You'd think so,but you'd be wrong.Its actually:Vikings,discussion of vikings and viking porn.

Aye, a small oversight on my part. The mention of vikings alone is sufficient.

Referance to the "Ever caught them?" thread? :P

But still, the viking part went much further than that thread, trust me on this one.

For one, I've learned more about politics/issues/life in general here than I ever did from my parents and such. That's really more the internet in general, but TIF has its place in that.

The people I know from here, mostly those from the Halo 3 thread really, but a few others.

I'm definitely not an oldie, only two and a half years, and a low post count compared to others who started around the same time. But like usual, I'm basically just sitting in the corner, observing...I'd like to say I know most people here. ::' (And their name, age, location, SSN, interests, etc.)

Anyway, the internet is my vent. I'm quiet in real life, and kind of anti-social. Completely different story online. Also, I trust people I'm more likely to meet in real life (As in...You) more than I trust my real life friends. Generally. Also, my friends are also really immature for the most part, so yeah...

OT is also where I usually get informed about gaming/the internet, never would've learned a bunch of stuff if I didn't stick around.

It's not perfect here, but I wouldn't really expect it to be. Sometimes there's a drop in good posts or topics, but every now and then there might be something interesting to post in. I suppose the real reason I keep coming back is the people, though. There are some pretty decent people here.
Yeah. There's always people amidst the idiots who make this place a little bit bearable, like you. :D

As for me, I don't know why I'm here... I just check here daily, like it's part of my routine or internal clock to come here #-o (after Facebook of course)

I've been a lurker on those forums since I left The Gallery one or two years ago. Even if I never post, I still enjoy coming here every now and then for a good read. Some of the best posts I have ever seen came from those forums (admittedly, there were also some that wasn't so good). I don't know why I keep coming back, but you guys sure are addictive

My reasons exactly. TIF is a unique group of people I don't know anywhere else. It's funny and serious at the same time. <3:

I'm not really even a kiddo anymore, and quit playing RS actively in like 2003 or so. I'm sick of other forums and their massive influxes of immature users though, I even gave up moderating multiple other sites years ago due to the idiotic, childish communities (plus inadequate admin staff letting complete morons and personal friends to be admins & ban innocent people they disliked). And well, IGN forums just booted out all non-suckup moderator staff once they went totally commercial.

Tip.it usually has a nice quality of offtopic posts, it's fun to browse just like news bulletins, slashdot/engadget-style sites, despite the average user being quite young here. And sometimes you're made aware of some recent event or thing you didn't hear about in other places.

Off-topic has opened my eyes to a whole new world, it made me very open-minded. Plus the fact that ~3-4 years ago there were these discussions which I could barely understand, they have to seem to be lost now (along with the people) but lately Trapical has posted something and that certainly was nostalgious (If that's a word :P)!

Nothing better to do, to be honest.

And one or two of you would look cute with no clothes on.

I know I'm not an oldie. Just thought you Lent-worshippers wanted to know something about me. <3

thanks for the compliment lent <3

i come back to these forums for TET, and because i've grown to be friends with many of you. hell, if it wasn't for these forums, i probably still wouldn't play rs, and i wouldn't have the great friends in my clan chat, and i wouldn't have my self esteem where i want it either. believe it or not, i'm actually more sane with these forums than i would be without them. without some of the people on these forums, i'd be a completely different person, or wouldn't even be here anymore. these are the reasons i come back. i care about you guys, and some of you return that.

the community, granted, I don't get along with everyone, and usually it's because they have offended me (not always sure if it's on purpose) either straight up, or often, but I guess I should try getting along with them. So I'll say to the people I have offended, sorry (because I know there are bound to be people I have offended.)

I come back for a lot of reasons, here are some, but not all the reasons why:

1. Laughing at those who fail miserably at trolling.

2. Counting the minutes before some person joins tip.it just to advertise.

3. Reading posts made by user "Abyssalwhip".

4. Helping others.

5. Expressing my opinion.

6. Getting advice from others.

It is a good community. I don't agree on somethings that happen but I deal with it.

I like my postcount at least a little bit.

It's rare to see someone admit that. It's funny how so many people tell us that they don't even care about their post count, yet I'm willing to bet anything that it is one of the main motivators for posting.

By the way, I'm guilty of this too.

*Cough*

What are you listening to?

I admit it, I love my post count, it makes me feel good about myself when I hit a nice even number :D I don't spam just to get post count, and in my opinion I don't post that much. But I keep coming back to Forum.Tip.It (I can type it really fast now from all of the times I've typed it into the address bar) because I love reading about all the events in peoples lives, having discussions with other members, and just being a part of such a great community.

Oh god, I feel like such a nerd.

You know what would be a fun experiment? Having a week where everyone's information, they're username, av, sig, post count, everything, is removed when they post. Maybe giving everyone a number to semi-identify them, but not who they are. Then at the end of the week all those posts that only had the number on them would instantanesouly regain the information about the users who posted them. Then we could look through the threads for [cabbage]z and giggles, seeing if people get the same respect (or lack there of) for their posts without their post count or username visible. We could even have a game of trying to figure out which numbers pertained to what users.

Is that possible? 'Cause that would be awesome.

Lol about removing the post count, I do believe some care about it lol. I did on another forum, even if I was only a lurker here already lol.

As for comming to Tif forum, I like the comunity a lot and have learned a lot about computers in the Tech and Computers section :). Just to say, that's what has revived my computer passion, that I though was gone, and it steered me in my current programming course at college. I like it so much that I don't know how I would've worked for 20 years in the other course I was taking before.

Also helps me when I want to take a break from homework, or when I open the internet, I always come here first. I admit as well that curiosity has something to do as well :P. This community is more mature than those other forums I go to as well. I'm still much of an observator though, lately I post more, but since even before I subscribed, I always came here for some read :).

Man, I don't know. The familiarity of a group of people with similar values who also happened to waste a huge chunk of time during their formative years playing a 2d browser game? You just get attached to the board once you've established yourself and put so much time into it. It's not so much about what we discuss here as it is the history and specific board culture here that keeps me coming back.

non-douchebagness. A lot of people on some other fansite forums are complete idiots.
