What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?

So with a week off, I've tackled a number of games:

Transistor:

Someone gifted me this game and he's probably reading this right now, so here we go. Powered through it in a matter of days and I loved every second. Story, mysterious and brilliant, soundtrack, amazing, gameplay, fun. Never hit a point where it got me mad, if I died, I retried and gave it a go with different attacks. Final boss was super sweet and a minor little thing that he could do made me super excited. Better than Bastion, and will definitely find it's way higher up in the replay queue than a lot of other games.

Fallout 4:
Finally cleaned it up, after starting the final mission on Boxing Day.

[hide=Final Mission/Endgame/Whatever spoilers]Kinda disappointed, kinda not? I don't know. I sided with the Railroad, and stand by that decision, but I didn't lie to Shaun, so I buggered my cover and got locked out of the Institute, which mean naturally all I can do is rely on the Minutemen (Brotherhood gets mad after Bunker Hill, plus I never even went and checked out the airship, anyway, Danse was a dick, so I didn't want to go work with him, meanwhile, Deacon was the second best companion, so naturally). I feel like I messed up their story, so I activated a 'Oh you buggered up, uh, here, do it this way so you can actually finish the game' skip, if ya know what I mean. Apparently Tinker Tom, the super smart dude who worked out teleportation can't look through the code to find the radiation vent bizzo that Sturges found within minutes? Okay... But anyway, storming the base and talking with Shaun was great. Explosions are cool. Shaun gave me synth Shaun to raise so that's really nice. Piper loves me even more now that Synths are gone, so that's pretty sweet. I feel like the only thing dirtying my experience was the entry way into the Institute, maybe it's bad writing, maybe I just waited too long and got bitter. I don't know man. Still one of my favourite games from last year. And I probably enjoyed it more than Fallout 3, but New Vegas' spot as my favourite game (Of all time, too, not just Fallout) stands.[/hide]

Yakuza 4:
As noted above, I impulse bought this. And surprise, surprise, really good move. This is great. Weird, but great. It's pretty much a TV series, with a few breaks to do some stuff around town, mostly fighting dudes and collecting stuff. So much going on within the Yakuza, and until a character change, I had little to do with it. Just so much in this game. I don't know if I'd recommend it, but I definitely enjoy it.

Crusader Kings II.

Still has me heart.

Am twice as large as the next independent realm with me Scandinavian Germanic Merchant Republic.

Good part: I can attack nearly everyone with a holy war.

Bad part: nearly everyone teams up against me.

Right now I am stronger than all Catholic rulers combined. (There is only one reasonable Catholic and that is Empire of Francia from whom I have recently taken Italy, West France and Brittany)

I am still afraid of the Muslims. And I am just starting the Mongol age. And apparently the Aztecs are also gonna come. Some time in the future.

So it is gonna be harsh.

So I've noticed this thread's regulars all follow similar trends.

RPG is constantly dealing with psycho exes.

Muggi reminds us of the joys of polygamy.

Saq is totally oblivious to how much chicks dig him.

I strike out every other week.

Kalphite wages a war against the friend zone.

Randox pretty much stays rational.

Etc, etc

Played a little bit of The Division beta. Have to say I like the concept of it... RPG elements in a game like this can have potential. Will wait to get it for a while however. Need to upgrade the GPU...was running arounf 25 FPS -_-

Mount & Blade: Warbands again. Started a new game in the vanilla game.

Can beat up pretty much anyone in the game, but I made myself a woman character and thus it is helluva a difficult to actually get my own holdings...

Tales of Zestiria. I'm actually really liking what they've done with the combat system. I'm sure I'm doing just about everything wrong but it's just a joy to play and the story actually feels like heroic fantasy. The one downside so far is that it constantly reminds me that my PC is a toaster that I need to make less bad.

But there's Fire Emblem next week, so that will have to wait because I'll be in JRPG hell for the immediate future.

Still playing Black Ops 3, just hit 6th Prestige. I only have 3 more specialists to go until I unlock hero armor. I've gotten diamond assault rifles and diamond pistols. One LMG to complete until I get diamond LMGs and I'm working on the launchers at the same time.

Street Fighter 5 comes out next week and I can't wait it's going to be so fun

Dead Island: Remembered that I had fun with this when I pirated it, and a mate mentioned it and said it was great, so I installed it. And it was great. For a while. Then it was dumb, for a while, but then it ended pretty sweet. Cut out that middle ground of the Sewers and the Jungle, and you'd have a bloody masterpiece. Got me interested in Dying Light, though, and I'll definitely suss out Dead Island 2 when it rears its head.

The Witcher 2: Tackling this again to clean it up. Thought I'd left it at about 10% through the story, but it seems from the quick research I've done, I'm about 75% through, we'll see how the rest plays out though, of course. Still super awesome, still highly recommended. And I'll 100% definitely pick up 3 when it goes on sale, after a break, after I finish 2.

100% Orange Juice: Been on this nonsense again after my brother picked it up in the sale. Super fun multiplayer game, especially while trashtalking your brother, sister and her boyfriend while playing it.

