A few months is plenty even if your completely new to programming.
I would recommend youtube and stack overflow.
The main issues you'll run into is setup problems.
1.) download python and make sure you ask google about how to put python on your system variables. This is a real annoying windows problem you'll probably deal with
2.) download pycharm. [bleep] anaconda and those other weird data science oriented tools. They suck for everything.
3.) find your python folder in your install directory. You'll be coming back here often, theres a 3rd party library downloader you'll use all the time called pip. Make friends with it and ask google for help. Coming from java where I could just maven import anything to my project this tool infuriated me for a while.
After that go to youtube for some python basic tutorials and find a project you want to work on and you'll end up having fun with it.
For me when I was learning python I made a web crawler that would traverse the 2007scape wiki and go to any linked article within the wiki. Heres the source code if you want. No idea if it still works
