Clans and PvP only Worlds- effects

If you read the news article released by Jagex about an hour ago, you will notice the fact that the old world of Runescape will come back. Now, this will change many aspects of the clan world. Who knows, maybe we will get more epic wars like the ones of the first days of Runescape.

 

 

 

The question that I do have though, is what effects will this new update have on the clan world? Will Clan Wars go obsolete? Will we see more new clans come out? Maybe new clans coming out on top?

I'm so ecsatic at the moment I can't think or post correctly.. This is such a crazy step toward helping out the PVP community in general. Kudos to Jagex. Many, many kudos. We got much more than we asked for. Freaking insane.

 

 

 

 

 

EDIT: Now in a calmer mood, but I can still feel the adrenaline pumping.

  • [*:b43s54ut]Clans will call cities, saying they "own" it.
     
    [*:b43s54ut]Smaller clans better mass recruit or else they'll be out-dated with safe clan wars.
     
    [*:b43s54ut]Rune sets are going to go back up again. Possibly to the 200K mark. I know I'd want at least 500 sets going into these worlds, since cluster fights will be everywhere.
     
    [*:b43s54ut]RSB clans will get crushed with the clan community rolling around.
     
    [*:b43s54ut]Surge in alliances. We'll see the old-school alliances coming back in activity.
     
    [*:b43s54ut]PKRI tactics will have to be totally revamped in every single area. For example, snipers + blasters + binders across the river.
     
    [*:b43s54ut]Any PK-related item will inflate in price, so I'm buying now while they're low.
     
    [*:b43s54ut]Scouts everywhere, checking for a good place for a clan to log in safely.
     
    [*:b43s54ut]F2P or P2P?

RWT will still be possible in the non-multi combat areas. Jagex can't go over one F2P world or one P2P world or RWT will skyrocket.

RWT will still be possible in the non-multi combat areas. Jagex can't go over one F2P world or one P2P world or RWT will skyrocket.

 

 

 

You won't be able to pick up items, just get game assigned rewards similar to monster drops.

Well, a government can sometimes just can't stand up to the power of a rebel army like a Clan :roll:

Its the thing PVP clans have been waiting for...

 

 

 

Designated worlds where you can fight other players EVERYWHERE (maybe even in Pest Control or Trouble Brewing?)

 

 

 

And although there isnt neccisarily any looting of other players, I can imagine 3-hitting someone higher levelled then you would yield some sweet drops... I wonder if Gravestones will function on those worlds...

 

 

 

New level 70 equipment suggests that its also going to be P2P... Im kinda scared of this, since it will probably be equipment that you can only get on a rare occasion doing a massivly hard kill...

 

 

 

But I cant believe that they would assign the ENTIRE world of RS to PvP... This means even banking isnt always that safe, but you could, for example, stay clear of the more popular areas and peacefully mine your runite in the wilderness, as I highly doubt that many of the fights will spill far beyond the city limits...

 

 

 

But yea...

 

I can see the larger clans or alliance of clans owning certain cities on certain worlds...

 

 

 

 

 

Well, look at us being all giddy about this :)

 

On a sidenote, I'm also looking forward to the Mobilising Army mini-game :)

In their update JaGex did say that "99%" of the map will be PvP combat available, so I'm assuming that banks, and maybe even the GE will be safe, even on these PvP worlds.

 

 

 

I'm really looking forward to this update, it introduces a whole new aspect to clan events... "Take Falador", etc. Though I imagine major cities will be horribly over-crowded... I think that places like Burthorpe, Taverly, Llyeta, and the Fremmy Islands will still be reasonably empty.

 

I too am looking forward to the skiller/Pker minigame.

 

 

 

Hope those 70+ armours aren't too hard to get... nothing like 3rd Age I hope. They might, here's hoping, be decent looking.

I'm not sure how much of this will be F2P. About certain areas being non-combat, those areas will be crowded. Like old mage bank PKing, clans will be waiting at bank spots for someone to run out. The plus side is that clans can regroup at a bank. "All regroup at G.E."..."After restocking at BH bank, we headed back out to GDZ"..."We charged warriors after massing at Al Kharid bank". I can imagine it already ::'

Hmmmm, thinking about something people may have missed...

 

 

 

Teleblock - The spell will need to be implemented again.. or you can't teleport during combat.

 

 

 

Multi/single combat - We all know the wilderness had (and still does) have multi and single combat area's.... We also know that so does the non wildy. Unless the whole world is multi/single..

 

Multicombat fights will be primarily falador. Single combat will be with edgeville i can guess. Teams/clans WILL be hanging around teleport hotspots UNLESS something is done about the teleporting system.

 

 

 

I know these are bold predictions but i can see them coming true.

This update may be so ridiculously popular people may never return to the normal runescape worlds and spend all their time in the PvP worlds. It'll be like a totally different runescape. Scary to think about.

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.

Not neccisarily (sp?). I'm in a skilling clan, but we've still had wars against combat clans (and won ::' )

 

 

 

And outside of official wars, you can just ask some friends to go to clan wars, or w/e. That what mainly happens with me. Nothing official, jsut some friends getting together and pwning noobs on W4 ::' .

Well if they do this right and make it F2P I just might come out of retirement. But somehow I have my doubts this will be a good enough replacement for the old wild, much must be risked or the victories are hollow.

I think the mini game Clan Wars will indeed change slightly...but obsolete....no. 8-)

I'm a little scared Jagex won't put enough worlds out to start off with, or will underestimate the number of players who return to use this.

 

 

 

The lag on a popular world at the moment is just tolerable, giving all two thousand players the ability to hack/blast each other wherever they are would make it impossible.

 

 

 

The Battle of Baxtorian falls would be glorious. Until half the combatants lagged out.. :uhh:
