TheAncient
The Bunyip's swallow whole special allows you to eat a raw fish. This heals you the same amount as if the fish were cooked. The unique thing about this special is that it does not interrupt your combat. Unlike normal eating, where you have to spend one turn eating, the scroll simply heals you. You don't almost can attack constantly without eating delay. Uninterrupted combat means you can deal substantially more damage to an opponent. The main drawback is that there's a large delay (2-3 seconds) between when you activate the scroll and the actual healing. Thus for emergency situations you still have to rely on normal eating. ...For big monster hunting it's too slow to use... "Bunyip eating" isn't for emergency healing. You would be "Bunyip eating" regularly (say, every 10 seconds?) and then if you get hit hard you rely on normal eating. Also, it takes 3 clicks to eat a fish instead of 1, so there is significantly more micromanagement involved. Another drawback is that Bunyip only has 40 HP, so your opponent could just spend 1 - 2 tempo killing your Bunyip to get rid of this ability. Or, you could stock extra Bunyips in your inventory but that would get expensive at 2K a pop. The scrolls cost about 200 each, and the special only takes 3 special move points. So the special is quite accessible. Discuss Ever wanted to find street prices of RS items? I agree with the OP, but considering how fast a bunyip dies it's not that handy. It has some limited use in solo monster hunting (mainly Bandos/Zamorak) Also, as I mentioned you can simply carry additional Bunyip pouches. Even though it's 2K per pouch, think of it as saving you from being hit 40 HP, or 2 sharks : Ever wanted to find street prices of RS items? The point is that you eat a raw shark every 6 seconds or so, thereby eliminating the need for having to eat regularly And if you get especially low then that's when you revert back to normal food Granted, it's a hard technique (impossible?) but if you can manage to use it, it'd be a very valuable supplement to combat Ever wanted to find street prices of RS items? You can go about 20 seconds without having to eat at all then have to panic eat for another 20. Have you ever soloed Bandos btw lol? Yes, I have soloed bandos somewhere close to 100 times The reason bandos can be so unpredictable is because sometimes, like you said, he goes on streaks where he keeps on hitting you. All you can do is eat and eat and eat, and you're stuck on the defense, dealing no damage to him. The point of the bunyip method is that you're healing almost constantly, so you'll get the kill a lot faster and avoid the panic eating altogether. Though my experiences at Bandos say that you probably are right. kemikalkadet
Well it's a good idea in principle, I just don't really see where it would be useful. The main drawback is that bunyips need raw food, while the players need cooked, if you take half raw, half cooked food in your inv there's going to be a point where you have one type left and be out of the other. In PvP they can kill the yip leaving you with a lot of useless raws in your invent, also there are better pvp familiars(a fighter with a good attack scroll or even BoB would be better). At bosses again you need to work out the split of raws vs. cooked, and at most bosses brews and rests are a better option. You would last much longer either with a titan/uni or a tortoise full of extra brews than you would with a yip. That leaves general monster killing: training/slayer etc. I've never really needed more healing than the yips normal ability, maybe a backup shark, but then losing a combat turn barely makes a difference when training. You lose 1.8 seconds from eating food. If your willing to pay 500 ea (for training, as it is the only place where you can use a slow healing bunyip's affect), that must mean that you value your time extremely highly. There are 3600 seconds in an hour. Divide that by 1.8, and you get 2000. That means if you value your time over 1m/hour, you should. BUT. Thats in theory. The fact that you have to wait for food, go through the annoyance of clicking, and the fact that you can't eat when you want makes this very inferior. And just a plain annoyance, lol. Karambwan is lagless, just stick to those. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
