difficult.

My plan to pay down debt, if/when I ever get out of school, assuming nothing has changed. Is just to get an oilfield gig, fly in/fly out 2 weeks on 2 weeks off and then work when I'm home anyway just to crank out some cash. Odds that I'll have the opportunity to do that? Maybe.

Oh yeah, debt reduction too is key. Thing is public health nursing only gives you 35 hours a week. If I can work on the side in acute care, I can add a 12 hour shift to that and give me 47 hours a week. I'll be dead every week, but I can use those extra 12 hours to pay down my debt directly.

So I have a nagging thought...

Despite everyone whose played my game liking it, I've had a very hard time to get people to play my game. I mean more specifically in real life: my friends and family say they'll play it but most of them haven't. (Two months later.)

If I can't get friends and family to play my game, how am I supposed to get people in general to do so?

Just youtube videos and marketing. Friends and family say they'll do a lot of stuff that they never actually do. It will probably be easier to entice strangers with some advertising or well place reddit/forum posts. I'd wager the real issue will be retention of players once you get going.

If you're just looking for people to play test your game, literally sit down with them and have them play in front of you. You'll get the most valuable feedback by observing people instead of relying on them giving you notes. That's how our UX testing at work tends to go, we just watch you use the software and fix any issues we see, and ignore most of what you tell us lol

Marketing is 90% of the success of a game, since it's such a saturated market. Unfortunately, that's how you've got to attract people.

Yeah I got distracted by MTG arena on Monday so I didn't get to download the latest version of Itsyrealm, my b. I'll give the link to my brother, he spends a good deal of time on the computer so he should probably be able to squeeze some play time in.

There was another game dev that posted here something like...god...9 years ago? The game played a lot like Golden Sun and the handheld Zelda series and my brother loved that back then. He even asked me for the link again when he got a new computer a while back.

Anywho, I would love to be more active in play testing for you Veiva but the reality is I spend next to no time on my PC. Maybe I'll get a day where I have a few hours on it, but then not again for 3-4 weeks. I think I've turned it on twice this year so far

Sales and marketing are the most important part of a business. Either read a lot of books and work in sales/marketing for a while and learn those skills yourself, or pay someone to do it for you