I truly wish to have a computer good enough for Dying Light. I've played a bit on my friend's computer and it really is good. I'd get it if I had the good enough computer. But right now, stuck with other games.

Crusader Kings 2 had a huge update again, but I haven't touched the game yet. Previous large update completely [bleep]ed up my ironman best ever game and screwed me over and I don't want it to happen again and am waiting for the minor patches to fix all bugs.

Playing through ME3 for the first time with a lot of the DLC, I have to admit that the more awesome the game becomes, not in terms of gameplay but relationship building, the angrier I get about the ending. Before, it didn't love it, but I didn't mind it too much, but after the Citadel DLC in particular, it's getting more to the point of "I don't know if I can even do the last mission, because I'd rather write my own ending in my head". I mean, I will finish the game, but...I almost don't want to now.

As a side note, I found the Citadel DLC to be...excessively campy. Not enough to ruin the fun, but the absurdity levels were a little overdone imo. Wrex makes up for it though. Good 'ol Wrex.

Downloaded Firewatch for PS4 (available for PC) and it's a quick indie game but it was absolutely stunning with some of the best voice acting I've ever heard.  I paid $17 with my PS Plus membership and I believe it's similar on Steam currently.  Not a very long game I did it in about 4 and half hours but worth it.

I've yet to buy/play it, but I'm very much interested. Looks like you play as a dude who works in a national park and you navigate around talking to some sheila and deal with problems in the park and such. It was written by the dudes who wrote Telltale's Walking Dead Season 1, so that's super encouraging.

Firewatch was super disappointing, and pretty much a waste of money. It's a game with so much potential, but the way it ends completely ruins anything positive that might happen during the game. I wouldn't recommend anyone waste money on it, even if it is only $17.

Got Destiny a day or two ago. It's pretty overwhelming to be honest. Very beautiful game though.

The Witcher 2: Had a day off this week (Rare) and cleaned up the finale. Super sweet game, and the next time the third goes on sale, I'll probably cave and buy it. Definitely a steal for what I got it for (Like $2.50).

[hide=Endgame spoilers]For those who played it, I'm interested how else it can end. Because I'm a big softie I saved Sile, mercy killed the dragon and let Letho go. I went with Roche in chapter 2, so he saved Anais while I saved Triss.[/hide]

Life Is Strange (Episode 1): Another completion on my day off. I'm a sucker for episodic stories, so I dug it. I was a little annoyed that I got it in a Humble Bundle which gave me 33% off the season pass, but I left it too long so it expired, because I definitely would have picked it up. Next time she goes on sale, it'll be in my Steam library, just like Witcher 3. Also man, I look like 12, when Chloe looks like 25, when we're both 18/19.

Mount and Blade: The original. Interesting. I don't really have a goal, so I'm wandering aimlessly. I heard I could sell slaves to some dude, so I've decided to play the bad guy this time (Rare) and I'm setting myself up to become a slave master. So that's fun.

Tomb Raider: The original, again. I needed a new game to tackle, so I googled 'Must play games', and said I'd play the first that I had and haven't ever played. And that was that. It's fun, and there's no hand holding. Stuck? Sucked in, work it out, and for the moment, that's fun too. Plus I can get my kicks staring at 1996 Lara Croft butt. aww yiss

Forza Horizon: Been so long since I've played a racing game, so this was up, so I can play my 360 I bought but my brother has used more. And since it's been so long, it's great. Just the right amount of challenge, and the fact that I have to use different cars means I get some sweet variety and more challenge. Super fun.

Games!

Trine 3: Super amazing and I loved it. BUT. HUGE PROBLEM. Way too expensive at normal price. I picked it up in a Humble Bundle, which meant I paid around three bucks for it in the end, which is spot on for how long it took me to complete. I love the Trine series already, so I wasn't upset about the length. I've just gotta warn ya, I 100%'d it within seven hours. The developers have been really cool about it, though. Even going to Reddit with an AMA title along the line of 'We developed Trine 3, we did it wrong, now we're gonna try a different thing.'

Forza Horizon: Finished it up, super solid racer and I enjoyed it greatly. Always a great feeling when the final race of a game is against your rival around the entire map. Truly the only way to finish up a racing game.

Shadowrun Returns: I was on board when I saw the style. I'm normally not too much a fan of these sorts of games, but I am seriously digging this. Great story going on and I'm itching to play more.

inFamous: Second Son: Finally got the PS4 exclusive I've wanted to play since they announced it. Only played about 45 minutes so far, due to the heat at the moment worrying me about my PS4. But apart from that, it's my favourite game already.

Some stores here are already selling it. Like i said, i got my copy on the 28th or 29th already. It's useless though since the servers aren't up yet so it's not like i get to play it before anyone else.

Ah alright. You have it for PC?

Nah i got it for PS4. Friend of mine doesn't have a PC that can handle it so i just got it on PS4 instead.

Have you watched any sort of gameplay on it or anything? I haven't watched much more than the trailer so i don't really have any idea what to expect.

I played the BETA. Open world, over the shoulder third person shooter in NYC. I'm pretty excited it's based in NYC, seeing as I live right outside NYC and visit often (at least I used to before I joined the army)
