magekillr
http://www.daytondailynews.com/n/conten ... 7&cxcat=16 "She told me that the gas was sprayed into the room where the babies and children were being kept while their mothers prayed together their Ramadan prayers. Panicked mothers ran for their babies, crying for their children so they could flee from the gas that was burning their eyes and throats and lungs. She grabbed her youngest in her arms and grabbed the hand of her other daughter, moving with the others to exit the building and the irritating substance there. "The paramedic said the young one was in shock, and gave her oxygen to help her breathe. The child couldn't stop sobbing. "This didn't happen in some far away place -- but right here in Dayton, and to my friends. Many of the Iraqi refugees were praying together at the Mosque Friday evening. People that I know and love. "I am hurt and angry. I tell her this is NOT America. She tells me this is not Heaven or Hell -- there are good and bad people everywhere. "She tells me that her daughters slept with her last night, the little one in her arms and sobbing throughout the night. She tells me she is afraid, and will never return to the mosque, and I wonder what kind of country is this where people have to fear attending their place of worship? "The children come into the room, and tell me they want to leave America and return to Syria, where they had fled to from Iraq. They say they like me, ... , and other American friends -- but they are too afraid and want to leave. Should a 6 and 7 year old even have to contemplate the safety of their living situation? "Did the anti-Muslim video circulating in the area have something to do with this incident, or is that just a bizarre coincidence? Who attacks women and children? "What am I supposed to say to them? My words can't keep them safe from what is nothing less than terrorism, American style. Isn't losing loved ones, their homes, jobs, possessions and homeland enough? Is there no place where they can be safe? "She didn't want me to leave her tonight, but it was after midnight, and I needed to get home and write this to my friends. Tell me -- tell me -- what am I supposed to say to them?" What the hell is wrong with this damn country? We're GASSING Muslims during their holy holiday? Children even1?!?! Wachovia abandons ship today, Texas acquitted a man of murdering a 13 year old who stole twinkies from his trailer, and now Ohio is gassing Mosques. I am thoroughly disgusted. It is bad enough that anti-Muslim propaganda and fear mongering material like "Obsession" are being distributed in swing states....but to actually launch an attack on innocent Muslim children? I...*sigh* "Obsession": [hide=][/hide] EDIT: Yes I'll admit that was poor wording. My mistake, I apologize. Sorry, I wrote this while studying at like 3:00 a.m. last night, and the whole situation just frustrates me that such acts are committed in America that I was kind of irrational... warri0r45
It's pretty disgusting that someone could do that kind of thing to any defenseless child, but unfortunately there are nutters in every country. The portrayal of Muslims as terrorist types in some circles of society is to blame. I've not seen the movie you're talking about so I can't really comment on it too much. jackattack
For a while I was concerned but then your whole anti American rant kinda threw me off. I mean it's not like this was an isolated incident by one crazy guy right? No, of course not. The entire state of Ohio has taken to throwing tear gas or whatever it was into mosques. And Debbie Wasserman Schultz sponsoring a screening of that movie makes me think that it's not as islamaphobic as you portray it. http://www.house.gov/list/press/fl20_sc ... ening.html My carbon footprint is bigger than yours...and you know what they say about big feet. mrpez
the first thing you have to learn about americans is that most of them are hypocrites. we preach freedom and equality while we pull crap like this. im sure a majority of americas, hypocritical they may be, are not like this. it was probably white trash. edit: was browsing digg and found another article on this topic, http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/ ... 536/613742

warren211
We need to learn the difference between normal Muslims and extremists. The average Muslim will not randomly kill you. Hell, even the extremists will need a good reason to kill you. Just because they worship Allah doesn't make them cold blooded murders. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Damn, where have I heard that type of generalization before? Clearly, people are overreacting. Then clearly you read my post in the wrong manner because such a generalization doesn't exist. If you're referring to the title, it's just that these terrorists HAPPEN to be American, thus "American Terrorists", not, "All Americans Are Terrorists". Moreover, this is also about that movie that is being sent around in people's mailboxes. My next door neighbor has already received two copies of them... Lenticular_J
Terrorism can't be pointed at any country. That's the exact opposite of terrorism. Terrorists cannot pledge fealty to any nation. Regardless, this is wrong. Civilians should never be targeted as a statement. Lateralus
Terrorism can't be pointed at any country. That's the exact opposite of terrorism. Terrorists cannot pledge fealty to any nation. I disagree. Terrorism can't be pointed at any country obviously, but neither can any political, economic or sociological happening. A state can definitely be accused of terrorism though.
