Princess Viola
Now, don't say it'll never be ported. Now, what I mean is if it was ported, how do you think it would work. e.g. How would the controls be. Here's how I think it would work. Top Screen: Just the game, nothing else. Touch Screen: A bunch of tabs that you touch with the stylus to open up the menus and crap. Controls: A: Pick up item B: Toggle run D-Pad: Move? (Touch screen too, minimap). Everything else would be done via the touch screen. Your thoughts?
Zierro
It would be pretty easy to use since the mouse would be just like it would on a regular laptop (touchscreen on DS). I actually like the idea of a portable RS. It would players lots of time. Instead of always having to be in front of the computer and limiting what else you could do, you could play anywhere. la la la
It would be really neat, but think of how difficult boss-fighting and such would be. I would just mine or something on my DS.
Who
But then it would be exempt from updates, since Nintendo is anti-downloadable content. :wall: The Complete MTA Handbook | Runecrafting Pouch Analysis | Mobilizing Armies Locator Index

Yeah I'd never dare to try doing something like Fight Caves on that thing. Most of the time it would jusy be laid-back skilling. PS: We'd need a keyboard or something if we wanted to talk to friends. :(

Also, this would be kinda cool, except it would be very small and hard to see... :|

CampbellMC
There has already been hundreds of posts made for this question, the only thing that varies is the console. It won't happen so why bother speculate. The screen would be too small for it to run effectively and the DS lacks the right amount of controls to run the game. doomy
I just dontthink theres enough room on the DS for rs... And it would work pretty badly.... No minimap,a nd how do you right click things etc? The only way I can think of is the main game being on the touch screen and it being perm 1 click, but then how do you get to options and magic tb and all that? I don't think it's possible .... The Ds's screens are pretty small. Doomy edit: I like sheep
Italian5kamikaze
Then it would be portable. Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes.
Ouchy
I do not mean to sound like a pessimist, but Nintendo DS Game Cartridges are so small, they would not even be able to whole the whole of RuneScape. Then again, Nintendo always change their games to their liking, but not always for the better :| My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Makoto_the_Phoenix
While I already know it won't happen, it's still fun to think about it. It'd probably be the first mobile MMOG out there. Of course, it'd have to look like something a-la Zelda for the NES in graphics to run properly... :D Linux User/Enthusiast | Full-Stack Software Engineer | Stack Overflow Member | GIMP User...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago. That is a very good point on why it cannot be added onto the NDS. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages. sohkmj1
Unless the DS is going to have some sort of screen size extender then i'm afraid it's not even possible to imagine it, unless we only see the game as little dots, which would not live up to HD's name :l
Salad
Maybe not the DS, but maybe the Wii,Xbox or PS3? I mean on the Wii it would be awsome. Use the Remote to pick up items, click monsters, etc and the nunchunk(or w/e) to move the screen and move.
3hitm4g3u
It would be better on the psp. Better screen and already available attachable keyboard = win.

gauper_kid
Hehe.....like I don't play enough rs as it is :D That would be so awesome....but i can't imagine it happening anytime soon, but im still hoping
Forerunner
If it was ever ported into the DS, I think it would be limited to it's own servers (separate from the ones accessible from computers via the internet), considering it can't recieve constant updates. But the controls would be better, I'd rather use a D-Pad to move then constant clicking... Only fear God,Know the weapons of the weak,The weakness of the hard. MicroLegionnaire
I'm all for it, though it is hard to imagine its actually possible, because they'd either have to a) Squeeze all the tabs/functions/keyboard into the touchscreen and the rest on the top screen, which would limit the distance at which we could interact with objects, making range a problem... b)Make tabs all pop up like, like in HD, only throw in a key board as well, but that would make things really troublesome... And I guess everything will have to be two-click as well, since there isn't exactly a right click on the DS.
Seogege
It would make it a lot easier if the game screen was on the bottom because that's where the touchscreen is. You could click around the bottom screen with your stylus, and write click by double tapping maybe? That might become a problem. The gamescreen would probably be like full screen RuneScape now. You could switch to the gamescreen by pressing L. The top screen would have the inventory, stats, and everything else. You could navigate it with the arrow keys perhaps, but switching between prayers would get annoying. They could make a permanent prayer screen which you could switch to by pressing the R button (because the prayers would be on the right). To switch back, press R again and you could use the right and left arrow keys to navigate a horizontal line of all the icons (except prayer). To select stuff just press A and to deselect it again press B. Y and X could be used for right clicking in the inventory. Here's a list of the controls: D-Pad: Right/Left arrows, switches between game interface. Up/Down/Left/Right, changes view on gamescreen, navigate menu's on pause menu. A: Select item, prayer, stat, etc. B: Deselect item, prayer, stat, etc. Y: Right click item X: Right click item L: Switch to gamescreen R: Switch to game interface Start: Pause game Select: Shares same use as A This layout probably wouldn't be too good for intense combat runs like GWD Boss runs or the TzTok-Jad, but it'd be alright for standard skilling. However, text based conversations would be impossible and voice chat would be the only method of talking. Click Here for my RSOF 99 Construction G&A thread! Post your support!
