Da Pirates
This thread is basically where you post bands that used to be good, but something happened to them (They hit the mainstream, Band member committed suicide) I'll start. Disturbed used to be good. "The Sickness" has to be one of the best debut albums i've ever seen. "Believe" was amazing. I don't know which song was better, "Prayer" or "Liberate". They released "Ten Thousand Fists" next. A decent album with songs such as "Just Stop" and "Guarded". Then it happened. Disturbed was featured in Guitar Hero 3. This single-handedly killed them. They lost all their true fans (Like myself) and gained all fans who only liked them becuase they heard them on Guitar Hero, "Stricken" (the song featured on Guitar Hero) was the only song these wannabees knew. So I leave you with this: R.I.P. Disturbed 2000-2007 Post away. BR BR BR? HUEHUEHEUEHUE

Nadril
Yes, Disturbed got killed because more people heard them, what? They wern't even that good to begin with. Off the top of my head I'll just say Mayhem, after Dead shot him self. Oh and Pink Floyd after Syd left, but they were still better then most bands afterwards -- just didn't have the same feel. Oh and Pink Floyd after Syd left, but they were still better then most bands afterwards -- just didn't have the same feel. I would have to contend that Pink Floyd only became 'Pink Floyd' as people know them after (and arguably because of) Syd's departure. Of course I love Piper at the Gates of Dawn and the like, but I have to consider them as something other than Pink Floyd. The Disturbed story makes absolutely no sense. You didn't mention anything that might have changed or influence the band's music, you just said you hate them because other people like them, which is a loathsome attitude to have. Lateralus
Wow, that's absolutely ridiculous. If you stopped liking a band because of a non-musical issue (and not even an ethical one like vegetarianism or something, which I could sympathise with a little more) then you can't have been that into the music in the first place. Can you explain the thought process to me? I really can't understand. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.

Lateralus
Can you explain the thought process to me? I really can't understand. Because I support individualism :-w (You just got owned.) Individualism is a stance which opposes outside influence when making decisions, so clearly you don't support it. Sharing interests with other people does not make you any less of an individual. What you support is non-conformity for the sake of it. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.

AdioLovesSquall
/sigh, too many to name. At The Gates (their rise to 'melodic death metal' fame), Therion (their switch to homosexual metal after their third album) and Morbid Angel (just sucking) come to mind as having the biggest falls from grace. Harakiri
Metallica needs to give up...a new album? Come on...they were good in the 90's, but noiw they are a bunch of old guys who need some water for their sore throats...

AdioLovesSquall
linkinpark Agree, 100%. The first album was pristine and crystalline black metal in the vein of HLTO-era Burzum. Very reflecting and brooding. 'One Step Closer' invokes images of a fallen warrior crying over his dead wife's body after his village was raided. Their latest album sounds like a Dimmu Borgir and Blind Guardian fusion. [bleep]ing gay. I only see images of the lead singer sucking that other guy's sausage while jacking it to Shagrath. Thank god, I was reading the post and didn't notice that it was you, Adio. Was about to punch you in the face and then I saw your name. Hah I love yoru post xD. Hmm bands that have died... Acid bath, Sepultura after Arise (Although roots is okay). Metallica after Kill 'em all, that's the only album I really liked although some of their hits are pretty good. (Master of puppets, etc.) The possessed break up although they're back now but I haven't listened to them yet. Probably so much more but I'm to lazy >_>. ;>
