Shouldn't there be something like Fn + F4 to toggle display modes?

So on easter sunday, I fell on a slippery nightclub floor and tore my lcl.

I've been in a leg splint for over a week and today I had to have some scans at the "trauma and deformity" clinic.

The name gave me a reason to laugh at least.

I don't know if anyone watches sex education on netflix (I don't) but I hung out with the guy who plays Eric in it and it was so strange being stopped for autographs and photos constantly.

Even weirder because I didn't know how big of a hit this show was - I still haven't gotten round to watching it but yeah the actor is super chill, funny and really lively too.

Also heading to Berlin for a weekend soon so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated (I don't log in here often enough to check replies to my posts but if I do, then thanks in advance lol)

Mirror puzzles.

tudNelb.png

I don't know how many people here did the quest Mourning's End Part 2 in RuneScape but mirror puzzles are going to be a big thing in my game. They power the Old One Prisium's terrible machines.

The initial puzzles will just involve getting a specific beam to a specific receiver, the more advanced puzzles will involve refracting light, creating multiple beams, etc. OooOoooOooh.

That's looking really good. I'm sure there's a lot you can add on past MEP2...now you just need to make sure they don't give up!

@Vieva pls make sure the puzzles stay colorblind accessible. As someone whos colorblind I run into a shockingly high amount of games who do color challenges.

The classic turn the mirrors to direct a laser is cool. Even apply 3 primary colors to lasers and have them focus on a focal point and when the overall beam turns white the door will open is cool too.

Please don't make a mirror challenge which correlates this particular shade of orange to the color 7 and if you arrange the mirrors in precisely the right way you can see that 8765 is the keycode to open the door

In the advanced settings there's going to be a way to specify color blindness when it comes to that. I'll have you covered.

I want my game to be very accessible. Feedback on how to improve for disabilities is always welcome. (This is aimed at anyone who plays not you in particular.)

re: puzzles, yes, there's not going to be anything like that. Extra gimmicks would be monsters that walk around and block the light, timed lights, etc. But the general idea is the same: direct light into a receiver.

I often forget that colorblindness is a thing, but then my co worker will remark how green his peanut butter looks and it all comes back to me

Game Maker's Toolkit recently did a neat series on accessibility in games, not sure how useful the info is, but it's a great YT channel that I'd recommend regardless.

I'm assuming the color puzzles are just cmy + rgb like in MEP2, right? Which should be accessible to color blind people, especially if you can examine (or whatever the equivalent is in your game) the beams

Yeah that would probably be fine. An examine option would be nice.

Say the goal is white or (FFFFFF) and your currently (DD45A5) with the current arrangement you could math it if you can visualize it

There will be an examine for colored beams if color is necessary puzzle element.

The examine feature works just like in RuneScape. That's something I loved about RuneScape--the witty examines. I pull a Dark Souls sometimes too and give an interesting examine for important objects/items.

Also check out the crab puzzle in 2007scape raids. Might be a good way to ease players into the color puzzles
