Live Concerts

I go to heaps and heaps, it is one of my favourite things to do. For a while i got bored of listening to music, something was missing from my music experience. Then i started going to gigs and it added a whole new dimension to my music repetoire, it was like i was born again music fan.

I have seen muse twice, the foos, tool, the killers, the fratellis, the white stripes, beastie boys and hundreds of others. a concert is what you make it though, it is easy to just sit in the stands and not enjoy it

I'm not the most avid gigger in the world but I've been to a few. The atmosphere depends on the band. What I mean is that I didn't go and mosh when I went to see Neil Diamond and I didn't sit in a chair when I went to see Lamb of God or Parkway Drive, etc.

I love going to live performances. You just don't get the same buzz listening to a single or a live DVD of the concert.

I've been to see Franz Ferdinand, Lostprophets and Kaiser Chiefs. All of them were pretty spectacular, being caught up in the crowd and everything, but I think Lostprophets was the one I enjoyed most. Wasn't the best gig, but it was all-standing, and it's better when everyone's standing. :P

In last 5 years I've watched 20-50 gigs+one festival/year, least when I was in the army.

I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.

I went to a ton of concerts this summer. The top were The Police, Birthday Bash, and Projekt Revolution (Atreyu was a lot better than I thought they'd be). I think that you get into the music more at a concert than you would listening to the radio.

Should probably go here.

I'm a bit weird. I absolutely love music--my life revolves around it--but I really don't like live concerts. I guess I don't enjoy it when music is played obnoxiously loud, as it is at all concerts. Also not a huge fan of the whole "going crazy in the mosh-pit" thing. If I ever do go to concerts, I'm always standing a little bit behind the mosh-pit just listening.

Cool.

The Eleventh Commandment:Thou Shalst only say "Amen, brother".

Amen, brother

Amen, brudda (referring to the 10th commandment)

That's impossible.

I agree with the point on volume. I mean sure, crank it up like crazy, but no so much that it's almost indistinguishable noise and in an eclosed club.

It's not always that bad, though.

I love concerts. I've seen Rob Zombie, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Shinedown, Tool, Mudvayne, Dragonforce, Disturbed, System of a Down, Marilyn Manson and Godsmack. I'm going to a show today actually, it's an all day 'festival' the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Tour, mainly going to see Dragonforce, Disturbed and Slipknot.

The Mars Volta is playing a show here in September ::'

I saw them when they played St. Paul. It was absolutely awesome, they played for 3 and a half hours straight. No warm up band either.

But bands I have seen live:

Rage Against the Machine at Alpine Valley Ampitheatre. 45,000 people crammed into an outdoor ampitheatre to see Rage play their 3rd concert in 8 years. Truly the most magical event I have experienced in my life. And I'm going to see them again (see signature)

Queens of the Stone Age

Slipknot

Disturbed

The Mars Volta

Dragonforce

Mastodon

Machine Head

Black Tide

Airbourne

Five Finger Death Punch

The Blood Brothers

The following I saw when I was in middle school with my mom, she really liked these bands:

Goo Goo Dolls

Maroon 5-when they were on tour with Matchbox 20 BEFORE anyone had heard of them.

Matchbox 20

Old 97s

Five For Fighting

Dude, it's awesome. Watch Black Tide, they're freakin' awesome. I just was at that show on Sunday.

I try to, but it's hard, since I don't have a job and can't drive. Me and my scooter gang (Wolverines for LIFE) only travel in packs, so we have to coordinate well. I've been to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert, and it was fantastic. Amazing pyrotechnics and LAZERZ.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Was going to get tickets to see Elton John when he preformed in Anchorage (Alaska), but both shows sold out within 45 minutes.

Oh well, I'll get around to seeing him sometime.

I hope to see Opeth sometime soon; I've heard that they're great live.

Oh god yes. When I went to prog Nation, 3 and Opeth were so freaking incredible live that it made up for missing half of between the buried and me's set (was getting my 3 cd signed :D) and the utter boringness that was Dream theater.

Aside from Prog Nation, I've seen Foo Fighters w/Serj tankian and Against Me! Opening (the foo fighters put on the best show of my life, Dave Grohl is hilarious! Serj wasn't too bad either), three days grace/breaking Benjamin co-headlining (they actually put on good shows, though I don't care for their music much any more), Thousand Foot Krutch with some other crappy bands, and...Nickelback >.> (I was in 5th grade...)

I'm going to see Nightwish w/ Sonata Arctica in september, I can't wait!

I might also be seeing Rise Against w/ Alkaline Trio, thrice, and The Gaslight Anthem in November, but that's still a long way away.
