What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?

Okay, so. Bloodborne. Bloodborne is so good. DS1 was already one of my favorite games of all time but it's just unpolished by comparison. The lore is just so much more engaging, and the combat... I'm not even sure if I can justify using sword and board anymore, not when I've made it that far on a hunter that dies if anything so much as looks at her.

Yeah lore has only been like the biggest selling point to Dark Souls. But lore doesn't matter.

you missed the ;) but I can look past that

Don't worry i assumed it was sarcasm. I was just making a reference to something i read on a DS3 trailer video when another Bloodborne vs. Dark Souls 2 argument broke out and someone kept insisting that Dark Souls 2 was better because the only thing Bloodborne did better was the lore, and lore doesn't matter.

Okay let me rephrase:

The lore is a platform to allow me to fight Werewolf Cthulhu with a flaming whip sword

That is literally the only thing I have ever wanted in life.

Downloaded and tried Guild Wars 2 for the first time.

Scary game, in that I don't have time anyways.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

Started playing Age of Empires 2 (Conquerors) again. It's a load of fun. I'm amazed how much though they put into the mechanics given that it was created ages (no pun intended) ago. And I realized that I must've been a really shitty player in my youth. Well I still am, but at least I'm aware of how it can be done better.

Me and my mates played the shit out of it in the beginning of last year.

The HD version on Steam I mean. Even played some matches online.

Started playing Smite today. Played it a looooong time ago when it was still in Beta and was pretty bad at it so i stopped playing. Decided to try it out again and the first few hours were really rough. Pretty much got my ass beat the whole time. But now i'm starting to get a bit better. Need to run to the store later to get some Microsoft Giftcards so i can buy the Godpack cause right now i'm still playing with the free gods. But it's been fun so far.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.

It had me from the moment I had to find the king's favourite fish, a red herring. (Already) Full of puns and wordplay, (already) full of sidequests, and (already) full of lovable characters. Plus it reminds me so much of Final Fantasy XII (One of my top three all-time favourite games).

I still haven't gotten around to finishing it. I've had it for over a year now, but right now my PS3 sits at my parent's house...

Also, it is so freaking long, I really don't know where I'll take the time from.

Cities: Skylines went on sale.

I caved. Played ten minutes and so far, so good. I'm incredibly keen to knock off tomorrow arvo and get stuck into it. Plus it's a long weekend, so I've got plenty of time to sink into it.

Also yes, past self, Ni No Kuni is still great.

I think most of the people who run into CPU problems with cities skylines are the ones that use mods to unlock more of the map than the default maximum of 9 squares (that is, assuming you meet the recommended specs, not just the minimum specs). But yes, it is a CPU intensive game. The flipside is that it's CPU intensive because your entire population, your entire city, is fully simulated. That is, every sim has a home they actually live in, and hopefully a school or job they actually commute to, and that's pretty awesome (I think it's the only city simulation that does this, unless Cities XL does it too?).

  • 4 weeks later...

I finally got Life is Strange (wanted to wait until all of the game was released, and then forgot about it). Really enjoying it so far. I've never played a game like this before.

Undertale...

Omfg guys...without a doubt it just became my second favorite game of all time. You owe it to yourself to pick it up WITH the soundtrack from steam. Totally worth it.
